Lightroom 6 supports 10-bit color depth?

I am a user of Lightroom 5.7.

I know version 6 introduced the gpu acceleration, but the 10-bit color depth has been introduced through openCL?

No 6 LR does not support monitors 10bits AFAIK. Lightroom performs all the calculations in 16-bit precision, but for display on a screen, the images are always reduced to 8-bit.

  • Illustrator CC 2014 supports 16-bit color?

I am trying to create an image to grayscale using RGB.  The RGB components can go up to 255.  Illustrator supports 16-bit color I have a range of 0-65535?  I could not find this information in the documentation.  A range of 0-255 is not enough for me.

    Thank you.

No, it does not support 16-bit. You can try to put a 16-bit psd, and you will get a message that it will only import a version of 8-bit image because Illustrator doesn't support 16-bit images.

  • 10-bit color depth / 30-bit on old iMac?

I recently bought a Cintiq 27qhd and connected to my iMac 21 "mid-2011. It looks wonderful, however, there are still some bands present. I know that this screen Cintiq is able to show billions of colors and yesterday that I have updated to El Captain because I heard that it supports Deep Color / 10 cintiq little, but even after update runs under 32-bit instead of 30.

Is it possible to fix this? If this isn't the case, then be iMac 4K allow color 30 bits on my Cintiq?

Moreover, my GPU is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6770 and I don't know if it takes Deep Color supported or not, since I did not google try it:.

    Hey there tinangelnyo,

Congratulations on the new Cintiq 27qhd. The iMac has almost infinite creative design 3rd party accessories. In reviewing your question, it would be certainly a lot if you could use the 32 bit version or -30. Given the nature of this question, the best resource will be the developers of your Cintiq. They have a wide range of supported features which can be found here:

  • PCoIP on 16-bit colors

One question. When I open a PCoIP session, my display configuration tab does not appear, sometimes, when it appears, I can't seem to change the bit depth of 16 bit, it change to 32-bit when I applied the change.

What I can do this on the Protocol PCoIP? Why configuration tab appear sometimes and not another?

    Thank you.

PCoIP only support 32 - bit color, when you install the agent view it will change the 32-bit color setting and not allow it to be changed.

  • PSE 8 refuses to handle 16-bit colors

When I tried to import some picture I took last in PSE 8 and section photo-Panorama

I received the following Photoshop Elements with a triangle and yellow [!] message This action cannot be performed on a file with the 16-bit color depth

You want to convert to 8 bits/channel

The other problem, it didn't load all the photos I had to check to load

Any ideas as to why it happened

Camera was Pentax K10D that shouldn't be the problem?

In lightroom under file > export, you should be able to export your 8-bit files.

Also, you might have a look at this plugin for lightroom, which allows Lightroom

use photoshop elements as much as she uses photoshop.

I tried several times in the past to use 16-bit files with photomerge and while he

has worked sometimes, other times I had the same problem that it is necessary. So I decided

just to convert my files in 8-bit and avoid all that. (photomerge for this, anyway)

I suspect that is the reason why you were wrong to open the rest of your files after

    the first condition in photomerge.

  • Satellite Pro P100-327 screen color depth/quality problem

Hi guys, my first post! Had my Tosh for 3 years now. I now have a problem with the display. It seems that the color depth is really down or something... as I stumble on the 8-bit color depth. Everything seems strongly Posterization in the graphical sense.

I uninstalled the video drivers and reinstalled a new, former, a version of toshiba, a version of the nvidia driver and all have no effect on the problem. No joy!

I went through and checked all the settings of resolution and color depth, and trawled through the many pages of settings nvidia and played with all the reasonable parameters to find the problem. No change. All reset to how I found it.

I've been reading through the forums and not really found something specific. If I missed it, then I would a link here slapped on my face to show how incompetent I am! ;)

I will however try to disconnect the battery and the power for an hour and turn it on again later as this seems to be the standard solution or must try for everything. What do this exactly? Reset of the BIOS/CMOS etc?

    Thanks in advance!

  • ATI Radeon HD 4870 and 10-bit color

I recently bought an ATI Radeon HD 4870 graphics card to the address used (Apple model #-MB999ZM/A) to install in my Mac Pro early 2008. This card was originally proposed by Apple as an upgrade to the previous Mac Pros. The card has a mini display port (and a DVI - D port). I'm under El Capitan on my Mac Pro. I have a NEC PA 302W monitor capable of 10-bit color. Can someone tell me if the ATI HD 4870 card supports 10-bit color to my monitor? I was encouraged to learn the Forum that pilots (and I hope that their updates) for graphics cards supported are automatically included in the Mac OS. I'd appreciate any help that anyone can give me. The card is scheduled to be delivered next week. Thank you, Jack

Apple has changed that in El Capitan. According to Mac and I, Apple has confirmed that the new 5 K and 4 K iMac (as well as the iMac 2014 5 K) supported a pilot chart 10-bit that has been activated with the release of El Capitan.

    First of all, apparently it only works on the 4K & 5 K 2015 iMac & iMac 5 K 2014 now.
[UPDATE]: a cinema5D reader reported that he got 10 bits on a Mac Pro with D500 graphics and monitor Eizo CS230.

Also, currently it only works in preview and photo applications. If you want to test, you can take a photo RAW 12 bit with gradations of soft color and take a look. But it is also important to note that, for the moment, not other applications, such as Adobe or another editing software, take advantage of this treatment, again. This is just a preview of what is to come.

    From:

    https://www.cinema5D.com/5K-iMac-10-bit-color/

Apparently it's just this now. When/if 4870 supports, it's guessing.

  • GeForce® GTX 760 30-bit color display?

Hello! I searched a lot but couldn't find a clear answer. Is it possible to output 10-bit (10 bits per channel) of an ASUS GeForce® GTX 760 color DirectCU II?

or do I need a Nvidia Quadro for whom?

    Thanks in advance!

Actually Yes, Geforce cards can produce 10-bit color via HDMi and displayport. However they are supported only with applications that use DirectX for the API. Support 10-bit color Quadro via Open GL. Adobe uses Open GL, so you would need a Quadro card for 10-bit with Adobe on video cards. However, you can get a map of IO as a card Aja or Blackmagic card and get 10 bit color overview this way which is what I would say since these that a gross result of enforcement and the color space is not performed by the operating system or the video driver.

  • PSE8 color depth

Can PSE8 edit and save files with 30-bit color depth?

Yes.   PSE can change the time 8 bit-by-color files and 16-bits-per-color. Many scanners produce 10 bits/color (30 bits per pixel), which get stored in 16 bit/color (48 bits per pixel).

Note that a number of commands in the PES editor does not work on 16 bit images.  In general, commands that manipulate the entire image (for example, levels, brightness/contrast, most of the filters) work on images 16 bits, whereas commands for manipulating individual pixels and selections (including diapers) only works on 8-bit images.

  • Is Lightroom 4.4 a 24-bit color, or 48-bit color program.  I want to scan in photos and film using a scanner Epson Perfection 600 V Photo

I am shocked that I can not find this information in the Adobe manual or the plug, or anywhere on their web site.

Lightroom supports 8 bits per channel (24 bit color) and 16-bit per channel (48 bit color). However, it has no support for scanning. Therefore, you will need to scan your images using the software provided with the scanner or a third party alternative, then import images into Lightroom.

  • How to convert a Tiff image to JPEG without being FORCED to 8-bit color?

I'm an artist.  I have high quality TIFF images.  When I convert TIFF to jpeg it make me color 8-bit automatically. (Forget about 32 bit - it does not in jpeg format that at all)   The only way that I can return to the 16-bit color is to use the already broken file and bring it up to 16 bits.  IT makes NO sense at all.  Once the jpeg format is broken, how is the world supposed to convert back to the top. ??  So even though it says that you have converted the 16 - bit file, metadata is always about the 8-bit file.

In addition to en plus de tout all this confusion, an image, for example, in the case of so-called converted to 16-bit, gets a lot grow so even the original Tiff image.  It looks good on the one hand and more exposed on the other.  I guess that's throwing in resolution photoshop fake, I'm good?

I'm wasting my time with this 16-bit imaginary conversion?

Is it possible to take the original Tiff image and convert default 8-bit to 16-bit jpeg without value?  I tried all sorts of things.  I even asked my web guy.  My web guy said only 8 bits is unexceptable for printing, same for the web.

Would this have something to do with my computer and the scanner?

I have the memory of 8 GB iMAC OS X 10.8.3 (3.2 GHz).

And I also have a capable graphic arts Epson Expression 10000XL scanner from scanniing to 48-bit color.

This color stuff is really important!  This is IMPORTANT!  I have files FINE art.  I'm already losing so much quality with jpeg conversion. (which I am required to do for SmugMug, in addition to the compression of all my files of 50 MB or less)

Anyone who knows anything that could help me would be much appreciated.

    Aloha,

    -Melissa

First jpeg is 8-bit only it there's no way to register as a 16 or 32-bit jpg, just does not exist. Secondly people print in 8 bit all the time and most if not all web graphics are 8-bit because this is the only way to see because there is no 32-bit or 16-bit monitors to see. All pro monitors are 8-bit monitors.

If you like on the color range and want the range of colors that provide 16 and 32 bit, so why jpg? Jpg by his own nature throws of color just to compress, why it is popular on the web, because of its small file size not its quality. If you need 16 or 32-bit for what it is, it must be in a format that supports this color depth.

That being said, that a jpg to 8 bit image displays 16 million colors, 256 shades of red, 256 shades of green and 256 shades of blue.

Now, here's where I think your information bit is disabled. a jpg image is a 24-bit image that will produce 8-bit red, 8-bit, 8 bits of blue and green.

8, 16 and 32 channel are not total not the color information.

If the overall picture was of 8 bits, the image would be gayscale.
