Lightroom 4 collections of deleted - photo remain fooled

Hi chaps - I was messing around with the web module and have created several "collections" to test several ideas, LR has created duplicates for all distinct collections, I'm now at the stage where I decided what to do if you want to remove all duplicates in "All photos", but I thought that if I deleted 'collection' Associates duplicates would disappear, but they are still there I would prefer not to have to go through them all manually... advice please?

Regards Roger

It seems that you told Lightroom (perhaps accidentally) to make virtual copies when adding to the collections. If you plan on this again in the future, simply turn this option, and then when you remove it from the collection, you will not have the "duplicates".

  • Can't "Remove Photos of rejected" (since Lightroom 5.6?)-deletes just to catalogue, no disc

I use Lightroom 5 (64-bit) on Windows. Recently (perhaps from the 5.6 upgrade?) I can't delete photos refused from the catalog. Instead of asking if I want to delete it from the disc or just the catalog or cancel it, as he did, he asked now if I want to remove the catalog or cancel. Files are stored on the disk. This happens if I Ctrl-Backspace or choose Photo > menu to delete rejected Photos.

Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions please? My daughter is inspired by my camera so I remove a large NUMBER of photos - without this I don't have a quick way to do it.

The dialog box to remove or cancel it contain any other information such as "unable to delete the Original... missing or offline?

If so, it simply means the connection between the file and lightroom has been lost. If they are on an external drive, plug it in.

If this isn't the case then a workaround until a permanent solution is found would be to create a folder delete on your hard drive then move files to it via the library Lightrooms Module. Remove them from the catalog, then navigate to the folder on your hard drive and delete the files from your system.

  • Deleted at the end of the album photos remain in "all photos".

    Hey there!

So I'm relatively new to OSX and for my recent trip, I decided to use photos to organize my photos. So, I advanced and created several albums and import photos directly into their and began organizing and deleting unwanted album photos (500 +). However I just found out that every single picture, including the removed are still in the library 'everything '. There is nothing that allows me to keep only the photos that I've already sorted in the album I did? I tried to remove the library of all but that obviously all deletes everything and leaves the album trip empty as well...

Any chance of an easy solution for me?

    Thank you!

    NO.

But it pays to learn the software before major projects - albums is not a place and photos are not duplicated when you add them to an album - elements of organization when you remove forms an album they are not being deleted just removed form the album

If you delete Photos or pictures you remove library and each place - you can remove all places while watching an album if you select photos and press command + DELETE or right-click and delete photos "n" (deleting photos "n" simply removed them from the album

Now that you deleted you pictures of the albums you have no way to identify them except to go backup through pictures or Photos and deleting there are remove the entire library and starting over

  • deleting photos with indicator

I am a new user of LR (migrated the PSE, I used intensively for 6 years).
My question: I have labeled pictures as REJECT and select for them and remove them. They are all part of a collection (a set within a collection).

When you try to delete, I get the message:

You can not delete photos directly from a set of collection.

Try to remove the photos from the collections inside this

set or remove photos in the Lightroom Catalog.

    Any suggestions?

    Tom

    Tom,

First of all, you should know that deleting a picture while you are viewing a collection simply removes the photo of this collection, not in the catalog. (Unless you use Ctrl-Alt-Shift + Delete which totally get rid you of this image.) If you want to remove an image from LR, you must be in a folder.

As the message says, Lightroom will not allow you to delete a photo when you're looking at him within a defined Collection. A Collection is a set of collections. This photo may belong to several collections within the whole, if LR does not know which collection to remove it from. That is why the message offers you different choices to delete the file.

  • Supprimer delete photos on iPhone, keep on mac using ICloud?

Hello! How do I remove photos from my iPhone and always keep them on my mac? I use iCloud and have about 50 GB of Photos on my phone. My plan is bigger than that, but again, I don't want to have that many photos on my iPhone (but keep them on my mac). Is this possible? I tried to import on my Mac, but it doesn't show me all the pictures are on my phone. It shows me about 3000 instead of 11000... TIA

    Julievite g ' Day,.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I see that you want to remove photos from your iPhone, but still keep the photos on your Mac. Use the article import pictures and videos from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to import all the photos from your iPhone to your Mac, more specifically, this section:

    Import into your Mac.

You can use Photos for OS X to import photos from your iOS device to your Mac without using iCloud photo library. This procedure also works for the import of images from digital cameras and SD cards.

    1. Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or digital camera to your Mac with a USB cable. If you use an SD card, insert it into the SD slot on your Mac, or connect using a card reader.
    2. You need to unlock your iOS device using your access code. You can also see a prompt on the device iOS asking you to Trust This Computer. Tap the confidence to continue.
    3. On your Mac, the Photos app automatically opens. If not, open the Photos app.
    4. The Photos app shows a screen of import with all photos and videos that can be found on the connected device. If the import screen does not automatically appear, click the Import tab at the top of the Photos app, or click on the name of the device in the sidebar of Photos.
    5. To import a selection of photos, click the ones you want, and then click Import selection. To import all new pictures, click Import all Photos again.
    6. Once the import is complete, a message asks if you want to delete or keep the photos on your device. Click on remove items to remove photos or click on keep items to keep them on the device.
If you select keep items, you will need to remove them directly from your device when you want to remove.
    7. You can now disconnect your device from your Mac. If you imported photos from an SD card or USB, safely eject the device first device.

Imported photos appear in the album last import of the Photos app.

Photos and videos that sync you from your computer on your device iOS through iTunes can be imported to your computer.

Know what to do If you can not import pictures from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer.

Once you have made sure all the photos have been imported to your Mac, you can then safely remove them from your iPhone. The iPhone user guide has the steps to remove photos from your iPhone, in particular, this section:

Delete a picture or video from pictures. Click on the Photos tab, tap the photo or video, press on , then press to remove the Photo or video delete. Deleted photos and videos are stored in the album recently deleted on iPhone, with a badge showing the remaining days until the item is permanently deleted from the iPhone. To permanently delete the photo or video before the days expire, tap the item, tap on delete, then remove the Photo or video delete. If you use iCloud photo library, deleted photos and videos are permanently removed from all your devices using iCloud photo library with the same Apple ID.

  • Deleting photos in the screenshots, Pano & Selfies

It seems that if I delete a photo in the captures of screen, Pano & Selfies Albums, they have removed from my library.  But if I delete other Albums or smart albums, I created, they album gets deleted but my photos because albums are still in my library.  Why they don't even work?

The albums smart 'Panoramic', 'Selfies', etc.  are built in.  They will appear automatically, if any photo from your library meets the constraint for this album.  You cannot delete the albums, onlyy delete photos that are active albums.

It seems that if I delete a photo in the captures of screen, Pano & Selfies Albums, they have removed from my library.

If you remove a photo from a smart album with ⌘⌫, also if you remove a smart album, you have set yourself, the photo is moved to the recently deleted album.  This is exactly the same for integrated and intelligent albums albums create yourself.

If you delete a smart album, you have yourself set up, the photos will remain in the library, but as said above, you cannot delete the built-in albums, you can delete only the photos in the album.

Settings > General > storage > storage section is at the top.

Did you remove photos from the film? If so, the photos transferred from the recently deleted album. They can remain there for 30 days allow for their recovery. But if you need to free up space on the iPhone you should remove again the album photos recently deleted.

They can be imported again if:

1 > you simply removed the image from Lightroom and chose not to remove it.

    Or

2 > you deleted the file, but have not yet emptied the Recycle Bin or the trash. In this case, you can restore the picture on his previous record.

In both cases, you will need to import the picture again or synchronize the file.

I like to create a smart collection of all photos taken from a specific date as December 24, for all years!

My collection of "All photos" fills upward with images that aren't mine... most of them look like Microsoft icons.  How can I get rid of them and prevent any more?

Right-click on one of the images icons Microsoft and select "Go to library folder." Check if you have imported inadvertently a system folder or documents. Check the folder in the library 'Files' pane and if it's a subfolder to navigate to the top-level folder. Make sure that it does not contain any image files you want inside LR by checking the names of all the subfolders. If in doubt always select menu library > "Show pictures in subfolders", then in grid mode through the images. Once confirmed you can 'remove' unwanted images from LR by doing a right click on the top-level folder and selecting 'delete '. The files will be deleted from LR, but not your hard drive.
