Windows 7 Home Premium Retail license transfer procedures

Ask for help with the license transfer rules retail Win 7 in my laptop to a desktop computer. I stopped to use the laptop after a failure of a major component which made useless machine. I want to deactivate the current license offline and transfer it on my desktop - mode offline, is once again better through email - that is if I can swap some files by e-mail with the support of MS - but team then also heard this toggling on phone too I agree with. Just to give a background, I had purchased a single license among the MS partners/re-sellers afew years.

Therefore, to achieve the objective set out above, I ask the following:

1. where to contact them for deactivation?

2. what references I'd be ready with to disabling? -Please note that I can not access my laptop due to the failure of a major component - don't know which yet

3. how long would the disabling in offline mode?

4. where to contact them for activation?

5. at what time can I activation - before installing win 7 Desktop, sometimes during installation, after installation?

6. what powers/files I would be willing to perform the activation?

7 How long would take offline activation?

Just make sure that the license is no longer in use on the old computer. Go to install on the new computer and reactivate it by phone:

(3) select your "country" in the list.
 
(4) choose the option "activate phone".

    You can uninstall the license from the old machine:

    Click Start, type: CMD
    Right-click on CMD
    Click on run as administrator
    At the command prompt, type: slmgr.vbs - upk

    Press enter, this uninstall the product key from the computer and get back to the test mode

    I have a question of kwik on my Windows 7 Home Premium Retail Full Version.  I didn't install it since July of 2013.
    I bought it in May 2011, brand new at sears.com. During this period of May 2011 - July 2013, I had it installed
    on, in total, 3 different offices computers (NOT at the same time... Still, I uninstalled Windows 7, as with all Microsoft OSs, before installing it
    on another system).

    In July 2013, I upgraded my motherboard and I had more money I decided to buy another Windows 7
    Home version Premium OEM full for this motherboard.  Yes, for a little over a year, I had a 'spare' Windows 7 Home
    Premium full retail version disk.  I contacted Microsoft support by phone, chat, e-mail, etc. over the past
    year to see if it is genuine.  I have not kept a full track of results, but 'about' just less than
    50% of contacted Microsoft experts say that it is authentic and about a little less than 50% say that it is authentic, BUT it must be
    activated by phone. Unfortunately, some even said that it was genuine and non-genuine and that it is authentic,
    I have to pay about $150 for one year of support.  Who is not called a scam?  The issue is, basically, can I use it

    drive for the full retail Version that I bought it like?

    It works perfectly, the product key is valid, but half Microsoft agents I spoke on this subject, although they all say that it is authentic, the other half say it is valid, but I have to pay a "tax of support" to activate it.

    Can be transferred to any computer and reactivated as long as it is removed from the previous computer, it is installed on.

    The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

    -OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

    -OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

    -OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

    -OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

    Some people have gotten the reinstalled and reactive without problems, it is just that, regarding the license agreement, his is not consistent.

    As for the authenticity of the it, Yes, its true, how to use it is another matter. As noted by the above rules, if you have been move to different systems and motherboard, it is used in accordance with the license agreement. It does not have the same rights of transfer as the full retail version, you bought originally.

    Another question would be, if these rules are applied? NO.

    Just reformat the hard drive.

    You do not contact Microsoft.
    Then, as it's a level of detail, you can use it somewhere else.
    It may require a reactivation of phone once you install it elsewhere.

    I bought a copy the retail of Windows 7 premium (updated version) upgrade on Vista Home Premium SP2on my 3 yr old HP Pavilion Desktop on 22/10/2009. Vista has been installed at the factory. The PC more than meets all hardware reqs. I tried 4 or 5 times to upgrade the operating system on this PC & it runs fine until the process to halfway in step 5 in the upgrade and stops. I forgot the exact message, but it's like 'cannot be upgraded pc, abandoned process, will now restore the Vista installation. After this x 4-5 in the last seven days, I'm sick of what's going on. I've been building & PC repair & installation, configuration, and upgrade Windows since Windows 3.1 and Dos operating system. The Win 7 installation routine is so demanding that if all the program requirements are not met (for the latter)-it just stops and is abandoned. I've never had this kind of trouble before. NEVER Yes, I use the on-line support docs & Software Advisor compatibility. I've never seen an OS that just works! Absolutely amazing!  I also tried this on my computer Lenovo laptop lastnight - same thing!

    Thanks for the information. You said you ran Upgrade Advisor several times on both machines. This show no error every time? Also, I would recommend unisntalling any antivirus that you have currently and to help clean up the provided utilities if any, of the antivirus manufacturer. In addition, unplug all unnecessary devices such as printer, network cable or any other devices you have.

  • Pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium - OEM keys - retail keys - COA label underside of the laptop... MESS!

    In 2011, I bought a laptop MSI CX 640. Windows 7 Home Edition Premium has come with it preinstalled. With that I think I buy a license for the operating system and the right to use and reinstall it if I need it.

    Over the past four years this handyman crossed a lot of Setup on the laptop, including Linux, Windows 8 and 8.1 and Windows 10 technical overview etc.

    Fast forward to today and I learned from Microsoft's offer of a free copy of Windows 10 for owners of authentic versions of Windows 7. So, what I have to do is return to the original genuine Windows 7 Home Premium I own and I will be able to reserve my copy of Windows 10 right?

    Not so fast, accomplishment that could not and certainly turned out not to be so simple at all.

    I had several long phone calls with Microsoft, who finally dumped the hot potato between the hands of MSI.

    MSI I have to say has been useful at the beginning, they sent me for free and quickly 2 recovery disks I needed that SHOULD have helped also go back to square one, just like I wanted.

    Should, but actually didn't. Recovery fails with an error that seems to imply that the process is looking for a nonexistent disk 3. MSI is perplexed, all that they have these discs and the simple instructions they send with them. In addition, they are totally in the dark and "will not go dark.

    However, one representative suggested that if I could get my hands on a copy of the operating system OEM I certainly would be able to install and use the key I have on my laptop MSI low COST label to activate it. His logic I think, so I'm going to work on this. Another detail, I have to mention is that tht key on the COA label is kind of door as they are all are sitting unprotected Abdel low. But I can take a photo in high resolution and with little digital magic improve to a point where I hope I can read almost all of it and try to guess the characters who are still in question.

    Or so I thought that, actually, he does not leave 2 possibilities.

    I'm guessing either not right (possible but not likely in my opinion, after all the tests I had) or is NOT an OEM key or if it was has now been cancelled.

    Now I'm guessing is NOT a key to the retail, who tried with a copy to the details of the operating system.

    So where this leave poor me, owner of a license of Windows 7 Edition Family Premium authentic apparently, I can't use.

    I hope that one of you readers can help understand me this and I hope my work and tribulations (I'm a very determined guy) can also help some of you in this if you are also in my shoes.

    One final note of common sense me:

    If I buy a product, whether it is OEM, sale retail or gift from God, I would get with it all licenses, numbers, keys, permissions, instructions, ten commandments necessary to have access to this product at any time and without hassle.

    Which seem to apply to most of our purchases isn't?

    Why not reinstall Windows 8.1 or just enjoy the opportunity for Windows 10 preview to the free final version.

    I was a given a Dell Dimension 5150 has a few years by my boss that was running Windows XP Edition family.

    I was more than satisfied with it until last weekend.

    The computer's power supply has no a way dramatic and chips to the motherboard and processor irreparably.

    Looks like I'm going to buy a new computer to replace.

    I saw that there is an option to buy a "bare bones" system installed PC with no operation.

    Could someone confirm that I can install the operating system of my disks in Windows 7 Home Premium without having to buy another copy of the software?

    Well, Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade of transfer rights, but since its a license upgrade, the computer you transfer must have a license of qualification prior to (Windows Vista or XP).

    Product keys are not specific architecture (32-bit or 64-bit), as long as you have corresponding to a key for the edition you want to install, you can use either 32-bit or 64-bit version of it.

    What I am sure, is that Windows 7 Starter is SP1, while the Windows 7 Home Premium has no preloaded service pack.

    Windows 7 Starter Edition is 32-bit only, so if you had to do an upgrade to Home Premium, it would lead to a 32-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium only. If you need to migrate to a 64-bit version of Home Premium, you will need to invest in a license to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium retail that includes 64-bit disk.

    If you have Windows 7 Starter installed, it is likely on a Netbook, running a 64-bit would probably be too much for such a system, I suggest you stick with 32 bit Windows 7 Home Premium if you need the features it offers.

    Windows 7 64 bit comes in handy when you need to deal with at least 4 GB of RAM or more. Windows 7 32 bit can use up to 3.2 GB of RAM. Because the address space of memory is much larger for 64-bit Windows, this means that you need two times more memory than the 32-bit Windows to accomplish some of the same task, but you are able to do much more, you can have more apps open, do things like run a virus scan in the background it will affect the performance of your system. 64-bit Windows 7 is safer too, malicious code cannot easily infiltrate it, drivers are more reliable because they must be signed before it can work with 64 bit Windows 7.

    Regarding compatibility, you need device drivers 64-bit hardware devices, you may have. In addition, there is no 16-bit subsystem in Windows 7 64-bit, which means, your applications must be 32-bit only, not 16-bit Installer or programs uninstall
