Please, change the Destination to a valid location

Instead use ADD to import

User is writing Windows file protection, so you can't move anything in it.

  • After the migration, Lightroom will not import photos

I just upgraded a MacBook Air to Macbook Pro and migrated my catalog on the Macbook Pro. When I open LR (I have creative cloud) I can access and edit my photos, but it is impossible to import new photos in the catalog. I reinstalled LR 5.7 and tried again. I try to import RAW files (CR2 and ARW, nor will be important), and I get a message saying: he can't read the files.

    Any ideas what to do?

    Hello

You really need a little more information such as operating system, memory, etc.

Usually a mistake like this happens because a background process is running and interfere with the available RAM, not enough virtual memory (Windows), drivers of HW obsolete or just an incomplete installation.

Or, one of the biggest problems is add-ons in internet browsers.

Alternatively, another problem of Lightroom, no sufficient permissions on the directory where you import image files.

Please provide a little more information.

  • Lightroom will not import pictures more

I used the same SIM card and shaped for a while and all of a sudden it will not import files... How can I solve this problem?

This means that you don't have the appropriate permissions to the directory that attempts to copy your photos in Lightroom.

To resolve this issue, you must determine the directory where Lightroom is trying to copy the photos to (in the import dialog on the right, this is the section named 'Destination'). Once you know which directory it is, you must change the permissions on this exact directory & read/write. If you do not know how to change the permissions, go to your favorite search engine and type change permissions Mac

  • Computer will not import photos

Computer will not import pictures either from camera or SD reader - there are 1,000 images this size would be too heavy for my laptop? I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 2 GB. I click on Photo Gallery - click on file - click the Pictures dialog box - then import appears - no new images on the device.  Any ideas?

    Hi silverfox16,

    1. were you able to import photos before without any problem?

This error message occurs when you try to transfer the same pictures again.

You can try to cut and paste the images using Windows Explorer and check.

Alternatively, you can try to delete or rename the database file that checks the duplicates.

Navigate to the location next and Pictures.pd4 and rename it to Pictures.pd4.old or remove the file and check.

    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Photo Gallery\Pictures.pd4 (or sometimes.pd5) and rename

  • Lightroom will not import my photos

I can't Lightroom to import my photos. I get the error message: "the following files were not imported because they could not be read. (997)

    My card is not corrupt.

I already checked my permissions, and they are set to read and write.

I tried to import directly from the camera and through my card readers - nada.

It just started this week. Who went once and when I tried again once, it worked. Now it won't work at all. Incredibly frustrating! I see others are having this problem with no answer... Help, please!

I'm on a Mac working on Lightroom CC.

In the import dialog box, make sure you have the Destination panel open. (This problem seems to be new in 6.1)

  • 5 Lightroom will not import or export photos.  Solution you need?

In fact, the error message means you are trying to overwrite the original images that are in Lightroom. Lightroom will refuse to do as you known here as it would leave the images in Lightroom in an inconsistent state. You simply select a location different export where are your original images.

Note that this is inherent in the works of Lightroom. It is not a traditional image editor and you should not treat this way and try to crush your originals that you can do with Photoshop. When you want a file that reflects your changes, you export to a new location and use, and throw away when you are finished with them. You keep the originals intact and Lightroom will store the sequence of editing for you, then you can always return on your changes or new copies in any format or size you want to export.

  • LR6.6 will not import photos

I read a lot of threads on this topic but none seem to help.  I have LR 6.6 on a Win10 machine (12 GB memory, to lease 200 GB free disk space) and it will not photos import.  The current catalog has about 35 000 images.

LR load fine, but as soon as I click on file > import goes into insensitive mode.  If I wait 5 to 10 minutes it will come back someday, but if I click to open the source file folder he disappears again for another 5 to 10 minutes and will do so with every simple access to a source folder attempt.  I tried everything I have seen on various forums, including the removal and relocation, removal of preference, catalogue, disabling GPU optimization files. create a catalog of fees and import my old catalogs in there.  Nothing helps.  As it is, LR is completely unusable.  What can I do?

    Hi DEklof,

I suggest you to update to the latest version 6.6.1 Lightroom times and check.

  • 6 Lightroom will not import Olympus RAW

Hi, I have 6 Lightroom (NOT CC) for Mac OS x which I expect to be able to import files Olympus MDG E - M10 Mk 2 RAW (.) (ORF). However, she does not need to be imported. Will there be an update to Lightroom 6 to enable this soon? Thank you I can use Adobe's Raw Converter to get around it for now, but it adds a new step for the import process that I prefer to do without. Any info or advice much appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    Mark

As mentioned above, Lightroom does not use the ACR PlugIn but it integrated into the application so s Lightroom download is necessary.

There is a link to the d/load here after the new table of camera.

  • Lightroom will not import the cr2 files

I'm trying to import CR2 files in Lightroom and it is said that "certain import operations were conducted not.» The following files were not imported because they could not be read", then it will display the file name. I saw on the forum where it is perhaps a mistake to write, but I don't know where to go to change these settings. I use an iMac on the latest OSX and the most up-to-date CC. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not an expert with the product.

You go to your operating system (Mac Finder) and change the permissions on the folder to READ & WRITE permission. Which folder? The folder specified in the import in Lightroom under Destination dialog box.

  • Lightroom does not import photos from camera or office. I can see them in the section overview of Lightroom, but when I click on import, said simply that they cannot be read.  Help!

Lightroom does not allow me to import pictures from my camera or my office. They appear in the preview of little Lightroom and I select the ones I want to import, and then add my info etc and manipulation of files metadata, but then when I hit just IMPORT keeps saying that they cannot be read.  SO FRUSTRATING.

To change the permissions on a folder, click the padlock icon in the corner of the info box. You will be asked your admin username and password (can be the same as yours if you are the only user on the computer). Then, you will be able to change permissions.

But I agree that user is not the real destination folder. To be sure, right-click on the destination in Lightroom and then choose 'Show in Finder' get info on this issue.

  • 5 Lightroom will not import all the pictures on the card

    Hello

I use Lightroom 5 successfully for six months (Mac OS X 10.7.5 - my camera is a Canon Mark III - and I shoot in raw), and never had a problem with importing the photos. Suddenly, when I clicked import, and then click my card, vignettes on the map came yesterday, but most have been grayed out, and the program wanted to import photos select a few. I made the updated for 5 of Lightroom, but still can't get the photos to import. The same thing happens again today with a second card, and I can't uncheck / check all photos or find another way to get photos of gray to become not gray or import. I hope someone can help me quickly, because I'm running out of cards.

    Thank you.

    Thanks Catherine.

These questions are normally due to a kind of hardware malfunction.

The cards themselves may be a problem (less likely because you have used multiple cards).

The card reader could be a problem.

The USB cable connecting the card reader to the computer may also be defective (you could try another cable and see what happens).

Sometimes the USB port and the controller are may be damaged.

Something to try passing through all of the options is to copy images from the card on your system, and then try to import them into Lightroom from the hard drive and see if the problem persists.

This process is something a little test by mistake.

  • Cc 2015.4 Lightroom will not import video from canon 5 d mkii!

I was able to import videos directly from my canon 5 d mkii in lightroom on my macbook pro 2015. IPhotos, bridge, and Lightroom show an error when I try to import videos from 5 d. Import photos perfectly fine, but no video. I tried to import the videos same in Lightroom to my pc and they import fine. I need to import it back in my mac! Help, please.

    Hello Stephen,

It seems a problem with the destination folder, then I would suggest to check if you have read and write access to the destination folder where you try to import images.

Also try to change the location of the destination folder, and then import the videos in Lightroom.

Let me know if it helps.

    Kind regards
