• Disabled Firewall - now starts like new computer

  Based on a recommendation of the Apple Genius Bar, I disabled my firewall.  It took about 20 minutes and then says to restart when he did.  When I rebooted, it starts as a new computer asks me to select a language and then restore from time machine, reinstall the OS, etc.  When I use disk utility, it shows the data on the disk, but it shows it all as "Other" instead of Photos, Audio, applications, etc.

• Outlook express download old emails read like new unread emails whenever it is open

  I turned on my PC and re-opened Outlook express after a 2 week break. Under send/receive I get ALL my emails stored as new unread emails as well as new unread then emails that I was absent. It is about 3000 emails everytime I open Outlook express. How can I limit the send/receive to receive only the emails sent to me from OE last opened?

  What Steve said, but I'll elaborate on that a bit.

  Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced. Uncheck: Leave a copy of messages on the server. Then, remove the Pop3uidl.dbx file. You will get the messages once more, but it should be.

  Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

  In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

  With OE closed, find the Pop3uidl.dbx file and delete it.  Another will be created automatically when you open OE.

  General precautions for Outlook Express:

  Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

• The old messages blackBerry Smartphones keep popping up like new with OWA Exchange.

  My account is a Microsoft Exchange account that I connect using Outlook or Outlook Web Access (OWA).  Sometimes (and I can't find a reason for it) when I reread an email using Outlook/OWA message get redistributed to the BlackBerry as if it were a new message.  Otherwise reconciliation seems to work perfectly (both delete and keep track of read vs unread messages.)  I find it very confusing.

  I tried to find some adjustments in currency options which would explain this and have not been able to.

  Any suggestions?

  I had a few open tabs and whenever I open Firefox, all these tabs open without problems. I'm on windows 10. Since this morning, when I open Firefox, open the tabs but they are all empty (new tab).   Before the Mavericks, if I open a VM (full screen) on my MacBook with a monitor external, it would open on the external monitor, but it would not drag on and create a new office. I liked it.   I think I solved this by going to settings-> Mission Control and uncheck "screens have separate spaces" (setting don't stick the first time - had to do it twice). Now the behaviour seems similar to the way it was.
