Lightroom CC fails to install

  • Windows 7 Enterprise x 64 on a domain
  • Installation of products CC for an ordinary user
  • Only Lightroom is unable to install because of a weird permission problem

I am an administrator tries to install Lightroom CC (2015) for a client on our computer on our domain. I installed the CC Office with the client connected to its domain account and then entered the domain administrator credentials when you are prompted. I then ran the CC Office always on the customer's account, has begun the installation of Lightroom and again entered the administrator credentials when you are prompted. This has been the standard procedure in the past with Adobe CC facilities.

This time, the installation of Lightroom fails with exit code 7, "ERROR: DF016: could not create the directory" < path to Documents on the network share of the admin >------... \Desktop ".» Error 5 access denied... ».  Analyze log files revealed that the installer is properly from folder to the local user profile of the client suitable for various purposes until it is supposed to create this folder. At this time the installer chooses to use network sharing of the administrator account which of course is not accessible to the ordinary user account.

So I decided to do it again to uninstall all Adobe, restarting, using the Creative Cloud Cleanup Utility, restart and removing all remaining files in C:\Program Files [(x 86)] \Adobe. This time I gave the account of the customer installed Desktop CC local administrator privileges, connected to this topic and began the installation of Lightroom. Once again, to 24 percent, Lightroom Setup failed with exit code 7, ERROR: DF016: could not create the directory "------< path to Documents on the correct network share >..." \Desktop. Error 5 access denied... So this time the user does not have access to their own network share. How can this be? I checked the permissions and tested in practice. The user has full access to it, there almost 10 GB of free space, and successfully, we have created and deleted files and folders there. Yet, somehow CC Installer happens not to him.

I tried troubleshooting with the exit code usual 6 / exit code 7 troubleshooting and Googling for hours but nothing helped. The strange, only Lightroom fails. All other products in CC (Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat etc. first) install correctly.

UPDATE:

I've temporarily changed home directory of the user to a local path for another chance to install Lightroom. I cleaned first CC with the cleaning tool. Now the installer just wants to create (mentioned in the error message) directory to the base directory of the admin account. In CC desktop settings, there is a correct path for files (C:\Users\) and the installation location is set to C:\Program Files\Adobe. They are probably not important, but I thought I would mention them anyway.

We give up. It takes too much time. The installation program just trying to do something useless and fails and we have the tools nor the desire to debug it further. We will use Photoshop instead.
