Lightroom import anything

I have been using Lightroom for a few days now and have been able to import photos without problem from my hard drive. I decide to use Lightroom to import images directly from my camera that worked well. However, as I did, I can't Lightroom to import all the photos at all; and my library is empty (my fault I work with several years of images evidence so I try to only have files in Lightroom I work with at the moment). I tried the normal patches restart my computer and uninstalling and reinstalling and still nothing. How can I fix?

I found the answer on the forum that I don't know why it works, but it does:

  • Why don't my 5.3 Lightroom import files more?

I am on a Mac with Lightroom freshly installed 5.3. It worked perfectly for a few days during the import of my iPhone or my 6 d (from the card reader). Suddenly, he stopped it. I went through all the discussions and I tried the following steps:

-Remove the preferences file (and re - start Lightroom)

    -Reinstall Lightroom

-create a new catalog (won't work either)

-check the permissions (as at the beginning, he could tell me that it can't read my files - but they worked perfectly!), which were very good

-allowed the paths of the files 'recently used' the import dialog

    -restarted my Mac once gazillion

    -updated the RAW software

-re-installed Lightroom again (but having removed virtually all of the HD which was related to Lightroom)

It simply doesn't get it. But before I re-installed to Lightroom, it would still give me the "error: cannot read the files ' sign. Now it begins simply import (the progress bar starts in any case) and then it just stops at a given time, not importing anything. Lightroom does not freeze, it is not just anything, and the progress bar stops. I wanted to attach a screenshot to show you what it looks like now, but that has not worked either, so whatever.

Here's the thing: it still works in Lightroom 4. So now, I've been importing into Lightroom 4 and add the files without moving them to Lightroom 5. But what kind of workflow is what? It is literally killing me because I paid money for software and I was patient enough to review all the dysfunctions, but I'm really out of wit. I hope someone can help me with this problem.

    Thanks in advance.

In my past experience of debugging this problem, the file that you have checked the permissions is not the exact record that attempts to write to Lightroom. Accidentally, things have changed, or the default 5 LR is perhaps different from what you think. In any case, screenshots would confirm that he is or is not the same folder with the appropriate permissions.

It looks like you can be pretty new to Lightroom.  If this is the case, you will find Victoria Bampton useful books:

  • I use Lightroom CC and one of my cameras is a Canon SX-50HS. Why Lightroom importing crop images? It does not perform this task for any image created on other devices.

Automatically import the cultures these images, Yes to develop I can uncrop them but I would have preferred that the images come shot.

You can set this camera to various Image Ratio - 1:1, 5:4, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9

You set your ratio desired for JPG images.

Lightroom imports the image of full 4000 x 3000 sensor size (4:3) and applies to the culture according to 'Camera' Image ratio (16:9, perhaps).

Set camera Image ratio 4:3 in the menu of the camera and you have the problem of harvest.

  • HELP ASAP! Can't import anything in Flash

I am supposed to create a background of Parallax on Flash, but for some reason, Flash won't let me import anything on stage or in the library. I made the background in Photoshop and I try to import it into Flash and it does not give me the option to import the image. I saved the background in PNG and PSD and even tried JPEG, but it doesn't always let me. I do not understand why and I even tried to import sprites that I imported and animation on Flash of previous classes and she also won't let me import it either. I checked if I need to update Flash, but CC says that everything is up-to-date.

I followed the steps I learned in class when I try to import my background. I basically just open Flash, create the new symbol (video clip) then file > import > import in the scene (I'm in the symbol, I checked) and Flash will let me import it (it is shaded in grey). That's how I remember to import my sprites and quickly, I checked my notes and I seem to do everything right. Please help and thank you!

    Try to drag the bridge

  • Cannot import anything in the timeline.

I just bought a new laptop today. and cs6 pp installed on it.

It seems to be a problem, I've never seen before, I can't import anything in the timeline to edit.

It's not even the usual audio/video tabs showing.

I use Windows 8, its an i7-3632QM Acer Aspire 2.2 ghz with turbo boost up to 3.2

Intel HD GRAPHICS 4000 with up to 1 760 dynamic video memory MB.

Someone I bougt garage the laptop just to make video stuff, and now I can't get anything done, can help please.

You have created a sequence in the project Panel? You will only be able to drag files to the timeline since you have a sequence in your project. If you do not have a sequence, just double click it to open his chronology.

Another way to automatically create image sequences must drag the item from the project Panel to the icon of a new element at the bottom of the Panel even. This will create the sequence and import are the images too.

  • If Lightroom import parameters of the disc or replace the disc of the catalog settings

When the 'up' arrow key appears in a thumbnail and comes up with the message:

The metadata for one or more of these photos has been changed by another application. Lightroom import settings from disk or replace drive with the catalog settings?

What exactly means?  This seems to happen every time I have to export an image in PS (CS5) and back to LR.  What has changed exactly?  Which settings are imported if I choose "import settings from disk."

I think it would be best to not think in terms of what LR 'applies' changes. Because LR stores the changes made in the catalog, the changes are "applied" to the image on export. I think that it would be preferable to use the term 'view' instead of 'apply '.

Then: when LR, you open a RAW image in PS the LR-changes made until then are displayed in PS and then "apply" when you save a PS (don't forget PS CS5 opens the RAW image).

If you do more edits in PS and save these, LR will display these changes - you will then notice on back of the PS, LR will be re - load the image. On 'Save' PS applies (and here the term 'applicable' is correct) the changes by writing them in the image file. LR reads the saved file and displays it with PS-changes.

But the LR catalog settings are still in the State of the point in time before you open the image in PS. It is so because PS writes the changes to the image file and not in the LR catalog. So now you have a set of changes in the LR catalog and another set of changes in the image file.

To describe it as ' a little 'too top' with the PS applied, changes but it really has not applied the "isn't making the case because LR 'applies' only to export. LR doing at this stage is read the image with PS-changes file and display the image accordingly.

But LR "feels" that what is displayed is not what is in the catalog online.

This is the conflict that Lr wants to solve by popping the message.

You say "if so, then you really would like to import settings from disk so that the file will be PS changes, right?  "

Yes, if you wish that your changes-PS to replace your previous changes LR.

Now, I came to where I do not fixtures in PS that I can do in LR - and I do not fixtures in LR that PS is preferable to a workflow.

In practice: in PS, I do the cloning and also noise reduction when the LR - NR is not enough (for example in the noisy analyses).

I don't do any tonal or color adjustments to the PS because it is easier in Lr and gives me better results.

When the message appears, select 'Replace disk settings' - it keeps all Lr changes and does not overwrite the cloning.

  • Impossible to import anything in the 4.0 body (CS4)

Hello. A few months ago, I downloaded the demo of pro CS4 and I first got right down to install. Installation went well.

However, now that I've created a sequence but I can't import anything in the list of files. Not, videos avi, m2v MPEG2 or AVCHD no no jpeg images, no mp3 files. NOTHING! When I try to drag the cursor changes to a red circle with a line crossing. If I go to the import of files, I get the box indicating import and the bar goes to 100%, but nothing happens.

Ive tried with different sequences, pal ntsc, HD, SD. all the same.

Any help? I'd like to try CS4 before my 30 days...

Im running vista x 32 and have Kaspersky antivirus installed

It's sad that the trial has no mpeg support.

It's because of the license of the MainConcept CODEC. Adobe would have to pay for each version of the track and could not get a sale out of it. Fully-paid version has everything included and installed. This is just the trial, who does not.

The avi file, I tried was a divx encoded in pal (interlaced) video. I tried two more different.

That's what I had planned. DivX and Xvid (version open source) are first not intended to be edited and broadcast highly compressed formats. While you may have the necessary CODEC to play these files on your system, PrPro cannot edit with them. Now, you can convert these files into files DV - AVI Type II and they would work well, with the exception of this loss of quality due to the encoding DivX first.

put to the test various jpeg files. each of them is visible in the viewer of images very well. a pixel dimension, I used was 2288 x 1712 pixels.

This part is strange indeed. I thought it would be giant 12 MP files, or something. It should work perfectly. They are a little big, but not what I expected. PrPro manage image up to 4000 on the largest dimension. Something is happening. I'll get back to that in a moment.

I think that the problem here is that there is something wrong with the import process. There is no error message. as I said, all isee is a red circle with a line through as a slider when I try to drag and drop while if I use the file-> import, it seems that things are normal, except when the file has been processed, I do not see in the workspace from sources, and there is nothing for me to drag in the timeline.

OK, let's go through the steps to create a project, active import and then use them on the Timeline. Let's try this with your JPEG, although if we had used active AV, things would be more battleships.

1.) from the screen, choose new project/sequence. You will get a screen of dialogue. Here, you choose a preset that matches your assets in Motion, but we do not have. [You could also choose office, as a preset and establish custom settings].

(2.) in your new project, open the chronology of the sequence, choose file > import, and navigate to your JPEG. Choose them. Now, they will appear in your project Panel. This is where your project assets are listed. DBL-click on one, and it should open in the Source monitor. There was also a small thumbnail of it in the project Panel. If everything is OK, go to step 3.

3.) click in the header of the Timeline where it says "Video 1". It will highlight. In the project Panel, drag one of the JPEG 1 video track.

    That worked?

    Good luck

  • Imports to Lightroom CC sees CF Card in the drive but does see not all images, impossible to import anything

I installed CC with Lightroom.  It seems to work, but if I connect a card with a CF card reader, while Lightroom sees the card, he sees some images.  I copy the files on a hard drive and import from there.  How can I fix this annoying problem?

I'm closing this request.  I got on the phone with the Support from Adobe and naturally when we tried to reproduce the problem with their specialist on the phone, everything worked fine on both computers.

  • All of a sudden Lightroom import my. ARW files. He has done it before...

I don't know what happened. I won't change anything in my process but now my. Files raw ARW of Sony NEX - 5n and Sony NEX - 5 cameras won't matter. They have done before. I tried different cards, different card readers, import to different locations on different drives, nothing works. I can't find any settings to change. That's happened?

    Much better.

Often this message really means that the files could not be written, and in this case, it means that you encounter permissions issues with the files you want LR to move/copy the images.

What happens when you click Add in the import dialog? This is the option that requires the authorization of lightroom the images imported into the folder they are in. Try it with a couple of files as an experiment.

    Ja.

  • Lightroom Import issues with update

I'm trying to import into LR.  He began the process but never finished.  Import gets about a quarter of the way through then never complete.  It has been sitting in the same place for several hours.  I tried 4 times.  A few times I had to "Force quit" Lightroom.

I did the last update CC and done all the usual troubleshooting.  Computer restarted etc...

I use a Mac more old which is not compatible with the update of the Sierra.  I'm afraid that's the question that nothing has changed since my last import.

Starting from which you import the files? Camera? Card? Disc? HARD DRIVE?

Are you able to try another method? Card reader cable

Are you able to transfer the images to your hard drive via drag and drop in the Finder?

If so, what happens when you try to import from there?
