  So now I want to use more RAM and want to have more tools like backup tool, clone.

  I've been reading in vmware site but it makes me a bit of confusion.

  Can someone clarify this for me:

  Yes I looked on the page and there seems to be a lot of xyz, but no definitive list of what is in the kit of essestials or even the pro kit.

  Ideally, this as the backup software, but would be nice to know all inclusive.

  You are running the latest version of ESXi 5.5?  If you run Update 2, you will be able to upgrade to version 10 (power off the virtual machine, right-click and the possibility to upgrade virtual hardware will be there.)

  I'm considering the purchase of vCenter Standard.  I now have 4 hosts and will be seized from 6-7 long and centralized management would help a lot.  The hosts are 5.5 Essentials ESXi, and my understanding is that I would need Essentials upgrade to the standard.  What is the process here?  Is it simply a matter of installing the license of vSphere Standard on the hosts?  Or I need to install new software?

  No need to reinstall. Just replace the license keys for vCenter Server and hosts.
