link database question...
This issue is long - my apologies. but I tried several combinations and none of them work, and I'm very stressed!Suppose that global_names is set to TRUE. I can't connect to our HQ database as sysdba to check the name of the service.
If my tnsnames.ora file has the following entry:
REMOTE_HEADQUARTERS =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS - (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = headquarters.machine.name)(PORT = ###)
(LINK DATA = (SID = REMOTE_HEADQUARTERS))
)
I need to make a database connection to this database, of it...
MYDB. DHCP. REGARDLESS OF =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = #. #. #. #)(PORT = ###))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = mydb.ourservername)
)
)
so when I log in MYDB and want to create this database link, can I really be sure what is the service name of the headquarer - since it is not explicitly specified in the tnsnames.ora file?
c when you declare the link db, what should I put as the "connect_string" here:
create database REMOTE_HEADQUARTERS link
hq_username identified by hq_password
using "connect_string;
I think you've identified the difference...
this entry allows me to connect to the remote system in SQLPLUS:
REMOTE_HEADQUARTERS.OTHER_SYSTEM =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESSS - (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = headquarters.machine.name)(PORT = ####)
(CONNECT DATA = (SID = REMOTE_HEADQUARTERS))
)
while this one does not....
REMOTE_HEADQUARTERS =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESSS - (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = headquarters.machine.name)(PORT = ####)
(CONNECT DATA = (SID = REMOTE_HEADQUARTERS))
)
Check your domaine_par_defaut setting in your sqlnet.ora file.
Net Services reference:
Use parameter NAMES. Domaine_par_defaut to set the domain that the client more often up name resolution requests. When this parameter is set, the default domain name is automatically added to any unqualified network service name or service name.

Panel links database in trial version? {edited by moderator topic}
I'm trying to set up a simple connection using mysql and php. I have the setup of the website and the database. My problem is when I go to the links / database, there is no option for recordrowset.
This is simply due to the trial version (downloaded cs5.5 and CC). I don't want to pay for the full version if I'm having the same problem.
Thanks in advance

I did a form in DW to insert videos in a database, and I need to make it very technical to the people who use the it. The videos are already on the server and I need to add the database as a URL. My question is, is it possible to add an address in the form, so that the person can type just "movie.mov' in the form and it will automatically be entered in the database as" http://www.website.com/movie.mov "?
Thank you!
Edit: added the code!Enter 'movie.mov' in the database. In the Web page where it should be used
as a link, do it like this-http://www.example.com/<> > echo rs_movies ["yourfield"];? > "> get"

Use of temporary space through linked databases
Im trying to solve a problem with a client that tries to insert data (about 200 k lines) in a table after a clone. They receive the error ORA-01652 unable to extend segment temp of 128 in tablespace TEMP. However, the table is accessible via a public link through the applications on this cloned database schema. The APPS schema, however, ORATMP, not use TEMP (TEMP is not yet on this database related, however, time IS on the database in which the user is connected). I agree that when you access through a link, all operations are held on the database, and not local. The related database has about 50 gigs of available temp. Is there a chance this user uses somehow local temperature and not the temp via the link?
thtsang
Thanks for the help, increase in temp on the local database seemed to do the trick, and the problem was solved!

ESXi 4.0 vSphere database questions
Hello all-
You have a few questions ago hit upward with the SQL 2005 database.
History:
The vmware database has been improved from 3.5 to 4.0 and now I am planning to upgrade to 4.1. By checking everything out, it was discovered that vmrollup jobs had stopped months ago.
Current issue:
We began the work of vmrollup to the top and now fill our database retains transaction log.
I recently became the administrator of the virtual machine, so I think that rollups have been a matter of right when the vSphere environment has been upgraded to 4.0 but it was without doubt the previous vm admin way to deal with it (turn them off). I want these back on however whenever the daily work starts up, it fills the transaction log in an hour. I disabled the intervals of 2 hours and 1 day in stats, hoping that would help some, but no, probably because he always tries to rollup in the past months that the work was not working. I made recommendations on the following kb 1017266, still no luck. Anyone else have any ideas?
Also thought the migration of the BDD SQL2005 to SQL2008. The db SQL2008 has much more space that I could probably allow the newspaper to grow until the work has been done, but who knows how big the 'thing' happen to. Is there a method of choice on the migration of the database from 2005 to 2008? Currently, our database is 12G and records 10G. When I start vmrollup jobs newspapers reach 20 + G less than an hour and then of course miss out us of place on the active area. Our environment is made up of 20 hosts with 95 guests.
Once I get this problem taken care of, is there a vmware database maintenance plan recommended that we should follow? I see the 2.5, but nothing recent or maybe I have not dug deep enough.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
If there is a way to remove these old statistics and start from scratch, that would be great

Link request / Question of isolation
Hi all
We currently evaluate Thinapp, and I have a question about on the side of the isolation of the things. Here's the situation:
(1) Java 1.4.2_08 already installed as part of the construction of the BONE
(2) Thinapp Firefox 3.0.8 and goto javatester.org and he reports the basic Java build (as expected)
(3) Thinapp Firefox 3.0.8 again but this time, including Java version 6 release 13 via the Application Link - goto javatester.org (reports v6.13 as expected)
(4) load Firefox leave from step 3, and then load the original Firefox and javatester.org reports v6.13
What do you guys expect? I had expected (hoped) in step 4 see Firefox Java 1.4.2_08 reports in a single window and v6.13 in another window. But it seems that the first Thinapp had Firefox to be sets loaded standard.
Maybe I'm missing something but I thought that this technology would be to be able to deliver multiple copies of the same application bundled with various versions of Java, but it doesn't seem to be the case...
Any info much received.
Thank you
Rob.
This stuff is specific app. Firefox checks for example at startup to see if another copy of Firefox is already running (unless you include that-no-line switch remote control). If it finds another copy running (virtual or a native copy), it will indicate that copy to open a new window. With Firefox so you'll see that (unless you include the - no - remote switch) which version you started the first will also be used for subsequent launches. Outlook has this behavior too.
For the Oracle customer, this problem does not exist. It is no problem to pack two different versions of the Oracle Client in two different packages and run them at the same time.

Primary key with PHPmysql database question
I know that the update of the primary key is a taboo subject, but I have a newsletter subscription form set up that works perfectly, but I can't understand how to create the primary key. I tried to use the subscriber email address (because its unique, but when trying to add a function to update, I realize that the e-mail address may have to be updated.)
My question is how do I get a primary key that works when I'm relying on a form variable to create the folder and did so no control over the assignment of one?
Is it possible to have one assigned automatically when a Subscriber clicks on the submit button?
This is why it is always a good idea to use surrogate keys. You can just have the database generates a unique id. In MySQL, I think that there is a column with the auto_increment attribute. If you then get this id after insert, php has functions for this (mysql_insert_id() I think).

Relationship of MySQL database question
I'll put up a site where registered users can categorize their vinyl Japanese toys (i.e. vinyl kaiju). I have 2 tables:
collection
Members
Member has an ID that is unique to each Member (naturally). within the collection, I have kaijuID and username.
I need to understand what the best way to get the ID of the Member table to fill in the table of the collection, which allows each registered user to see just their collection.
I can wrap the head around displaying the collection based on the user ID - I just can't understand where to add the user ID information in the collection database.
The structure of the site has:
login page
Homepage
Add kaiju
Discover the kaiju
Update kaiju
Search kaiju
Add / view / update / search pages will use all ID's not a big problem because I have the ID of the user as a basis for the results on these pages. It is the addition of a new part of kaiju that I can't understand. Where this form would associate the connected to the user that he added silently to their identity as well as the toy info card? A hidden field would be a natural assumption - that could be part of the action to submit?
So basically, here's the breakdown:
User A has an ID 001
User A wants to catalogue kaiju 2: Godzilla and Gamera
When the user has submitted these two each will have the ID of 001 user added in the column of table collection labelled as username (which is identical to the column in the Member table).
That will allow the collection seen precisely show just member collection Clément.
Phew. Any suggestion would be appreciated. I looked through the documentation CS3 and have achieved to date, but don't see anything for relational databases.
Thank you!<---- this="" goes="" at="" the="" top="" of="" all="" of="" the="" pages="" in="" code="">---->
From there, when you create the Recordset, use the filter option, for example:
filter: user_name =
Session variable
user_nameDifferent session variables that can be used in the present is in the links under the Sessions tab.
In each table, you will need to have a field named 'user_name '. Basically, think of it as a link between the 2.

Elegant keyboard / mouse combo - Link-5 question
I recently bought a HP combo elegant key/mouse wireless.
However, I prefer a mouse with extra side so buttons and more, I bought a HP X 6000 Wireless Mouse that comes with the receiver dongle USB Link-5.
I was hoping to only use a USB receiver to connect both elegant wireless keyboard (P/n: 672648-002) and mouse wireless X 6000, but it did not work. I don't know if the keyboard is compatible with Link-5 or the receiver combo-compatible mouse.
Is it possible to use one of these dongles for two devices?
Thank you
Julz77, welcome to the forum.
It is my understanding that technology receiver dongle USB Link-5 requires the firmware on the side of the device and the USB receiver. It is supposed to work with only a family of devices. I doubt that the mouse X 6000 has the necessary firmware.

HPDM 4.6 - SQL database Question
I have the console HPDM installed on my machine and the device management server/gateway running on a server. The database is a database of SQL2012. I've set up a new machine with SQL2014, and I want to move the database there. I'm not moving all other parts.
The problem that I'm running into is that I don't know where to go or what pieces to apply the change to, to point the HPDM at the new location of the SQL Server.
Any help is appreciated! Thank you.
Another way to migrate the DB - dbsetup.exe stimulus, before doing so, please the current DB using the backup of backup & restore tools
1. stop the server HPDM
2. navigate... \Hp Device Manager\Server\bin in the command line window
3. run dbsetup '-language = en ""-country = US "to reopen the DIALOGUE of INSTALLATION DB box
4. choose the third option - MIGRATE
5. choose source DB and select the destination DB
6 finish the Walker
7. start the DM server

Hello
I just write a small example of HTML5 database and it works on my new Bold 9900 (. 353), but not on a Bold 9700 (6.0.0.570). The application is compiled with SDK 2.1.1
Code looks like:
var db; function openDB() { db = openDatabase("ToDo", "0.1", "A list of to do items.", 200000); if(!db) { alert("Failed to connect to database."); } else { alert("Connected to database"); } } function createTable() { db.transaction( function(tx) { tx.executeSql("SELECT COUNT(*) FROM ToDo", [], null, function(tx, error) { tx.executeSql("CREATE TABLE ToDo (id REAL UNIQUE, label TEXT, timestamp REAL)", [], null, null); } ); } ); } function insertTable() { db.transaction( function(tx) { tx.executeSql("INSERT INTO ToDo (label, timestamp) values(?, ?)", ["TEST", new Date().getTime()], null, null); } ); } function selectRows() { db.transaction( function(tx) { tx.executeSql("SELECT * FROM ToDo", [], function(tx, result) { for(var i = 0; i < result.rows.length; i++) { document.write('' + result.rows.item(i)['label'] + '
'); } }, null); } ); }And the idea?
Thank you.

EDIT: is it because the Bold 9700 does not an SD card?
I just inserted a memory card in the 9700er and it works.
