Link to the glossary of RoboHelp topics?

In RoboHelp 9, it is possible to insert a link in a topic to a definition in the glossary of the project OR...

is there another way to be able to day/change definitions of the term in all cases where they appear without having to manually change the pop-up windows or expanding glossary hotspots?

Thank you!

Welcome to our community

If you create your terms and definitions using the glossary designer then use the glossary Hotspot Assistant to qualify through the topics. And if you work in this way, when you update the definitions they are updated in the sections where they exist.

  • Link to the glossary

    I know how to link pages to get the look I want thanks to the help of all, but another question. With key words, we would like that the link points to the glossary. It doesn't have to link to the word (although that would be pretty cool) just the glossary on the right and the home page.

    Hi jtncarter,
    My suggestion:
    Using the Hotspot Assistant in the pod of glossary, connect the words subjects and these words (listed in the glossary) are displayed as hyperlinks in the output. You can click on the words to see their definition developed text.

  • Can I remove various topics in RH10 without remove the links to the deleted section?

    If I delete a topic in RH10 project manager then I have the option not to remove the links to the deleted section (useful because I then want to search on broken links). The downside is that I can remove only one topic at a time. However, I can delete multiple fields using the list of topics, but it removes the link to the topic as well.

    Anyone know how I can remove several RH10 topics and keep the broken links to the deleted section?

    By submitting a feature request! It has been like that for many versions.

  • Link to the embedded Captivate slide HR topics?

    RH10, WebHelp, Captivate 6

    Hello

    I use HR for years, but I am new to Captivate.

    I want to have a substitution effect in a topic of WebHelp, whereby the user can hover the mouse over a chart and a window will open. Inside the pop - up will be hyperlinks to topics of a WebHelp project.

    My understanding of this day, is that I can insert a Captivate slide in topic WebHelp to achieve this. The slide in Captivate would contain the graphic background and a "slidelet.

    My question is, at what point can I create hyperlinks to WebHelp topics in the slidelet? I have to do to Captivate, and if yes how can I specify the path the link target?

    Or I can make this link after I got the Captivate slide and slidelet in WebHelp project?

    Hmmm, for some reason, I forget that they have added the ability to Captivate 6.

    Good so what you have to do is consider where the Captivate movie will (as in which folder) at the time wherever it is presented in the WebHelp. If you are linking to the XXX.htm section and within RoboHelp, this topic is in a folder called FolderOne, it will depend on the folder that the Captivate movie is. Often, they are inserted in the root of the project. So if this proves to be the case, you should insert the following text in the field:

    FolderOne/XXX.htm

    I'll give my theory a try and see if it works for me.

    Remember that the links might fail when you test locally, unless you add the location of the project to the list of sites approved for the Flash Player.

  • RoboHelp Page a link to the Dreamweaver Page

    I need a specific document in Robohelp a link to a Dreamweaver document, but all I can do is the homepage link and the user must then search the page to which I'm referring. How to link pages?

    Welcome to the forum.

    You say you want a link to a Dreamweaver document but then say whatever you can link to is the homepage that sounds like the default RoboHelp theme.

    I suspect that what you want is a Dreamweaver page have a link in it and this link is open a topic of RoboHelp, RoboHelp topic is not the default theme. Is this correct?

    If If the link will be the relative path to the HR start page, the subject that opens to aid within the meaning of the first page of the HR Assistant, followed by hash and the path to the required topic. Something like

    startpage.htm#PathToFolder/requiredtopic.htm.

    Take a look at the topic on my site on call webhelp by using URLS.

  • Problem with merged webhelp (Robohelp 10) linking to the child projects

    Hello

    I recently upgraded to Robohelp 9 to 10.

    I used as indicated on the site Web of Peter Grange merged Webhelp. To establish a link between the projects of the child the hyperlink would be entered as:

    .. /Folder/filename.htm

    Since the upgrade to 10 new hyperlinks cannot be entered in this format that the OK button when inserting a hyperlink does not let you save.

    Existing links still work using the format above.

    Is this a change in 10 or I do something wrong?

    Thank you

    A clean complete re install of RH10 did fix this problem of not being able to return the railways on the projects of the child.

  • Format adapted remotely a"topic" link in the TOC for FlashHelp

    Hi all

    I have several child projects have been merged into a master project through the table of contents.

    In the original CHM versions my application may start each project of the children through the main project by calling specific entries in the table of contents:

    Master.chm::/child.chm::/welcome.htm

    If I build the same source using FlashHelp I get the same result merged, but the links in the table of contents no longer work and I get an error "cannot display this page".

    I guess the link format is different for FlashHelp but don't know what to put in its place.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Ian

    Well Yes, if your calls are to a CHM and you generate FlashHelp, they will fail.

    You need create calls in the same way as WebHelp. See the WebHelp page on my site. The URLS are what we use, where you know what is called. You use the startpage.htm#mergedProjects/path/target_topic.htm format.

  • topic: Home link on the Web page does not work

    I have inserted a link on my Web page to about: home of the user to the homepage of firefox to take
    It looks like this:
    < a href = "subject: House" > < /a > Firefox
    It seems to work fine on the desktop browser, but it does not work on Firefox Android on the Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N8010 using the android 4.1.2 version and Firefox Android version 33.0.
    The link does not work, however, is recognized as a link, since the long press on the link gives options for opening/copying the link, but if I then select "Open in new tab", it still doesn't open it.
    Is this normal or if the link works?
    Thanks to anyone who can answer this,

    It will not work. It's intentional.

  • HR 11 printed Documentation: how to reduce the gaps/spacing between topics

    Hello to everyone in RoboLand,

    I use 11 HR and 2013 of Word on a Windows 7 computer.

    I need help to find a way to close the gap between help topics that are generated (printed material) HR (using a Word template). Please see the example (image) below, as well as my image below Styles settings.

    Thank you

    ~ H

    gap btween topics.jpg

    In Word, attempts that have failed are as follows:

    -Keep all lines (power switch)

    -Keep with next (power switch)

    NumberList setting 11 HR Styles - in form/multilevel list

    1. Level 1 Style: paragraph Style: white, list Style: decimal 1 2 3, change the Style: < x >, police: Arial 10 PT.

    a. level 2 Style: paragraph Style: blank, list-Style: Lower-alpha a, b and c, change the Style: < x >, police: Arial/10pt

    Word FlexiNumberList template styles - list formatting form/multilevel

    1. " 1 position number: number of alignment: left aligned: 0.15", removal of text to: 0.3 "

    " a. level 2 Position of the letter: number alignment: left-aligned: 0.25", removal of text to: 0,4 "

    11 HR - heading 2

    • Formatting: Do = Arial, font style = "BOLD", size = 14pt, auto = Highlight, font color = auto (black)
    • Spacing (police): Normal, Position = Baseline
    • Advanced: Style = Normal, weight is "BOLD", Overline = Off, sets of fonts is agency FB
    • Style: Normal
    • Paragraph: Alignment = left
    • Indentation: Left = 0pt, right = 14pt, special = none
    • Spacing: Before = 14pt after = 14pt, special = none
    • Line spacing: Unique

    Word - heading 2

    • Style properties: Name = heading 2, type Style = linked (paragraph and character), Style based on = Normal, paragraph Style following = Normal
    • Formatting: Do = Arial, font style = Regular, size = 14pt font color = (black) = automatic underscore none style
    • Paragraph /Retraits & spacing: Alignment = left, hierarchical level = level 2
    • Indentation: "Left = 0", right = 0 ", special = none
    • Spacing: Before = 18pt, after 6 pt, line spacing = Single =
    • Point/line and Page breaks: Pagination = window and orphans + Dungeon with next + lines to keep together, tight wrap = None

    The gap you see is due to the definition of the styles. I guess the gap looks straight in HR.

    The gap is the total of the spacing before under heading 2, more spacing after the style of the list. Experiment with these two until you get something that is acceptable and also works when the lists are not respected by the title 2 and title 2 is not preceded by a list. Good luck with that.

  • RoboHelp HTML Version 10. -OK to use a tool for cleaning HTML on RoboHelp topics?

    We are considering using an Internet tool like www.cleanuphtml.com to clean the html inline styles in a large number of RoboHelp topics imported from Word several years ago. After cleaning, we can always use the styles in our CSS. Did anyone see any potential problems here? Here's what the cleanup tool added to the Head section. It then uses these "internal" styles to clean HTML code. Thank you - Charlie Kyle

    HTML cleaning

    < head >

    < meta http-equiv = "Content-Language" content = "en-US" / >

    < name meta = "generator" content = "Adobe RoboHelp 10" / >

    AAANew Topic1 < title > < / title >

    < link rel = "StyleSheet" href = "Our_CSS.css" type = "text/css" / > "

    < style type = "text/css" > / * <! [CDATA [* /]]

    {p.cleanuphtml - 13}

    text-indent:-40px;

    margin left: 140px;

    }

    {table.cleanuphtml - 12}

    margin left: 40px;

    }

    {Col.cleanuphtml - 11}

    Width: 20%;

    }

    .. .more styles

    [[/ *]] > * / < / style >

    < / head >

    End of HTML cleaning

    I have not seen any reference to this tool on creating sites that I follow, that does not mean that it will not work without problems, just that there is nothing to do.

    Where I could expect problems in the future, it's when edit you the CSS or you want to apply a new. Your content will always be the embedded CSS that you printed. What works today might work tomorrow and then again...

    I don't want to clean with a good search and replace tool, but it's the way that I would go with a lot of backup.

  • Why have I not two sets of links in the navigation bar on the start page of my project?

    With the help of TCS3/Windows XP.

    I get only two identical sets of navigation links on the start page.  All subjects have only one.

    Thank you very much!

    Okay, so here's what I would try.

    Make a backup of this topic to our dear friend Justin.

    Open the topic in the editor, and then delete the red squares. Just click on it to select it and press the delete key.

    Build again and see if the breadcrumbs to perform an act of normalization.

  • Quickly fill the glossary

    I like the idea in the info below, posted November 8, 2006 by the Menting, but does not work. I have 4 entries in my glossary - need to add other approximately 100. However, when I open the file .glo in the project, it is empty. I saved my HR 7 closed project, and the file is always empty. Any ideas?

    II has recently converted a WinHelp project to HTML. The only problem I encountered is that the terms are all in "BOLD" and a larger font than normal glossary HTML output. This is very ugly and gives me a headache after watching only two or three entries. Because I subscribe to the philosophy "be nice to the customer", I would like to correct this. Does anyone have the solution? Any help will be much appreciated by me, at least.

    * Open your .glo file in Notepad.
    * copy and paste your glossary on another notebook - delete text on your current file to .glo.
    * Paste the other notepad entry in the .glo file which is currenty in Notepad.

    of course, remember to save your original file from .glo before doing so.

    Example of .glo entry

    NAME = data
    Definition of data.
    NAME = element
    Definition of the element.

    NAME must be in uppercase followed by an = sign, then your entry in the glossary. Check that the definition appears on the following paragraph.

    Hi yenelli

    The only thing that comes to mind is that maybe you are not looking in the right place. Assuming you have four entries in your glossary, it should be given in the file. This suggests that you are not looking to the right file.

    It may be useful to use one of my favorite time all RoboHelp tips here. To quickly open Windows Explorer to the location of the project. Just right click on any topic in your project and choose Properties (it can also say properties). Then click on the file tab. See this button at the bottom right of the dialog box? One marked the folder? Click on this puppy and Windows Explorer should open in your project location. Sweet, huh?

    Now try to look at the. GLO file you will find and see if you are able to see your entries.

  • A link to the entries of Webhelp

    I exported a file to RoboHelp Word help to WebHelp. How to point users to a particular topic by using a url? The helper application is here:
    http://www.profantasy.com/cchelp/fcad32.htm

    For example, if I clicked on the "CC3 for new users" link and wanted someone to be able to point their browser to it, should what link I use?

    Thank you

    Simon Rogers

    ProFantasy-

    The URL of your http://www.profantasy.com/cchelp/fcad32.htm will indeed bring your users to the "CC3 for new users" section, as is your default page.

    To display other pages within Webhelp, you will use the hashmark syntax. If the subject is in a subdirectory, you will need to add that as well. A move to 'Presentation of cosmographer Pro', for example, would use the hashmark, subdirectory and topic name, as follows:

    http://www.profantasy.com/cchelp/fcad32.htm#cosmographer/hlp_cnc_cosm.htm

    HelloW,

    I intend to buy a system like Robohelp help authoring, but I need to know whether or not Adobe Robohelp 6 is the latest version.

    If this is not the case, what are the latest versions? and how can I get their trial?

    Thank you.

    Where did you read RoboEngine in these topics, which is the name of the previous version of RoboHelp Server 6.

    Don't think WebHelp Pro is a must have. A lot of people to produce professional help perfectly well with plain WebHelp. You must decide if you need not additional features. The Pro is no longer output contains the natural language search you'll see referred to in these sections.
