5 Lightroom will not import all the pictures on the card

Hello

I use Lightroom 5 successfully for six months (Mac OS X 10.7.5 - my camera is a Canon Mark III - and I shoot in raw), and never had a problem with importing the photos. Suddenly, when I clicked import, and then click my card, vignettes on the map came yesterday, but most have been grayed out, and the program wanted to import photos select a few. I made the updated for 5 of Lightroom, but still can't get the photos to import. The same thing happens again today with a second card, and I can't uncheck / check all photos or find another way to get photos of gray to become not gray or import. I hope someone can help me quickly, because I'm running out of cards.

Thank you.

Thanks Catherine.

These questions are normally due to a kind of hardware malfunction.

The cards themselves may be a problem (less likely because you have used multiple cards).

The card reader could be a problem.

The USB cable connecting the card reader to the computer may also be defective (you could try another cable and see what happens).

Sometimes the USB port and the controller are may be damaged.

Something to try passing through all of the options is to copy images from the card on your system, and then try to import them into Lightroom from the hard drive and see if the problem persists.

This process is something a little test by mistake.

  • Why my LR 5.5 will not import all the images in my cards cf or external hard drive

Hello.  My Lightroom was working fine until yesterday, no problem to import anything and now nothing.  I tried to import my raw images from my cf card and I get "following images could not be imported because they could not be read" (97).  I can import directly into my outside and they are there so I know this isn't a card problem. Actually I jumped in a card that charged just fine the week last with the same images it has previously downloaded and still nothing.

I tried also to import the files in my external and a folder on the desktop.  Nothing. When I do this I get "could not copy a file at the location requested.  (883).

It's so frustrating, I have several shoots this week and need to have my back running lightroom as it was.  Any help is greatly appreciated!

OK - success!  What I did on the top bar I clicked on the icon for drive hard mac and he told me where the old store was and I clicked on one that I could recognize.

    Thank you very much!

  • I added a 128 gB microSD card to provide the space for my photos, (a second hard drive) but lightroom won't let me not import all the pictures that are already on the map. The only import option is 'copy', not 'Add '.

I had a problem with Lightroom on Microsoft Surface 3.  I added a 128 gB microSD card to provide the space for my photos, (a second hard drive) but lightroom won't let me not import all the pictures that are already on the map.  The only import option is 'copy', not 'Add '.  I worked around this by mounting a network directory containing photos and imported from there.  Is it possible to stop Lightroom to see such a map as a camera?

I have not tested, but it should work with Lightroom:

Not sure what happens if you remove the card and put in a similar SD card. I would like to test it so that you know what to expect.

    Hello

You really need a little more information such as operating system, memory, etc.

Usually a mistake like this happens because a background process is running and interfere with the available RAM, not enough virtual memory (Windows), drivers of HW obsolete or just an incomplete installation.

Or, one of the biggest problems is add-ons in internet browsers.

Alternatively, another problem of Lightroom, no sufficient permissions on the directory where you import image files.

Please provide a little more information.

  • Lightroom will not import pictures more

I used the same SIM card and shaped for a while and all of a sudden it will not import files... How can I solve this problem?

This means that you don't have the appropriate permissions to the directory that attempts to copy your photos in Lightroom.

To resolve this issue, you must determine the directory where Lightroom is trying to copy the photos to (in the import dialog on the right, this is the section named 'Destination'). Once you know which directory it is, you must change the permissions on this exact directory & read/write. If you do not know how to change the permissions, go to your favorite search engine and type change permissions Mac

You will need to fix the external HDD read/write permissions

I suggest you change the permissions for all users. See the many articles for the same on Google

All my favorites Internet Explore will not transfer on Firefox. I already tried all of the suggestions:

    • import from internet explore
    • Export Favorites to internet explore then import into firefox

Only half of my favorites are passed to firefox. Very frustrating.

If there are problems with importing IE bookmarks in Firefox, then export favorites in Internet Explorer to a HTML file and import this file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.

  • Lightroom will not import the cr2 files

I'm trying to import CR2 files in Lightroom and it is said that "certain import operations were conducted not.» The following files were not imported because they could not be read", then it will display the file name. I saw on the forum where it is perhaps a mistake to write, but I don't know where to go to change these settings. I use an iMac on the latest OSX and the most up-to-date CC. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not an expert with the product.

You go to your operating system (Mac Finder) and change the permissions on the folder to READ & WRITE permission. Which folder? The folder specified in the import in Lightroom under Destination dialog box.

I just upgraded a MacBook Air to Macbook Pro and migrated my catalog on the Macbook Pro. When I open LR (I have creative cloud) I can access and edit my photos, but it is impossible to import new photos in the catalog. I reinstalled LR 5.7 and tried again. • 6 Lightroom will not import .orf

All of a sudden I can't import files into lightroom 6.

I moved my computer to a new catalog. All my pictures and retouching are visible, but I can not add new ones.

An error message says that cannot read the files on my SD card. Of course, they are perfectly readable by other applications.

Im running on OS X Yosemite.

    Any ideas?

When he says that the files cannot be read that this means that they cannot be written.  Adobe needs to change this wording in the error message when this happens all the time on the forum.  Check your permissions on the folder/drive target to ensure that you have write privileges.

  • iPhoto will not see all the pic. on the iPhone.

After installing a new hard drive in the iMac, due to the failure of the original installed, I struggle with having on the iMac iPhoto to see pictures on my iPhone that are older than October 2014. Photos are visible on the iPhone, but iPhoto will not see them which allowed me to transfer and secure them on the iMac. The iPhone is connected to the iMac with a cable to the USB port. Thanks for supporting.

iPhoto can only see the photos that are in the film.  The older photos have been synchronized to your iPhone using iTunes? Then you can download them in iPhoto. Sync photos from your computer to your device via iTunes - Apple Support iOS

    • You cannot re-import photos synced from your computer to your device to your computer. You can only import photos from your device, or record, in your device to your computer. If you need recover photos synced from your device, send photos of the unit yourself. Then download the photos from the emails on your computer.

If the pictures are on the Filmstrip, but iPhoto does not always show them, try to upload them to launchinh Capture of Image. It is downloadable from your iPhone to a folder,

Another reason for only a few photos in iPhoto could be iCloud photo library.  If iCloud photo library has been activated on your iPhone, you can only import those photos that have been uploaded to the iPhone, but not the photos in iCloud. If iCloud library is active, download from iCloud.
