  Microsoft does not sell Windows 7 with a downgrade to Windows XP and a valid key. You will need to provide your own key. This option is only available with OEM Windows 7 Professional systems. If you wish to continue using XP you will need 2 keys as indicated by JW.
  Windows 7 offers XP mode and you can use it if you have chosen.

  Your license allows you to have two facilities enabled, so if you want, you can keep the original as a backup copy.  If you do not then you should disable at least.

  Adobe applications/licenses cannot be transferred from one computer to another, you must install the application on the new machine using installation files.

  Sean and Don got off-topic and you confused. They were talking about other products Adobe, who need a new key from the OS.

  You'll be fine without having to do more to download an appropriate platform executable and install it on your Mac.Your new current key works on Mac.

  In regards to your current catalog, simply copy it into the Mac and all your images. If you keep your images in the same folder structure, things will be easier for you: you will be able to LR to point to the top-level folder, and will reconnect all images under it. There are many discussions on this forum dealing with mobile catalogues in excruciating detail.

• 8 win does not see my Apps after "Easy Transfer" of Win 7 comp to Win 8 elem

  I used the "Windows Easy Transfer" tool to move my apps, settings, and files on my new computer. But the tool has not worked very well. 'Transfer' puts things, but win 8 of the new computer does not see my Apps from your old computer. For example, I use Open Office 4.01, but if I go to 'Control Panel' to see what is installed in the "Programs" Section, there is no open Office installed 4.01. The program seems to exist in an environment and windows doesn't see it.

  Update:  Win 8 sees Open Office 4.01 when the search tool, it can be found, but Open Office 4.01 does still not show in the Program\Uninstall Menu in the control panel.

  After I moved all my music library from Win Vista/WMP 11 for Win 7/WMP 12, I note that several metadata is lost. For example all the values in the PlayCounts and stamp fields have been updated with 0/white. Before the transfer I backed up all the metadata using the metadata (http://www.dalepreston.com/Blog/2007/03/windows-media-player-metadata-backup.html) backup program which I was recommended to this forum. But when I try to restore I am not able to run due to the restoration, the button is grayed. I change all the file/folder names.

  I also noticed that the KeyField field existence more in the library. Is it possible to restore these values to the new database?

  Just make sure that the license is no longer in use on the old computer. Go to install on the new computer and reactivate it by phone:

  The Adobe license allows 2 activations, so if you have used 1 activation, you can install and activate on machine 2

• Transfer from one server to another

  I have an old HP ProLiant with ColdFusion 10 Server on it.   The server is provided Government running Windows Server 2003. It is desperately slow, in particular via the VPN to my company.  SysAdmin in the office gave a VM Windows 2008 R2 server for me and I'm trying to transfer from the old server to the new.   It's a development database.   I downloaded and installed Oracle 11 g on the new server, imported from the old database and the code.  Oracle allows you to download and use the software for free if it is a single-user development machine.   I feel that Adobe doesn't do the same thing with CF.   What is the process to transfer the license?   This project is end of life, my client of Government is unwilling to spend money on a new server or a new software.   Any help would be greatly appreciated.
