Life of the inhabitants of TestStand - transmission of data through reruns DUT

Hi all

What is the best way to move a previous run of the sequence data to the next (for next USE)?

I thought that the local variable (container with a few commands and tables) remains through the next executions, but it seems that it is erased after cleaning. Am I missing something?

I would like to do something as the shift register between subsequent executions. It is easy to do with LabVIEW (also with TestStand and LabVIEW) but I want to do such thing purely in TestStand.

Can someone help me with some advice?

Thanks in advance,

Best regards

Folon

The behavior you're seeing is planned.

You can store the variable information in a file using the function Write() and read it with the ReadEx() function.

You can also use (gag) Station Globals.

  • Removal of the custom by TestStand 4.0 data types

Hello! I use the custom in my TestStand sequence data type. This data type is derived from my own control and is a huge cluster of clusters. It is created in a file of sequence (and not in any *.ini). By changes in the sequence, it becomes necessary to delete existing custom data type and create a new one due to changes in the custom control. How can I remove custom data types?

I n ' found any possibility to do in Teststand menus. It was not so important, if the custom data type was not so huge.

Thank you in advance for your answer - maybe it's a workout if no direct solution?

    Hello

Just see the Type of data in the file in the sequence and highlight the custom data type it, then delete it.

(Please make sure that you do not have variables defined in your file of sequence that still use the data type you want to remove).

  • The Essbase 11.1.1.2 data through a 11.1.2.1

All migrated data 11.1.1.2 to 11.1.2.1 Essbase? I built a brand new environment 11.1.2.1. Our old environment running 11.1.1.2. In the outline of the old environment, calc scripts etc. were stored on disk d:\ (d:\Hyperion\products\Essbase\EssbaseServer\app) and the data stored on drive e:\ (e:\Hyperion\products\Essbase\EssbaseServer\app) by using the parameter diskvolumes for the BSO cubes. We have also a few cubes ASO users reported to drive e:\. In the new environment, I installed on drive e:\ essbase, so everything should end up here on a single disc. In the old environment it has been installed on the disk d:\.

Can I create a new app/db on the new server, copy all of the objects on disk d:\ on the new server, export all data and import the new server? I read a little on an essbase, staging of tool. Has anyone, has used up a configuration of two disks for a configuration of a disk? We have also about 600 GB of data in the cube. Is there a limitation of size with this tool?

    Thank you.

Personally I would not recommend copy all the files in this way, if it's a migration then I tend to go for the migration wizard in environmental assessments and to export/import data separately or go down the official road of the upgrade via the path supported.

  • iOS 10 effect on the life of the battery for the iPhone 6 s

I bought a 6 s iPhone 64GB one month before the release of iOS 10. I noticed a huge difference in the life of battery since the upgrade to iOS 10 and iPhone is to have the latest version (iOS 10.0.2). I have disabled some features, I found online as lift to wake and reduced the flow for the life of the reserve battery but still not satisfied with the result. Can someone please guide me what can I do? or if it can be reviewed and fixed in the next software update?

I had this problem too. I went into settings > battery and checked my battery usage and fixed applications with a background activity that was it drains. But it's still pretty dark. I had to leave my phone mode low power just to prevent it from falling down for like 60% after only being on 3 hours.

Can I use the original iPad Air 2 charger to charge my iPhone 6 Plus? It shortens the life of the battery of the phone?

Yes, you can. No, it won't. Apple sells this as compatible with the iPad and iPhone adapter.

And the phone does a little faster than with the phone adapter.

  • What is the best for the life of the battery?

Here is the question about the battery life:several questions about Macbook Air

In the dominic23 question said: 'Keep the computer connected to the extent possible, if you keep the computer always connected, make sure that at least two times a month'.

I thought that the most important factor for the battery life is movement of electrons in the battery, so we should use in battery when possible. Therefore, I do not keep the connected computer if I need to. Furthermore, I'm not the discharge of the battery, if the battery remains around 30%, then I plugged in, so there is a limit to the second sentence.

The question is which method is the best for the life of the battery?

Fill one or two cycles of load per month will meet the requirement of "movement of the electron".

Citing at the bottom of the linked article.

"The question is often asked:" should I disconnect my laptop from the mains when not in service? Under normal circumstances it should not be necessary because as soon as the lithium-ion battery is full, a properly functioning charger will stop the load and load the pad will only engage when the battery voltage drops to a low level. Most of the users do not remove AC power, and this practice is safe. »

  • Information about the life of the battery of Equium A100-306?

    Hello!
I have a Toshiba Equium A100-306 & am pleased with it.
Of course, I want to protect my investment & having been, in the past, concerned about battery 'memory', I was happy to find that this machine works with a battery lithium-ion - & everywhere I look I see words to the effect that:

"There is no memory and no regular bike not needed to extend the life of the battery.

I also found: a lithium-ion battery provides 300-500 charge/discharge cycles. The battery prefers a partial rather than complete discharge. Frequent full discharges should be avoided when possible. Instead, charge the battery more often or use a larger battery. There is no memory problem when unexpected expenses. »

Except, that is, Toshiba (citing the manual) say: "at least once a month, run the computer on battery power until the battery is completely discharged, then discharge the battery."
Then, they suggest "once a week" to ensure maximum capacity.
You will understand why I am confused? I would really appreciate someone stating the above.
Thanks for your time. Cheers, Peter.

    Hello

Perhaps they have not properly updated their textbooks? I Don t know, but is the only thing I can tell you, that new technologies in mobile systems such as yours are very modern and I think toshiba had a cool technology into their machines, so that systems of remain "without worry".

I suggest you read this article on the type battery that is in your machine so that you can understand the best technology:

  • Display a default sous-suite when opening the file in the editor of TestStand sequence

Is there a way to set the default display sequence when open a file of sequence?

Seems that the steps for MainSequence are generally displayed first what existing openning sequence.

How I put it to display an another sous-suite when I open the movie file, I created.

Or if it displays one sous-suite other than MainSequence, how to set this back to display by default when MainSequence reopenning the file in TestStand.

    Jeff,

Sequences are stored in files in sequence in the order of 0 - N.  The default sequence will be the 0th.  To change the order in the sequence editor, you can click on the bar of the above sequence sequences.  Keep clicking until there is no arrow on it.  He is the true order of the sequences in the file in the sequence.  Drag the desired visible upward.

See the image so that you know what I mean.

How can I connect a test result of 4 EHR tested in parallel using the logarithmic function Teststand database

I use Labview 2013, 2013 Teststand and sequential model.

The test is performed using a single digital card (SMU-6556). The FSD 4 is connected to the port of the digital map and is tested in parallel.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

We need create reports from the results of TestStand (.mdb) database.  I was not able to find much online.

    Details:

In 2014 TestStand, we have configured to use Access database management system.  Otherwise, the database settings are default.

These reports will be targeted to managers and engineers.  They need to show objects as:

    Which EHR past/almost?

For each DEGREE, what past/a failed test?

    Thanks for all the suggestions!

Because I couldn't find anything pre-made, I created reports from scratch using queries in Microsoft Access 2010.

  • Try to integrate the TPC with TestStand integrity

Does anyone have experience with the help of PTC integrity actually execute test sequences and get feedback for success/failure of TestStand? I received assurances from sales of PTC that it was possible. I'd feel better if I had independent confirmation.

    Hi Mark,

your first question seemed to be less about the call PTC TestStand and much more on the call of TestStand from the layer of management that is integrity of PTC.

Basically, I see not a problem given that user interfaces or sequence editor may take command line arguments, so as long as you can get a configuration out integrity PTC that it called then to a .exe, you should be fine.

The end result of a sequence running with a process model is, of course, a version of a report or of the values of the institution, to close the loop by seeing the available data be exploited within TPC would also be something that should be answered.

Is something that you already have or are asked to judgment or a decision of the company - PTC?

I guess that's still slightly upward in the air if you have the infrastructure or the demo or the integrity of PTC, and since the site PTC.com mentions not TestStand that can raise some flags, but if you can get them to make a demo, do it on the same PC client you have TestStand on would be the best way to know if it fits.

On a side note, PTC integrity seems to be similar to the IBM's Rational product. The IBM Rational Group made a presentation at NIWeek this year - you can watch the video here...

  • Errors in the schema SQL TestStand 4.1.1

I am trying to create a new MSDE 2005 SQL Server database using the new schema of TestStand 4.1.1. I've used the SQL Server stored procedure to generate a .sql file, and then run this SQL file. I get several errors similar to the following:

    > CREATE TABLE STEP_RESULT (ID uniqueidentifier PRIMARY KEY, UUT_RESULT uniqueidentifier, STEP_PARENT uniqueidentifier, int ORDER_NUMBER, STEP_NAME varchar (255), STEP_TYPE varchar (255), STEP_GROUP varchar (32), STEP_INDEX int, STEP_ID varchar (32), STATUS varchar (255), REPORT_TEXT varchar (255), int, varchar ERROR_MESSAGE ERROR_CODE (255), CAUSED_SEQFAIL bit, MODULE_TIME float, float TOTAL_TIME) Int NUM_PASSED int NUM_LOOPS, int NUM_FAILED, int ENDING_LOOP_INDEX, int LOOP_INDEX, int INTERACTIVE_EXENUM, CONSTRAINT STEP_RESULT_FK FOREIGN KEY (UUT_RESULT) REFERENCES (ID))
Command failed with the following error...:
    Line 1: Syntax incorrect close '('.) (- 2147217900)

I tried to run this statement in both MSDE and through the viewer of TestStand database with similar results. Everyone knows this problem or have any ideas?

Function to generate the SQL files from a schema does not always perfect SQL statements, but closer you get to where you need to be to try to create it from scratch. Have you thought to look at the default SQL files included with the product, specifically the file "SQL Server Create Stored Proc result Tables.sql" located in the directory "\Components\Models\TestStandModels\Database?" It is a file that should work out of the box for the default schemas for SQL server and MSDE. Other SQL files for other schemas by default, and there are older SQL files for previous versions in the subdirectory 'previous patterns (2.x - 4.0).

  • Sansa Clip: Loading screen saver: can manually enable us to extend the life of the screen?

What charge the Sansa Clip: after an hour, the screen turns white (a screen saver, I guess).

I would like to activate the screen saver immediately, to extend the duration of the display.  Is it possible to do?

Or maybe in a version of firmware future, so a sequence button turn it on.

Unless the life of the screen is much longer than the lifetime of the unit in general...

    Thanks for your time.

As far as I know, you can't do it manually now.

This is the reason why some people with an adapter for recharging: when charging via AC, the display shuts off after setting the time of the backlight of your display.

Indeed, even if it bugs some of us, it is likely that display time of 1 hour during USB charging will not significantly affect the ultimate lifecycle of the screen, in the end; If I remember correctly, the screen has a life expectancy of 5000 hours or something like that (sorry, it's been a while) - it is 208 days of fulltime show all day/night long.  By the time you reach this point, probably, if ever, the battery life may have been reached, or you probably may have gone to another player, as technology improves over time.  But it's all unique to each user (if you are more rare than the user who guard 8 hours per day, life of the screen display will be reached about 1.7 years; if you use your player lot every day and are charging every day, charging via AC could save you 365 hours of projection of the time per year (, the equivalent of almost a month of 1.7 years screen time), and so you can recharge via AC just to cover as much as possible.  (More realistic, if your screen is on for 2 hours a day, which is still a lot, unless you really keep your screen on a lot, the screen should last for about 7 years or more - think where you will be and what technology you are using maybe at this time.)
