Linear Lightroom workspace

I would like to ask questions about my workflow:

In my current workflow... after importing my raw files in Lr, I do all main tonal and color in Lr adjustmens to take advantages of the 16-bit linear workspace LR... and then I create a TIFF in Ps for other adjustments.

I would ask... If I create a file of ProPhoto TIFF 16-bit in Ps first without adjustment in Lr... and then if I apply main tonal and color adjustments in Lr to this TIFF file... Can I still take advantage of the linear workspace LR?

All editing to achieve a new iteration (TIFF) is undergoing treatment in a linear color space (ProPhoto RGB primaries).

  • How to get rid of the message of the Lightroom Mobile trial

I recently bought a copy of Lightroom 6. At the start, I always see a message about Lightroom Mobile. I have no interest in Lightroom Mobile at its time. Short time and now when I run Lightroom, upper-left, there is a message that says "trial Lightroom Mobile has expired". This beautiful because I need to use it, but I don't want to continue to see the message.

I can get rid of this message by going to Preferences > Lightroom Mobile > delete all data. She came back every time that I reopen it Lightroom. How can I get rid of him permanently and do not have any other interaction with Lightroom Mobile until I choose to do?

Click the identity plate in the upper left corner of the Lightroom workspace. You will see an option to suspend the Mobile with Lightroom. Once you have done this, the message should disappear. In fact, simply click on the line, "Sync with Lightroom Mobile".

  • Get rid of the text "Lightroom mobile trial expiration.

I upgraded to Lightroom 6 when it came out but opted for the no-subscription¹ model.

Now I used this for a while, the mobile text of lightroom at the top left of my screen (on OS X) changed to say "Lightroom mobile trial expiration" and I guess that if I don't do something on that I have to live with it forever. Is it possible to disable this option?

    -----------

    1. I'm undecided about whether without subscription: citizen 'second class', but time will tell

The upper left part of your Lightroom workspace is called the identity plate. If you hover your mouse over this area, you will see a little arrow pointing down. Click on this arrow down and pause or stop mobile synchronization. After you do this, you won't see this message.

  • Color adjustments in Lightroom problems.

I'm new to Lightroom, and I used it for awhile with no problems, until recently.

Normally, I shoot with a Nikon D800 and have had no problems with it, import and play of colors.  Recently, I rented a Fujix100 for a job and used both lightroom to process all of these images, but I feel like it may have changed a setting in lightroom because now when I import my Nikon, where there should be a subtle gradation, I get magenta strips.

Strange thing is, this happens only in the Lightroom workspace.  When I export the image, I don't see the banding, and even on a monitor friends, they do not notice the strapping.

Im getting my Nikon verified that we talk to make sure it's not not my sensor, but my question is, is anyway to reset the color on Lightroom settings just to be enabled by default?

And this information is then attached to my different catalogs, or just the application?

    Thank you.

    -J.

Edit-I should also add that I had to replace the monitor on my computer as a cause of yellowing, so I know that my monitor is new (unless they were replaced by a defective screen, but then I'd see gangs everywhere.)

I think that the problem is with the new screen, not with cameras.  Shooting with another brand or model should not have an impact on another model.  If you mean reset default settings for cameras, yes you can do it.  But using the Fuji should not have affected the Nikon at all.  You either have to calibrate this new monitor, or Exchange it for another one if you have this option.

  • Question Worksapce Touch on Surface Pro 3

When my Surface Pro 3 is not docked without a keyboard and I turn to Touch workspace by clicking on the icon of the workspace Touch in the lower left, it goes however I can not switch back to the workspace without a touchscreen, nor do I close Lightroom.  My only option was to hit the Windows key on the surface material to switch on the start screen and reboot my device.  While in the dock with external display, keyboard, and mouse; I can switch to the workspace Touch then switch out of it by pressing ESC.  If I am connected to undocked while in the Lightroom Workspace touch it crashes and I have two of the background bars\menus, one inside and the other on a quarter of the way up from the bottom.  Return to the docking station while in this State puts everything in order and working again.  8.1 Windows is fully updated to this day with all the updates that are available through Windows Update.

There is an 'X' button in the lower left of the touch interface.  It is next to the 'flag' and 'star' buttons.  You who push and it takes back you to the no touch interface.

  • When switching from Lightroom to Photoshop it default to the workspace 'Start' instead of 'My own work space' which she did before PS updated 2 December 2015

I guess the title says it all.

    But to summarize.

I right click on a photo in Lightroom and Edit in PS.

Before this PS Update December 2, 2015 she would incorporate the photo in the PS as my default work workspace

Now it is default to 'Start' workspace not what I envisioned.

When you choose to photograph in the new (open) start any screen works OK

Figured out how Adobe should have done...

Go in Photoshop C:\Users\user-name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe CC 2015\Adobe CC Photoshop 2015 Settings\WorkSpaces (modified) and copy your main workspace by default

e.g. copy My_Workspace.psw and paste it

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2015\Required\Workspaces CC. In this directory, remove Start.psw and rename My_Worksapce.psw to Start.psw

Remove Start.psw in the workspaces (modified) [see above] directory as well. PS will create a new one here.

Make sure that the two new features are selected in the General preferences in PS.

Now in Lightroom will change to PS, it starts in My_workspace as it used to.  When I opened just PS it now starts in the workspace of beginning.

  • Color management in Lightroom 3 print Module

I was never quite happy with the Lightroom print module, but have recently noticed quite marked when printing color inconsistencies.  I use a HP B9180 printer and always use application controls the color (and learned how to set the printer driver to the top outside of Lightroom in the Windows 7 Control Panel to avoid what it back to one of the HPs built in printer setup options).  I also print using QImage Pro that I have set up as an external editor, test images sent to the QImage always print as expected, but the same images printed on Lightrooms 3 have a Magenta cast.  I always assumed that lightroom kept the image in his workspace of ProPhotoRGB internal in the print module and profile specific printer/paper ICC to convert directly from ProPhotoRGB "instructions to specific printer/paper" (QImage is certainly sending the file image in aRGB or ProPhotoRGB gives exactly the same result).  However I was looking at the model of printer and among her file found the following

    printingFileProfile = "sRGB",.

    printingFileResolution = 300,

    printingProfile = "C:\\Windows\\system32\\spool\\drivers\\color\\HP PSPro B9100 - Advanced Photo Glossy.icc"

    printingresolution = 300,

    renderingIntent = "Perception."

Can I infer from this snippit that when the print module is enabled, a copy of the image is rendered within sRGB, reduced to 300 dpi color and this is the file that is used when printing (important to know even if you select managed by printer color management personnel as the B9180 pilot gives you a choice of aRGB and sRGB as managed by application on the color management tab)?

Does anyone know what precicely goes here?

What is the root cause of incompatible colors?

I'm under that Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on a PC with a Core 2 Quad Q6700, 8 GB of DDR2 RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS graphics card.

I have the latest drivers for the B9180.

No, the keyword "printingFileProfile" profile which is selected when you switch your output to a jpeg file. The keyword "printingProfile" is the profile that is used to translate the data to your printer. If you select a profile in the context menu, what Lightroom is converted from inner space linear prophoto for the profile of the printer and that sends the printer driver. No staging sRGB is made. If you get an unexpected color, what usually happened is color management double because the pilot has a different profile. He should leave the quiet data, but it is obviously not. The magenta colors are a very typical signature of double. My guess is that the setting "handled by the application" is to have ignored or is stunning when printing. Make sure you check that the definition of when you hit actually impression about me that he often returned to sRGB in Lightroom without discernible reason. He shouldn't do that, but there are a few strange printer driver interaction bugs in Lightroom.

  • Solve linear equations - Block tridiagonal matrix

    Hello

I developed a vi that can be used to solve tridiagonal systems by block of equations by Thomas algorithm. These systems are usually in the finite differences method used to solve equations in partial derivatives.

For iterations of 1000 times, its time is ~ 500ms. Now, I want to finish the work within 100ms. is possible to improve the performance?

    Thanks, Jong Hyun

For details of the Thomas algorithm, please see wikipedia Web page, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_algorithm. Note that it describes how to solve tridiagonal linear equations, but same logic can be applied to block tridiagonal equations.

    * If you use the vi sparse SLE of analysis multi-hearts and Sparse Matrix Toolkit, the elapsed time is 450 ms ~

LabVIEW basic/full/pro all use Intel MKL library for linear algebra on MS Windows and Linux.  Intel MKL designed to be very fast for large matrices and breaking a problem given out to take advantage of the different levels of cache. Linear algebra calls go through several levels of functions, including size controls, if any, and may allocate memory for the workspace each call, before finally calculate the result.  This overload problem is evident when the matrix is so small (3 x 3).

I coded matrix-matrix, versions multiply, matrix-vector multiply, and matrix opposite in the case of 3 x 3 explicitly in soil using the structure in place and full indexation (no loops, all scalar operations).  This eliminates the overhead of controls and allows better and placeness.  This brings your reference point down for ~ 70ms on my machine.  Unfortunately this requires significant code changes if you change the block size, but it provides good performance.

"I think that, if I can save each submatrix conversely in the first round and use several times, then speed will be better."

I agree.  You should be able to calculate the most sweeping toward the front of the algorithm and simply replace the submatrices changed and still solve before.  This may mean re - organize the variables to have the submatrices updated or modified down to the right of the input matrix.

  • Lightroom 6: display random flashes and Pixelation

I've recently set up a new computer, with Windows 7pro, graphics Nvidia Quadro 1200 HP z240 & Samsung CF390 series 24 inch monitor curved, for Lightroom, updated the OS, drivers and related programs content before installing Lightroom.  I especially liked that the computer had no bloatware, so conflict of program should not be a problem.  Only when using with Lightroom high and active (partial or complete window display) will I get erase display random, momentary.  When the display is in place and only with LR running also make pixelation on the whole of the workspace of LR (see image).  I tried to reinstall LR and setting the parameters on the display, the video card and the computer, but nothing seems to work.  I welcome suggestions of what could be the source of this problem, because I was really looking forward to back up a computer 13 "laptop for use of LR.

    untitled-100-2.jpg

I had posted this suspect, it can be linked to the comparability of the Quadro 1200 and Lightroom.  Turns out that the problem is the cable between the computer and the monitor.  The graphics card has output mini DisplayPort (DP), while the monitor requires HDMI.  If it was the use of a mini DP to HDMI with HDMI cable or the quality of a, once I changed to a mini DP - HDMI cable, see all the problems reported have been resolved.  Thanks for your help.

  • Where do my Lightroom CC / GB iOS files?

I am trying to enter a workflow where I can edit photos on my iphone in the Lightroom app and then access it on my two computers easily in the form of physical files (preferably in creative cloud folder, where my active files are saved). I never made the transition from Photoshop in Lightroom, so I do not enjoy using Lightroom on my computer, just my iphone:

CC allows to synchronize the files through Lightroom, but I always have to find a workaround then download the file on my computer. I don't know even where these LR files are saved. It seems that they go into a hidden "Lightroom" on the Adobe CC Server folder. This file eating in my space 100 GB CC? I do not know... Is there a maximum capacity of Lightroom CC? I do not know...

Where can I find a complete guide (pref by Adobe) to examine how CC all files synchronization? I guess that there is a manual somewhere that I haven't read. I'm just trying to manage all of my files in one place. Love CC, but LR seems as it is designed to be entirely self-sufficient.

    Thank you!

Do not count files Lightroom Mobile to your workspace files CC.

There is an option in Lightroom > preferences > Lightroom Mobile where you can specify the location of your Lightroom Mobile images that are synchronized to the desktop. This is new to the latest version (beginning 2016) of (2015.5) LR and LR Mobile 2.2.1.

  • 6.5 mac Lightroom cannot see some videos to import

    Hello

I have a problem with importing video files turned on my Sony RX100iv. When I got to "import pictures and videos" I can now no longer see videos shot on this camera, unless they are a type of format (mp4 H.264 AAC). However, I previously imported videos from the same camera using different parameters (mp4 H.264 Linear PCM). In short, I used to be able to see and to import videos, now I can't.

Previous imported videos were under Lightroom v6.3. I tried this week import new vids still use v6.3 with no luck. Updated to 6.5 thought it may work... same question.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

After hours of troubleshooting, I thought about it 2 minutes after I posted the thread...

For all of you who were having problems like me, for some reason any Lightroom would not see all files in the folder structure created by the camera to the SD card when it is look at the SC map in the "Peripheral" to import window box. If you go down the folders on the SD card in the box "Files" of the import window, then LR will recognize/see video files in each folder separately... it just won't see them if you have the SD selected under the "Devices" area (at least for videos created by my Sony Rx100iv).

    Hope that helps someone else

  • Basis und erste institution Farbmanagement. Monitor Kalibrierter und richtge Einstellungen in Lightroom and Photoshop

    Hallo,

Kann mir bitte someone behilflich bei der first Farbmanagements in Photoshop Lightroom und Einstellung?

    Peter gruss

Photoshop will automatically use the monitor profile to display the images correctly. This happens behind the scenes and requires no action on your part. That's why the monitor profile is not mentioned in the color settings.

If you use the monitor as the RGB working space profile, you disable color management, so that Photoshop behaves like an application without color management. It's definitely not what you want to do.

You can certainly use Adobe RGB as a workspace if you wish. But the important thing is to have put color management policies to preserve embedded profiles.

In this way the profile will be preserved, and the image is not converted to the sRGB space (smaller).

  • Linear workflow of playback in real time

    Hello

If I play a clip of video footage (prores) in a model that it plays in real time (after RAM Preview). When I change the bitdepth up to 32 bit, it's still playback in real time. But when I change the color mode to a linear workspace, that it does not play in real time, it's only 5 / 25 fps.

Is it possible that I can still glimpse (RAM) the model in real time in AE when I use a linear workspace?

    I'm working on this machine:

    MacPro no later than 2013

    3 GHz 8core

    64 GB of memory

    SSD drive

    2 x AMD over-pants D700 6144 MB each

    Kind regards

    Martijn

AE CC 2015 represents the first step in a major overhaul of the architecture of the AE. Unfortunately, this is just the first step and it is not completely there yet. It has a number of important issues - especially with things like the preview. This massive change is good for the future of the AE, it isn't necessarily good right now. Think that CC 2015 is a beta where we can test some of the new features and it's a lot less frustrating. Now there's an update for 2015 coming out CC "at the end of the month", then your question could be set then.

In the meantime, try to use CC 2014. It tends to have fewer problems in general. See this page for download of older versions: http://blogs.adobe.com/adobecare/2015/06/16/how-to-find-and-install-previous-version-of-ad obe-apps-in-cc-2015 / let us know if it works for you.

  • Colors do not match from Lightroom (checked ICC, cab version and color settings)

    Greetings,

I have a picture of the water in the rocks in Lightroom CC 2015. Do you have all my settings and it looks the way I want it. He sent to Photoshop CC 2015 and I get this strange halo neon-aqua in the water.

The image has a DNG from a Panorama in Lightroom, so I tried the following:

    1. check that the treatment of color Aqua/Blue in Lightroom. Restore all files source panorama 0 and rebuilt. Same question.

    2. export file looking for good Lightroom as TIFF, then open it directly from Lightroom. Same question.

    3. open the TIFF file in other applications (e.g., Pixelmator, Raw Therapee). Image looks exactly as it does in Lightroom, so question should be in Photoshop.

    4. change the settings in the color settings in Photoshop. Tried of perceptual and Relative. Have all the options under "Color management policies" as "Preserve" and all options are checked. All combinations led to the same question.

5 enabled setting in Camera Raw by bridge and resynched setting for the CC apps. Same question.

6a changed to write the settings Lightroom develop in format JPG, TIFF, PSD files (I always checked even when XMP). Same question.

    7. calibrate the monitor with X - Rite ColorMunki Photo. Same question.

8 calibrate the monitor with a gain of X-Rite ColorMunki Photo, but this time with the ICC v2 profile. Same question.

    9. turned on GPU (MacBook Pro retina end 2013). Same question.

    10. tried to re-assiging and profile ProPhoto RGB conversion. Same question.

    11. I usually export to Photoshop as 16 bit, ZIP, 300 dpi, ProPhoto RGB TIFF. Tried to export to Photoshop as PSD. Same question.

12 tried exporting as sRGB and AdobeRGB. Who worked in the sense that the halos of aqua has disappeared, but the image is duller than in Lightroom (although a so slightly).

In view of the fact that the image is displayed as expected in all applications, but Photoshop (well, Illustrator as well, but it converts the subtle colors of the water in 8-bit, so I'm not sure that the problem is the same), I suspect I'm missing something in Photoshop. In addition, it seems to only affect how Photoshop interprets the images with ProPhoto RGB profiles. I don't remember having this problem with previous versions.

All the foregoing is CC versions and is up to date. ACR is 9.2.

Steps 1 through 9 were the ideas that I found elsewhere in the forums, but I'm out of ideas.

A reflection as to how I can continue to use ProPhoto RGB, given that my entire workflow is based on that?

    Thank you very much

    Paul

Screenshots would help, but from what you describe this must be your monitor profile. A problem with the profile itself, or an application is not loading the correct profile.

It does not matter what color space you export from Lightroom. These applications are the two color managed and will display the file correctly regardless of the color space. They must be synchronized (the exception is the threshold effect that can happen from Adobe RGB to sRGB, but you won't see that on a range wide-screen.) Any cutting of ProPhoto was moot because you don't see, in any case, on any monitor).

So when you say you see a difference between a file exported as ProPhoto and exported as Adobe RGB or sRGB, it's a smoking gun. Something wrong here, and the main suspect is still the monitor profile.

The two find themselves in the same monitor profile, but the source profiles are different. In Lightroom, it is linear (gamma 1.0) ProPhoto, in Photoshop gamma 1.8 ProPhoto, Adobe RGB or sRGB. Conversions are so different. This is why a bad profile may appear differently in different scenarios.

Basic troubleshooting is to replace the monitor with a known good profile. That would be the sRGB or Adobe RGB, depending on whether your monitor is a standard or wide range. Then see if there is still a difference. Be sure to restart both applications when done - they load the profile screen on startup.
