  You can use Dell encryption key Manager to create and import keys. In addition to set the password for the keystore.

  I have a problem I had since LR2 and have discovered that it continues in LR3.  I hope that the geniuses here can help...

  I have an export preset user who creates a size max JPG and includes it in the catalog.  _Almost_ works perfectly, but there is always a key word or two lost in the translation.

  A specific example, I have a DNG with the following key words:

  "citrus", "Board", "fresh fruits", melon, food, fresh, fruit, half, knife, melon, organic, snack, white wood,

  When I export to jpg, adding to the catalog, the list of keywords is:

  "citrus", "Board", "fresh fruits", melon, food, fresh, fruit, half, knife, organic snack, melon, white

  The last keyword is truncated and does not.  This is not 100%, but is the most common occurrence.  Sometimes another keyword will be also absent, but the last is the most common to lose.

  No problem get subject key words on the new file?

  Are there any hierarchical keywords among them?

  Try checking write keywords as Lightroom hierarchy in export.

  I fixed it!

  I couldn't work at all Internet Explore.  I finally installed Superantispyware from a USB pendrive and it ran in safe mode without network.  So I ran Malwarebytes and ccleaner.  After a reboot, everything works great again.  I could install Microsoft Security Essentials and get current updates.  After a smart defrag it turns really well now.

  I was able to make a recovery cd set too.  It will be just as good as if I he burned them on a new computer?  I mean can the data used to make these CDs get corrupted over time?  This laptop is 6 years old.

  Go to the Panel control, region, language, keyboards & languages, change keyboards, tab bar of language and, if you regularly change language settings, make the hidden language bar. I think you have touched a keyboard shortcut that has hired it & changed the region / language settings and therefore caused this problem.

  Then go to control panel, region, language, keyboards & languages, change keyboards, advanced settings tab key where you can see the key sequence of shortened which probably you entered this problem by chance. You will also see the sequence of modifier keys that you want to change by clicking on the button sequence of modifier keys and by setting the input language switch & switch keyboard to not [when I changed them, I had to define not entitled for the switch input language and accept change, and then return to the dialog box to set no affect for the keyboard switch setting].

  I have upgraded to windows 10, knowing that I could restore at anytime because I got the CD and the product key for windows 8 (OEM version). Now that windows 10 will soon be available in full version, I would rollback, get my free upgrade, then reported complete. However, flooded House, the items have been moved and ive lost the product key. I still have the oem box and cd. Can I get the product key? Or do I have to buy it again. I always receive amazon for her as well. I know I can get the full version if I continue to test, but I don't want to do that.

• Lost my key words

  I use LR 2.3 and have my files, the files in RAW and LR, formats on an external hard drive. So far it works very well with two PC with Win XP.

  A few weeks ago, I got a new laptop runing Vista and installed LR. I have it configured with the settings on the external hard drive. It worked fine until the other night, when I open LR. All my keywords has been reset. They began with white beeing and the numbers to the right of the captain. Then up and down the East went gray and says zero.

  The only handful of keywords that remained was these attached to peak imported on this laptop.

  I tried with the last backup catalog - no result.

  Can I restore my keywords, if so, how?

  Please forgive my English is not my mother tongue.

  You wrote "two parts".  You does not mean two PC with access to the external drive, you did?

  The question is a bit like the question "do you know where your children are.  Do you know where are your pictures?  You connected the new CD-ROM drive to your new computer with the same drive letter?  And you know that your new images are stored in the same place as your old images?

  The "last backup" is maybe not old enough.  How often do you back up?  When you say key words and figures were breed white and the numbers then went to zero.  Is it in one sitting so that you watched?  What did you do before he did it?

  If you have old backups it should be possible to recover them, but to maintain the information for files that you have added since can be tricky.  Especially trying to explain what to do on this forum.  Also, I of course would like to understand what happened before I try to move forward.

  Please do a search using the search function of your operating system, for all files whose name ends in. LRCAT and then open each found by double-clicking on it to see if it's the catalogue with photos.

I Jag hogerklickade pa set (Natur) med bilder som jag hade ett keywordslistan under all the och rakade sedan maybe pa keywords convert to the keyword of the person.  Nu Finns den katalaogen naturbilder med Baden under och All People.  Forsoker radera den jag under people forsvinner den helt.   Is there someone who could help me regarding the list of keywords in Lightroom 6. I have a right-click on one set of photos (Nature) I have been in the list of key words in all and other and for some reason

  I clicked on Convert Keywords to Person Keyword. The catalog Nature with all the pictures in that set (some thousands) are now available in All, Others and People, but I don’t want it in People. I have tried to delete it in People but then it disappears completely. Does anyone know how I can remove the set under People without losing it. 

  Great, because unfortunately there is no way to reverse this conversion to keywords people - other than editing each one individually, or by using undo (if you haven't left Lightroom since their conversion). So I recommend restore you the backup catalog.

• Keywords from Lightroom and IPTC fields

  Does anyone know if Lightroom actually wrote the keywords in the IPTC image file field? I'm new to LR, and me are familiar to the bridge, where the keywords are actually added to the same file, but as there is so much faster keywording in LR than Bridge, I fear that the tags are not written in the files, but only in the LR database, so I need to export the image keyworded to obtain aid of keywords in the field image IPTC field. Am I wrong? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

  Key words originally in the basis of LR but when you export an image you can include metadata,

  

  You also have the option to save metadata to the files from the Menu metadata > save metadata to file...

  For the PSD, JPG, TIFF, DNG this will write the key words in the file. For raw files, it will produce a file.
