Limit bandwidth consumption on a monthly

Hello

We have a customer with a Cisco CISCO1941/K9. The router has a WAN 2 connection. 1 connection has a monthly bandwidth of 20 GB/month limit and a connection high speed. The second connection is unlimited and used as a backup connection in case the main line is inaccessible.

Avoid the main connection to serve more in the cases where he used 20 GB and 20 GB/monthly make the router switch to the second connection until the new billing period begins.

Is it possible to do on a CISCO1941/K9 Cisco without premium costs / extra/software Cisco?

Thanks in advance for any response.

Sven

There is a political use of EEM on the link below.  It was built to monitor the use of more than 4 G interfaces but there is no reason why it would not work for your use cases as well.   Current policy alerts via syslog on BW messages and additional logic must be added to the failure of delivery on your main to backup interface.

    Help, please!

    Hello!

I wouldn't be that concerned by the individual links and tips. They will be automatically created for you when you make the subzones. You can get what you want in your simple deployment with just the configuration of the subzone. The unlimited bandwidth in a subarea and limit calls out of it to all the other subfields or areas.

    1: create 4 sub-zones on your VCS.

VCS configuration > Local area > subzones.

2: for each sub-area, create a membership rule.

I guess that the TYPE can be subnet. So as a membership rule, add the subnet for the site corresponding to this subarea.

VCS configuration > Local area > subzone of the membership rules.

    Subnet address and prefix length

These two fields determine the range set

of IP addresses that belong to this subarea.

(Applies only if the Type is subnet.)

Address field shows the range of

Addresses IP to assign to this subarea

based on the combination of the subnet

    address and prefix length.

If you have a network at the site THAT has a network 10.1.1.0 as a C-net IP address, membership rule should be:

    Subnet address: 10.1.1.0

    Prefix length 24

If you have a network to the TWO site that has an address of IP 10.1.2.0 as a C-net network, membership rule should be:

    Subnet address: 10.1.2.0

    Prefix length 24

    and so on...

3: set up the limits of subzones for your four subzones

As you can see, there is no need to set up the individual links and pipes, unless you want to do more advanced boundaries between your locations.

  • Limit bandwidth for VPN users

    Hi guys,.

I use ASA Version 8.2 (1), I want to limit vpn users to use less bandwidth of my Interlink to access something on the inside of the network

    example: source vpn pool

    Destn: inside the network

Please let me know how to achieve this with QOS config.

    Hello

Probably the best would be to match groups of tunnel.

    class-map TG1-best-effort
    match tunnel-group Tunnel-Group-1
    match flow ip destination-address

Then this traffic in police policy-map and apply the service policy to the external interface (since you want to traffic police from your home). You can also use the pool for vpn access lists.

In addition, the FF settings will be override settings on sites like youtube? For example, if my children were to click on a higher resolution or HD video settings for their videos on youtube, what would happen?

Changing the resolution has no effect on the performance of Firefox, and can even be worse if you operate an LDC monitor not in its native resolution.

  • Limit the bandwidth in the tunnel VPN on Cisco ASA

    Hello

I have a site VPN tunnel to create with the local desktop client. I fear that the traffic in the tunnel in impacting the Internet bandwidth for the entire office. Is it possible to limit bandwidth on the speed VPN tunnel. I have attached a configuration that shows the configuration of the ASA at the local office.

Any help would be much appreciate. I watched QoS mapping but it's hard to make sense.

    Thank you very much

    Kind regards

    Michael.

The ASA supported QoS features are:
    Police, LLQ and Traffic Shaping

To avoid the individual flows hogging the bandwidth of the network, you can limit the maximum bandwidth used by flow (with the police)
The police is a way of ensuring that no traffic exceeds the rate (in bits per second) that you configure,
so make that person not traffic or the class can return to any of the resource.
When traffic is higher than the maximum rate, the ASA removes the excess traffic. Policy defines also the largest single burst of allowed traffic.

    Example of font options:
    class policing_map_name hostname(config-pmap) #.
    Police hostname(config-pmap-c) # {exit | entry} to compliance rates [conform burst]
[action in line [drop | send]] [action exceed [drop | send]]

    That is to say

    HostName (config) # class - police-class card
    HostName(config-CMAP) # match any
    HostName(config-CMAP) # QoS_policy policy-map
    class police_class hostname(config-pmap) #.
    HostName(config-pmap-c) # exit police 56000 10500

The configuration depends on the "this" base that you want to limit the connection.

  • Windows file sharing - a lot of bandwidth is consumed on ports 137, 138, 445 domain windows server 2008

    Hello

I have observed this for a few months now on my windows Server 2008 domain (all my clients are windows 7) and it drives me crazy.  My wireless nodes #1 bandwidth consumption is taken by 'Windows file shaing' on ports 137, 138, and 445.  I tried to pull the bandwidth on these ports on all of my users wireless using the wireless controller, then the claim of the user than even a small file as 100 MB ' would take hours to download.  If windows 7 OS is too talkative, I prefer to go back to windows XP?

What is the solution of my problem, I need to have my users to upload files and at the same time be fair with my bandwidth that does all my work of nodes and servers without really hard wire.  Help please.

  • Bandwidth configuration Expressway

    Hello

Can someone let me know to change the bandwidth on Hwy C and E server configuration.

This will affect the quality of B2B video calling and Conference I endpoints MX800, DX 80, EX80 and C60.

I also have the TMS, is it also requires change bandwidth on MSDS.

The conductor, I configured HD for the teleconference scheduled.

Bandwidth restrictions: the speed of maximum Session for video calls on the default region on Cisco Unified Communications Manager is 384 kbit/s by default. The bandwidth by default call on Highway-C is also 384 kbit/s by default. These settings may be too low to provide the quality expected video for the DX series.

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/TD/docs/voice_ip_comm/Expressway/Admin _...

    Kind regards

    RACLOT

    Hi r.,.

Cucm point of view, it is a function of the parameters of the region. As explained with examples in the SRND

When a video call is established between two video end points, audio and video streams are established and the bandwidth is deducted for the negotiated rate. Unified CM uses regions to determine the maximum bit rate for the call. For example, with a Cisco TelePresence EX90 system to higher detail of 1080 p at 30 frames per second (fps), the rate negotiated between regions would have set at 6.5 Mbps. EX90s used in this scenario would be on average about 6.1 MB/s for the session. When endpoints start the presentation during the sharing session, BFCP is negotiated between the two ends and a video stream is activated at 5 fps or 30 fps, depending on the endpoint configuration. In this case, endpoints are butterfly to the bottom of their main video stream to include the video presentation so that the entire session use more than the allocated 6.5 Mbps throughput. Thus, the average bandwidth consumption remains the same with or without presentation sharing.

Immersive Telepresence and desktop settings such as the Cisco TelePresence system 500, 1000, 3000, and TX9000 Series, who are negotiating a call between them work a little differently in the sense that the video of presentation of sharing is additional bandwidth beyond what is allocated for the main video session, and so it is not deducted from the Enhanced location CAC.

    More details are given here

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/voice_ip_comm/CUCM/srnd/collab09/CL...

In addition, as stated in the previous post "bandwidth restrictions put in place by the call control infrastructure will be replace this parameter.", it means that for the endpoints registered with cucm cucm parameter will prevail.
