Lightroom Import question file.

I use Lightroom 4.4 on a Desk Top PC running a version of Windows 7 Professional. I shoot with a Nikon D800 to RAW which generates a NEF file. Usually, when I import files into Lightroom, I copy and convert as DGN files. I used this procedure to import hundreds of photos with the same programs and camera without any problems.

However, I am having a recent batch of pictures without success for download. When I import from the flash memory card all continues as usual until I click on the import button. Lightroom starts the process, and then presents a window called "Import the results" with the following message - some import operations was made: the following files were not imported because they could not be read - then gives a list of files. I downloaded successfully are the same pictures of the same card flash to a Lap Top to operate Windows 7 and 4.4 of Lightroom.

I'm puzzled and frustrated! Any help or solution would be appreciated.

Hi William,.

In the import window, please check there is a selected top right folder (Destination) and also please check permissions to the location where you are trying to import images.

Kind regards

  • Lightroom 3 ceased to import CRW2 files

I have a Canon 5 d MarkII uses a Mac and I used Lightroom 3 with this camera perfectly until last month.  Suddenly he ceased to import my files CRW2.  I took my card to a different location and that you can import into lightroom 3 on a windows machine.  I disabled some security software, renamed catalogs and downloaded a DNG file.  I am at a loss.  Should I just reinstall lightroom?

Probably not. You get an error message "the file could not be read '? If so, the real problem is that the files could not be moved/copied in the folder you specified when importing. Make sure that you are allowed to write to the directories in question. In addition, make sure you have free space on this drive.

  • 5 Lightroom import not shooting information with JPEG files

When I shoot in raw 5 Lightroom doesn't have no problem importing my shooting information.  I try the super fine jpeg on an Olympus MDGs em 10 mark ii.  Lightroom matter very good photos, but there is no shooting of information that accompanies the photos.  Anyone know of a fix?  Thank you.

Triple-check that you do not have an import of metadata preset active.  In the import window, right column, under apply during import, make sure that metadata are set to None before importing JPEG files:

If this does not help, please download a JPEG sample directly from the camera (not imported by LR) card to Dropbox or similar and post the link here. We will check that indeed the EXIF metadata that are compatible with LR 5.

    Hi paulw,

For existing images whose exposure have changed, please select all and go to photo > develop settings > reset.

For import next session, please follow the steps below:

    1. Turn off apply tone auto under Lightroom preferences settings
    2. Restart Lightroom and then import images again.

  • Lightroom will not import cr2 files in el capitan

Installed El Capitan on my iMac, and now Lightroom CC will read imported CR2 files. No problem prior to El Capitan. What is the problem?

Thanks, Sarika. Yes, that's the problem. The external drive is "read only".

Use disk utility, it doesn't allow me to change the permissions. This leads

me to the conclusion that the disc is "endangered". Fortunately, I have

    backups.

    Thanks again!

    Lance

This is because more than likely than external is formatted in format Windows NTFS and you had a utility installed in your earlier version of Mac OS X that could write in NTFS formatted disks and the update of El Capitan deleted this utility. OS X can read NTFS disks natively, but impossible to write in this format. You must update this utility a version that works with El Capitan.

  • Cc of Lightroom will not import my files, it is said that they are not recognized, why it doesn't matter that a DNG and not a raw file, I use a canon 5 3

Can someone tell me why Lightroom cc wants to import my files under a DNG, I used to import as a raw file, it says the files are not recognized, I use a Canon 5 3 and never had the problem before, he said actually the Raw Format is not supported in Lightroom.

    Thanks in advance John.

    Hi, dj_paige,

I managed to sort it out, the problem was when I used my Kingston card reader to import my images in LR Cc, it would not recognize the file format, so when I thought a little more, tired of importing directly from my 5 d 3, it worked very well, so now I need to find a card reader supports LR CC ,

Thanks for your reply, regards, John.

  • Why aren't my import NEF files in Lightroom 5 more?

I have a camera of Nikon D7100, I shoot RAW in.  I imported these NEF files into Lightroom 5 of my camera on previous occasions, but recently I wanted to import new photos.  The new photos show on the Lightroom Import screen, but when I click on the button import the software acts as he begins the process of import, but never done, finally showing a warning box saying the file could not be read.  What happens and how can I solve this problem?

I'm not familiar with the Apple disk utility to repair permissions, but if it does not change the permissions on the destination folder, then she will not solve the problem. In addition, sometimes people accidentally change the destination folder, and all of a sudden, the record isn't what you think it is. The symptom of labour stopped is often associated with an accidental change in the destination directory.

So my advice in this situation is to actually determine what file is specified as the destination in the import dialog box (cela there looking in the dialog box import and make a note of which folder it is; not to assume whether the folder that you have always used) and then change the permissions on this file WRITE permission.

  • 5.4 Lightroom import is not on a network cr2 files?

    Well, that's unfortunate.

New iMac, just out of the box, the operating system updated.

New subscription Adobe CC, all set to date.

5.4 neither Lightroom or Photoshop CC can import CR2 files stored on my NAS.

The Mac connects fine to the NAS. I can see the photos and copy them into my new PC, but cannot be imported.

I know that LR does not allow to store CATALOGS on a network, but I've never had problems with the original stored raw files.

    Any advice?

    It solved!

I don't know why it makes a difference, but once I mounted the network folder and gave him an alias on the office, LR5.4 has been able to import.

  • Impossible to import predefined files, I already used for Lightroom 5

Cannot import predefined files, I've already used Lightroom 5.  I use the trial version of 5 LR, the cause of the problem?

    i_m_eric:

OK, you can try to import them into the bad module. Gifts (depending on where you have to) must be installed in a particular module. When you try to drag and drop a "Preset" on LR icon in your dock, it should automatically install in the right place.

I would like to know if it works!

  • Lightroom - can I import RAW files, re - order, then change the numbering of the original RAW file?

Lightroom - can I import RAW files, re - order, then change the numbering of the original RAW file?

I used two different cameras and several memory cards to shoot a recent wedding. Unfortunately, time of the camera were a different time, so the time of capture does not correctly order them. Obviously neither does the name of the file...

    Thank you

    Natalie

Yes, after you use Lightroom to correct the capture time in the files themselves, in the library the library module > rename Photo allows you to rebuild all the filenames selected from scratch. Just customize the preset file name. Use the chips here, you can set up a change of name that begins with a numbering sequence (so that they appear in the order you want) and including the Date, hour, Minute, second in addition to other chips or custom text to add to each file name.

  • Lightroom Import issues with update

I'm trying to import into LR.  He began the process but never finished.  Import gets about a quarter of the way through then never complete.  It has been sitting in the same place for several hours.  I tried 4 times.  A few times I had to "Force quit" Lightroom.

I did the last update CC and done all the usual troubleshooting.  Computer restarted etc...

I use a Mac more old which is not compatible with the update of the Sierra.  I'm afraid that's the question that nothing has changed since my last import.

Starting from which you import the files? Camera? Card? Disc? HARD DRIVE?

Are you able to try another method? Card reader cable

Are you able to transfer the images to your hard drive via drag and drop in the Finder?

If so, what happens when you try to import from there?

  • Hi, I just upgraded from 6.1 to 6.4 LR LR. When importing new files LR6.4 cannot rename my files with a specific date format (import uses only the original name).

    Hello

No problem with the LR 6.1, but now (LR6.4), it seems impossible to rename my files with a specific format (yyyy-dd-hhmmss and a suffix) importing memory cards. LR imports only files with names of origin. And I have a lot of files to rename...

I hope that someone knows what's going on.

    Jean

    Jean,

We found a similar question which is being implemented. If you shoot images at once in the first and jpg format and then import them using the option of renaming, the question is in place.

Could you please check if you use the option "make a second copy? If so, please it deselect. It should solve the problem.

The issue is addressed in Lightroom.

    Thank you
