Link backward hard to switch 2960

Hello

Just installed a new switch 2960.

Everything works except that I'm no longer uplink a linksys unmanged switch rest previous configuration is small.

I use x-cable and tried switchport setting modes.

If I use a straight through cable, the link goes up and down constantly. If I use a cable x, the link remains standing but no communication.

What I am doing wrong?

Brian,

I guess that the problem that is necessary is a problem of line speed negotiation. Without specific equipment model numbers and ports used on the material for the uplink, that's just a guess.

All Linksys switches auto cross above. Then this function can be disabled (on most models), it shouldn't be a problem.

You can plug your Linksys 10/100/1000 of the 2960 which may be confusing the Linksys terribly if it's only 10/100. Test a statically defined or 10/100 ports on your 2960 speeds of line on one or two devices, if applicable.

Get the model and port numbers and we will look more deeply.

Thank you

Chris

  • Have you RME 4.3.2 have plan to support switches 2960-plus?

    Hi all

Our client already replace 2960-plus series instead of the old 2960 switch but I found RME4.3.2 not yet supported to date.

Nobody knew RME 4.3.2 intend to support switches 2960-plus?

    Thank you and best regards,

Although the new support of device is sometimes worn with packets of main defence forces, for the inventory feature, SWIMMING and config device management package is a must.

As Cisco 2960 has published more than devices in 2013, when updates to LMS 3.x was almost stopped, we started LMS 4.2 devices from media.

However it doesn't show anything on the list of peripheral pages supported, which was filed as a default for this document:

CSCul91548    LMS 4.2 - C2960 more switches are missing on supported devices page

You will need to upgrade to 4.2 LMS from to get these managed switches.

  • Configure the link point to point switches VSS backup

I have two basic switches in each office linking the two by point to point one desktop.

Now I have the second point to point which I wan to serve as a backup.

See fix main diagram point to point is set up in Vlan not as routed port...

What is the best way to do this?

If the two links are routed links then your config will work as his floating static so 20 advertising will be more preferred as its bottom, I would use sla monitoring and intellectual property to apply, so it is removed from the table right away and replaced with the backup route

  • HP Envy 700 - xt desktop: How can I stop recovery of training hard and switch to disk system?

Called Costco to get assistance from the technology with a desktop computer HP Envy. The tech asked me to do a system of hard drive recovery, even if I got recovery discs...

The computer screen showed 100% software installation of recovery in less than two hours and the machine came into fashion "deactivate the tower."

Problem: 'Disable lap' mode is still ongoing, and now it has been a full 6 hours and then some.

Question #1: Can the office be manually stop to stop the process without end 'disable on tour' without harming the computer?

Question #2: Guidance concerning such a judgment and then redo the system recovery once more, but this time with the recovery discs?

Theoretically, the hard drive by using Recovery Manager F11 recovery should produce the same results as the set of recovery disks.  The set of recovery disks will probably replace all and then give the factory settings.  The result should be the same, however, I don't see no harm to do so.  What did you do to try to get out if "turn on, turn off"?

On the thing to try before using the drive set - unplug the PC from the wall.  Press the power button, that would be turning on the PC if connected.  Hold button power in 30 seconds to a minute.  And then reconnect the power cord to back in and try to feed normally upward.

Hello, I have a 135 GB HDD I'll replace it with a 250 GB hard drive. I was wondering if I pass this before doing the upgrade I get it still or I have to do after the upgrade? I use a laptop.

    Hello

If I understand you correctly, you want to know that if you replace the old HDD with a new one, you are able to upgrade to Windows 10 or not. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If you already have reserve 10 Windows on the Windows 7 computer, then you will not have to book it again. As a reservation of 10 windows on the the media access control (MAC ID) your computer. This reserve is computer specific.

If you have the book yet, you can book it by following the steps mentioned in the article below.

Upgrade to Windows 10 for free

Hope that the information provided is useful. Let us know if you have questions related to Windows, we will be happy to help you.

Hey the config looks ok just disappeared locally pointing to the other switch, default gateway as you say

PC must be set with the 192.168.31.250 gateway vlan 31 and have a static ip address in the same range and same subnet

Make sure that your vlan 31 is to the top/top

  • Linking rising switch config - Communication between them

I'll install UCS with two Catalyst switches (3560 and 3750G). Make a channel of port pair-bond between them? It is a requirement for communication in the workplace?

To connect the port-channel coming from the FIs to each of two switches? Or I can cable two links to the same uplink switch?

Plase answer quickly because I am short on time...

    Post edited by: Atle Dale

    Hi Atle,

Yes we need a l2 of common platforms for VLAN set them on the UCS, as the two FI create two different fabrics (A & B) and all traffic on the blade on B A and vice versa should be settled by the switches upstream. If you do not have a common upper the 3560 and 3750 the then you need to have a link between the two switches. Make sure that enable the VLAN (set on ucs and others if necessary) on these ports but also to ensure that the protocols spanning-tree does not block the.

I'm not very sure of your second question, but on what I understand:

    (1) If you have several links will even pass his favorite to put in a purchase order

    (2) given that these switches are different and not in a VSS, you need seprate in. for each switch.

    I hope this helps!

  • Switching hard drives - urgent.

I just bought a HP DV7-1450US laptop with the intention of changing the hard drive of my HP Dv2000 which has a burned screen (which currently holds my school papers) in the news.  Now I call HP and they say they won't help me with hard around switching drives unless I'm paying $60 AFTER THAT other employees have said they would be happy to help with switching hard drives, and they said, it would be easy to "work through it."  I don't know squat about computers, and I won't be $700 (or $ 760) in the hole, because technical support can't get their message right. Are really interchangeable hard drives, as HP claims, or they're lying, basically?  They said that it was extremely simple and common practice.

Yes, you can switch the hard drives, but if you put the dv2000 only in the dv7 is not likely to start or function correctly as primary drive.

How to get the hard drive out of the dv2000

There is a caddy (sled) and a connector plastic disk hard dv2000 and you will need to remove them before you can use it in anything else.

The dv7 allows a 2nd hard drive which is just data storage. Windows is not running. Just put the dv2000 drive in the drive Bay hard 2d empty on the dv7. As indicated earlier, he must strip the dv2000 by car down to its core feature until you can put it in the dv7.

    Dv7 manual

Look at the Page 56 of Chapter 4. You remove a large flat plastic down with several screws. The inside is empty hard disk Bay. Connect the drive hard naked dv2000 in the SATA connectors in the open Bay dv7. Now, put the cover back on. It's temporary. If you plan to use 2 hard drives in the dv7 permanently you need a second drive enclosure hard dv7 but just a temporary file transfer, you are lucky that the dv7 has regular old SATA connectors and you don't have a trolley or a connector to connect a second hard drive for just a temporary thing. Now return the laptop and fire. the disk hard dv2000 should appear in my computer as a new drive applied as probably 'E '. Just open upward and find and drag and drop your files (documents from the school) for this drive in the primary drive and you are back in business.

  • Best link between SG500-52?

    Hello

What is the best (fastest) way to interconnect two SG500-52?

I'm on a budget of 2.5 k 30 ports floor 1 & 2, 30 floor gigabit. The bandwidth on the network is not very high, but the link between the two switches would be the neck of the bottle I think. What can I do to optimize the flow on this link? I can pull the fiber or several cat 6 cables, but I can't use the coaxial cable of 5 metres 5G (there is no other option to use this port as 5G?) because of the physical distance between the switches.

I would be able to create an OFFSET on both switches Say 5-10 (normally access ports, not the uplink (sfp) ones) ports?

Or for the budget, any configuration with 2960's would fit (better)?

Sg500 use the 5 gig links or if youre on budget, 8-port aggregation of links. SG500X would be the 10 gig links

  • Web authentication with RSA SecureID on a Cisco Switch

    Hello

I recently searched by linking in our Cisco Switch of GB 2960 S with RSA SecureID via Radius

I already managed to tie in to ssh access

but I failed to make it work for http / web access to the switch

I think it's because we use 'single use' maximum security with RSA SecureID tokens

the web interface tries to authenticate several times against the Radius server RSA SecureID part

(agreement on the first authentication, but every time after that he's going to want a different code in token)

I was wondering if anyone knew a way around this? (if there is a way to get the right switch authenticate once instead of multiple times the radius server)

    FYI, the switch is a WS-C2960S-24TS-L with IOS 15.0 (1) SE2

    Hello Chris,

You can test the following configuration?

    AAA webtac_grp radius server group

    Server

    expiration of cache 1

    authorization cache profile httpauth

    hiding authentication profile httpauth

    !

AAA authentication login httpauth cache webtac_grp group webtac_grp

AAA authorization exec httpauth cache webtac_grp group webtac_grp

AAA authorization network httpauth cache webtac_grp group webtac_grp

    AAA cache profile httpauth

    all the

    IP http server

IP http authentication aaa - authentication of the connection httpauth

IP http authentication aaa exec-authorization httpauth

    RADIUS server host key *.

I know for sure the above configuration works when you use GANYMEDE + instead of RADIUS in order to avoid multiple guests due to the authentication of JAVA Applets to access the GUI of the IOS. I him have not tested against RSA acting as an authentication server.

NOTE: As "aaa authorization exec" is configured the RSA should send Service-Type attribute with administrative value for it to work as expected.

If this was helpful please note.

    Kind regards.

    Firefox 7.0.1 on Win7 pro 64

    Hello team FF & community.

sometimes FF 6/7 shows a VERY strange behavior:
While 'normal' things on Web sites (click on the links, edit text, scrolling, evolution of the tabs boxes) FF starts to ignore my simple clicks. The only way to work is with double-click instead of single-click (i.e. for links, enter a SBO, switch tabs, even to open a menu of Firefox) for all actions.

Previously, the last example was about a minute

     https://plus.google.com/circles/find

While moving to a "circle" contact - FF changes only are allowed double clicks. No errors, no message.

I found this behavior buggy on many different sites - simple websites and with complex features, too - in the past few weeks since bf6 + 7 are current versions.

With my other two questions, I get the idea that the current releases of FF contain more bugs in versions between FF1 to FF3.

OK, I think that this issue (change of behavior: needs double click to get the reaction of simple click)-isRESOLVED: -

I have disabled all addons and enabled/tested one by one... it was, apparently, the add-on "Multi links 3.0.0.16" was the problem.

I replaced it with "Snap Links 2.1.1" (installed, but not yet tried a new), and less than a week daily work of 10-12 I never got this bug again.

    SOLVED!

I'm confused why the sound is similar to a click of death as seen in the link (my hard drive Seagate Barracuda 500 GB) below

Once Windows 8 has been installed successfully make a new set of recovery disc for Windows 8 so that if everything fails, you can the recovery disc restores on Windows 8.

    -Terry

    Hello Terry,

The 8024 does not support a SHIFT of two different switches, the only way it would work, if the switches are stacked and effectively a single switch. If you have used the new series N4000 they take over MLAG, allowing for the OFFSET will be in both switches and they communicate via a peer.
