    Hi all

completed the free upgrade to WIndows 7 Home to 10 Windows. This is done via Ethernet NIC - all filled with success - activated license. After I clean install and once again everything seems fine - except when I tried to use the WiFi. There is a red cross on it and it cannot detect all networks. Setting-does not react. Only thing it does is switch or disable airplane mode by pressing the button hardware or software.

Of course the driver problem. In the Device Manager WiFi shows as Aetheros AR9285 and there is no warning - operation normally. I tried to consult no HP site for the product but in fact there are just the Windows 7 driver that can not be installed as Windows 10 says this isn't for this version of the operating system.

So I tried to download directly from Aetheros https://www.atheros-drivers.com/atheros-wireless-drivers.html. Downloaded AR9285 for Windows 10 (no exe just inf files etc.) and installed it via "update driver". Not completed successfully, restart done but always the same - no WiFi - impossible to enable it in Windows.

Anyone have this laptop and know which driver to use?

so, finally I managed to find a solution on some Linux forum:

    -Remove the battery

    -Go into the BIOS

-F9 to reset to the default values

    -F10 to save and exit

    WiFi works again.

  • 10 Windows WiFi problems

    Hello

I have a Windows 10 partition on my MacBook Pro (Early 2015) retina. I use Windows on a regular basis, and recently, I have a lot of problems with my WiFi. Today, I completely lost my private WiFi connection and I can't solve this problem. I restarted my router several times and nothing has changed. I installed the Windows updates before - maybe that's the reason? Is it possible to reinstall the Boot Camp software? I currently have version 6.0. I can only find the versions 5.x on Apple's site. Or how can I fix this? In my device manager, the card network Broadcom 802.11ac is listed and even my router said: that the MBP is connected to WiFi. The network card is also says that I'm connected to the network, but access is limited (no internet access). WiFi works fine on my other devices like my iPhone 6 s. If you need anything else to know, feel free to ask.

    Thank you in advance.

  • 10 limited Windows Wifi

I just bought a new Inspiron 11 3000 series Dell 2 in 1 and I can't connect to wifi. It connects but says that I have limited wifi. It is not my router because all of our devices are connecting to the Internet properly.

Windows 10 has problems with wifi and what should I do to get connectivity full.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I do not exclude on the router since you can simply be updated to the latest firmware to allow him to manage Windows 10 most recent and chipset drivers.   What brand / model of router, connect you to?  What is the last time you updated the firmware on this router?   (Other systems also run Win10, and if so, what wireless cards are in the system?)

Oh, and have you tried this system on a different network, like a cup of coffee?  Problems connecting here?

Another thing, you might want to check is updated the driver from our main Dell support site.  (enter your service tag and the pages will redirect you to the support pages for your system. Click on drivers & downloads and set the OS of Windows 10.  Check the Networking section)

What wireless card you have in your system?  In my view, there are options for different cards on the Inspiron 11 currently, so I want to make sure I mention the correct card.

Looking at the page of downloads for your model, there are several pilots new available wireless network card, which most came out in the last week or two.  With the recent release of Windows 10 your system could have now the latest driver on the image it's so update it can help.  New drivers for Win10 will come out as new problems are discovered and resolved, so I hope that among the new pilots will help you as well.

Let me know if allows you to update your driver, or when the last time that you updated the firmware on your system.

After an upgrade to Windows 10, WiFi seems to have been turned off, and when I try to activate it with Fn + F8, it says I need to activate the WiFi switch but there is no physical switch WiFi on this laptop model. And no luck trying to activate it right click on the adapter, via Windows GUI or the WiFi icon on the keyboard.

Tried to install the latest drivers for Realtek WiFi adapter Toshiba and the Toshiba system driver but no luck either.

I think that this issue may not be specific to the Win10 upgrade... Opportunity experienced by those who have upgraded to Windows 8, but impossible to find all the topics with a quick search.

Anyone know how I can be able to work around this problem?

  • WiFi problem after upgrade to Windows 10

    Greetings!

I read a few posts on WiFi problems after the (improper) upgrade of Windows 10. I have a ThnkPad T530 which I've upgraded to Windows 10 Windows 7 in September (too late to roll back). Here's my question:

I have three computers on my desk. This standard T530 running Windows 10, a ThnkPad E555 running Windows 7 and a Dell running Windows 8. I used all three last Friday. I installed Norton on all three Friday and everything went without a hitch. When I first started their return to the top of this morning, the two others came online as usual. The ThinkPad T530 connected by a router in the company, but has no access to the internet. I can connect to the hotspot on my phone and it connects fine. I tried to turn the WiFi connection and then turn it on again, restart, by killing and restarting the business connection, etc. Nothing changes.

    Help, please

  • Intermittent WiFi problem after upgrade to Windows 10

My acer aspire V3 - 571 has been intermittently lose WiFi for the last 2 days since Windows 10 Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade.

    The Aspire has:

Driver Atheros wireless network adapt AR5BWB222 10.0.0.38 Wednesday 2/15/12

    So far, I have:

    1. in the properties Atheros AR5BWB222 Wireless Network Adapter, I unchecked the box in the tab property management who read allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

1B. Made sure flight mode was in the off position.

1 c. Forget exactly where I did, but made certain settings in another? location have been set to "Maximum Performance".

    2. check that the firmware is updated on my network router, the value 2 of WPA - PSK (AES) security.

    3. search through many forums to read the responses of people upgrading Windows 10 WiFi issues - seems it is a widespread problem, although no one said that the WiFi signal loss was intermittent, as is my laptop. Shots of the Internet for my research also shows WiFi problems occurred in the past for installation of Windows 8. (So far have not come across mentions of WiFi problems for the latest installations of Windows 7).

    4. in exploring my laptop, I came across a page of Microsoft Updates - SEE ATTACHED. I was surprised to find that these updates go out quite frequently during the day. For example, 10 separate updates between 23:30 and 16:24 on August 1 and 18 separate updates between 12 h 06 at 15:57 on August 2.  Included in the record of updates for August 1 and August 2. I am aware that Microsoft uses my WiFi to download updates AUTOMATICALLY. It is possible that this intermittent intermittent interruptions of the WiFi update download?

    5. this afternoon, when the WiFi did not work for Windows 10. I reinstalled as a dual boot Ubuntu 14.04. I have had no trouble to connect to the WiFi for Ubuntu.

    Not yet:

    1. I haven't tried connecting the laptop via an Ethernet cable to my router during one of these WiFi failure.

    2. my ISP is a VOIP/Internet, using a Westell and a single Cisco router configuration. I have not taken into account if they can be a cause of the problem.

    3. I read on a forum that someone corrected their problem with WiFi connection by changing their setting include TKIP security router

NOTE: I need to put Windows screenshot attachment 10 updates in a response email separate to this post as this post does not accept the attachment.

Would appreciate your comments and suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I'll probably also put this on a Windows 10 forum elsewhere.

    Hello!

FYI, this has worked for me, finally a solution!

The strangest thing - I have uninstalled the driver Atheros. Do NOT reinstall it. After uninstalling the driver Atheros, a right screen Windows 10 panel immediately appeared style - either on advice of Panel or in the page settings of WiFi, was asleep, can't remember which - that contains an entry box marked my wifi password. I entered the password and boom, the wifi worked. He has been since.

Once again thank you. Mark resolved.

  • P500 Lenovo WiFi problem

    Hello

I have laptop Lenovo P500 running under windows 10. Recently, I have wifi problem. The problem is that when the laptop is not connected to the charger wifi does not work. Sometimes, it is connected to the network, but shows a limited access, sometimes wifi is diseabled. Even after I troubleshoot it seems to work for a few minutes. but then, it's the same problem.

Note: there is no problem with wifi when the laptop is connected to load it (works fine). The problem is that when the tower is not connected to the charger. For this reason, I always the laptop is connected to the charger.

I don't know if this is related to your problem, but using the battery will cause the unit to run in a different way compared to the mode high performance when it is plugged. So you can try to change the power plan to high performance in battery mode. Of course, this will cause a more rapid evacuation of your battery.

    Hello @jay05,

Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! The forums are a great place where you can find solutions for your problems, with the help of the community!

I came across your post about the WiFi problem and wanted to help!  I understand that you have found the DNS errors.

First of all, try to review the steps offered by Community Member

    @Great-Christine-Tree:

First of all, we have a step by step guide to guide you through the process of diagnosis here:
Troubleshooting your wireless network and Internet access

A second option is to try the following steps:
    Powercycle the network:
    1. turn off your laptop.
    2. unplug the power to your router.
    3. disconnect the power to your modem.
    4. wait at least 45 seconds.
5 reconnect the modem and wait for it to come back online.
6 plug in the router and wait for it to come back online.
    7. turn on your laptop and test your connection.

Turn off the power to the adapter:
    1. open Device Manager. (Win Key + R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)
    2. expand the network adapters.
    3. right click on the Ethernet adapter / wireless, and then click Properties.
    4. click on the power management tab.
5 remove the check mark next to allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
    6. click on OK.
    7 test cycle.

Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without the quotes and press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

It can also help to reset the winsock catalog:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes, and then press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

    Reinstall the NIC drivers:
    1. download the drivers from here , but do not run them again.
    2. go to your Start menu/screen and type Device Manager.
    3. expand network adapters.
    4. right click on the wireless adapter and choose uninstall.
5 install the drivers downloaded in step 1.
    6. restart your PC and test.

    Test an ethernet connection:
Explicit. Test if the problem persists on a wired connection to the adapter hardware troubleshooting wireless can be directed to the appropriate areas.

    Test another connection:
Many people excluded their home network as a problem if another device working on the same network. Networking is not as simple as that. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to exclude the settings for this device until the laptop has been tested on another network.

If these steps do not resolve the problem, try this document published by Microsoft for network management issues: wired and wireless network problems. You can change the operating system with the drop-down list in the upper right of the document.
