  Nice day! at all. I don't know if this is already asked before, but I would like to ask for your help regarding my inquiry.
  
  We have an Oracle 10 g Database EE here in our company which is established in a RAC (2 nodes and 1 SAN). Of course, that are already approved.
  
  We intend to implement the Oracle Data Guard.
  
  Of course the Oracle Data Guard will run voluntarily for a disaster recovery, in the case that our CARS (especially the SAN) will crash, we would like to have a stand physically separated by our primary database server (stand by server is completely separate to our existing main server) server.
  
  My questions are:
  
  1. don't we have to take advantage of a new license for custody of data?
  2. what other license should we acquire for the above settings?
  3. we would have a separate Installation of Oracle database on the standby server?
  4. If we have a named user license 150 on the primary database should purchase us a new license user named 150 for the confirmation Server?
  5. are there other things I have to consider in what concerns the granting of licenses for our project?

  OK, here's how my speailist license put, Data Guard as a product is free, but is not the database instance. A physical standby is a database, it must be so licensed, however the expert of the license indicates that licenses you buy for the execution of the physical standby can be ubtained at a substantially reduced rate as they would be called limited licenses. It's not data hold is the cost, it is the cost of an another database on another machine. According to you, current license, you can be covered however, you may not. Everything I say is call a specialist to license Oracle Metalink support, call the guy or gal who has sold you Oracle licenses or appeal and certified Oracle partner/reseller can help you with a specialist of the license and have a licensing discussion/examination before implementation. Oracle support is not those who understand the licenses and how this all works, he did this and like them, always thought that data guard and physical databases Eve were free and included and recently corrected, hard enough I might add.

  According to global price list of Oracle for E - Business Suite, procurement has been priced as an "option" as a result of purchases of goods. But according to me, there is a glimmer of hope based on the exact use.

  • For example, for a purchase order, you must join Terms & Conditions and these T & C are defined in a model of procurement. Therefore, in this case an addiction off using Oracle to purchase.
  • On the other hand, you may want to define a number of contract Variables, T & C, models of contracts and job creation, comparison and the approval of the process are handled without purchase or iSupplier portal. In this case you use it as an independent module.

  In my opinion, it depends on your exact use markets, and it would be best to contact license commercial Oracle to get a clear answer to your question.

• Question of integrating short license Oracle ETL

  Hi all

  During deployment short Integrator, everything was going well until I stumbled upon license configuration of the last step IE.

  I sent the OEID on windows 2008 server 64-bit.  According to the documentation, I need to create a cloverServer.properties with the path.

  (It is mentioned that use only the slash (front/rear)?) . I created and then added along the lines in the StartWeblogic.cmd

  set JAVA_OPTIONS = % JAVA_OPTIONS %-Dclover_config_file=D:\Oracle\Middleware_Orch\user_projects\domains\endeca_integrator_server_domain\cloverServer.properties

  I started the server oracle of Integrator short... and found the message of this license has expired...

  I used both forward and oblique for server starts but nothing helped...

  Please suggest what Miss me...

  I found the problem... In fact I was adding JAVA_OPTIONS in startweblogic.cmd in the path field. Later, I added a line even to StartWeblogic.cmd field/bin...

  and I was able to connect to the Integrator after this correction...

  Important here is that I had used the slash (/) and also the feeling that education about the setting java_options adding should be clearly indicated to add to /bin/startweblogic.cmd instead...

• How do I know what customer license oracle has?

  Is it possible (whether through backend or frontend) to find out what license a customer has when he's working on a new project/environment?
  
  I was told that our client did not performance management, but I'm able to configure the same without any problem but when trying to configure the succession planning that I see not seeded responsibility "succession planning".

  I can't configure the modules that we don't have a license but I guess just for learning/testing is safe/fine to do the installation in the TEST/development proceeding or which is not acceptable?

  You can enable any module for learning purposes, as long as you do on your personal material - I wouldn't on a customer or client hardware

  Even if you have not provided your version of apps/db giving you a general navigation according to the 11i.

  Log in OAM--> SITE map--> (License Manager) System Configuration--> reports (produced under licence)

  Policy modeling is licensed per user of the Application, or for the entire company.
  Policy automation is authorized by the user of the Application, by the processor, or for the entire company.

  It is correct.

  Number of ports IVR Premium is based on the number of seats.

  For example: 37 x 2 = 74 IVR ports in your case.

  It is also limited by the capacity of your server.

  Standard and enhanced version is not such a limitation.

  The port of IVR in these versions are limited by the capacity of the server.

  IVR ports usually 300 or 400.

  There is no difference in the code of the Oracle.  The difference is that in terms of licenses. SE1 can be run on a server (2 connectors) very low.

• Oracle Enterprise Edition licenses - base metric

  Oracle: 10G (10.2.0.4) 64 - bit Enterprise Edition
  Running on Intel Xeon chips, which, in my view, have a coefficient of multiple base of 0.5
  
  We have 540 licenses NUP on our site. We obviously have a direct box, and a few test boxes.
  
  One of our test boxes have 4 cores (Intel Xeon chip). Using minimum for Enterprise Edition licenses, after applying the base of 0.5 factor there would be 2 hearts, I believe that we need to 25 licenses NUP by heart, which would be = 50 NUP minimum for this test area.
  
  Is this right?
  
  My concern is that there may be a minimum of 4 cores (after factor) for Enterprise Edition. I can't find anything that confirms this. I can only find maximum rates for Standard, nothing for Enterprise Edition edition.
  
  If there is a minimum of 4 cores, so I need to get one of these test boxes.

  Again, as everyone said above, you should contact Oracle Sales Rep.

  But still, let me answer your question, it is noted as minimum of 4 cores for enterprise edition. You can have license NUP even on 1 CPU.

  Another thing that might be beneficial, Oraclel gives you enterprise of limited use license to your Test/Dev box which means that you need only minimum NUP 10 s for Test/Dev business instead of the minimum of 25. This will save you 15 NUP by processor. But to do this, you must talk to Oracle or any third party provider.

  But even once best bet is o talk to Sales Rep.

• Oracle options licensed 1:1 with Oracle Ent. Edition 11 GR 2 or pending?

  Are the options of Oracle licensed 1:1 with Oracle Ent. Edition 11 GR 2 (for example, the CPU core multiplier) or the number of instances of database on a host? In other words, if I need to buy two licenses of Oracle Enterprise Edition for a single host, do I need to buy the same number of licenses Oracle Option (again, based on a multiplier of the CPU core). Or by the number of Oracle database instances installed on this host?
