Link will find no Internet Explorer

I had Google Chrome come as long as an unwanted program with one update of another program. I've uninstalled it. My choice of the browser in Internet Explorer. Now when I click on a link that opens in Internet Explorer, I get a message saying Windows cannot open this file because it needs to know what program it will open. I said that Internet Explorer opens to her and he does. He also says that it will be remembered that the internet will open but next time I click on the link I have to go through the same procedure. How can I restore my normal relationships with Internet Explorer? Thank you

From the Start Menu or the Control Panel, open default programs.  Click Internet Explorer in the programs list.  Then select set this program as default.

    Hi Janie,

The executable file for IE is called iexplore.exe.  You can click Start and then type iexplore in the search field.

Microsoft has a tool to resolve this that should return the IE icon on the desktop - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945402. Under the fix for me article, there is a button, you must click called Microsoft Fix it.  Click run in the file download dialog box. Follow the steps in the Wizard icon on the desktop to display Internet Explorer to create an Internet Explorer desktop icon.

Answer him back if you try this method and let us know if it is your problem.  It is a relatively new tool and it would be nice to receive feedback on how it works.  There are several other applets fix it available for further questions.  More information can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/fixit#tab0.

  • I can't find windows internet Explorer so I can uninstall

I looked into programs uninstall, see installed updates, etc.. NO luck. I found IE8 and uninstalled properly, and then another version picked. I can find it in the directories, but it says I need permission to remove it. I am the only user/administrator/etc. I can't do what I want with my PC. I'm really upset. I don't have problems with IE [all versions]. I need to take down them. However, I want to find and install Outlook Express. I was told that it was party to the large package from IE6. I'd install this one.

Windows live mail is not the least bit configurable, so I had to try Mozilla thunderbird. Its much better than the windows helluva live Inc. but not nearly as good as even the old versions of OE.
Please help me. This laptop is not worth a darn as is. I need to get some features I like at least a little.

    http://www.Greenpatch.co.UK/cricketbiogs/
All my "BOLD" links in the features box shows fine in firefox and safari but not in Internet Explorer. I have attached the css. Thank you very much in advance.

    Try to write as a separate for IE as statement: make-weight: bold;

I was wondering if IE is not the straight reading. I have a weird feeling as it should be in a different order for IE on this line, but I just can't put 2 and 2 together this morning. But if the above works, then I feel that the weight must be in a particular place and is not in the right place, which is why IE can't see. And just for clarification is contains all versions of IE or is - this specific to 6 or 7?

  • Navigation bar links work only in Internet Explorer 7

Hey people.  I have a site where he looks a lot like IE 8, Mozilla, Chrome, and Safari, but not in IE 7.

The site is for an annual conference and I know that dozens of people who are going to be displayed to the site using IE 7 with no intention to upgrade.  Even my company uses IE 7 and that's how I learned this morning that the site works in it.  And then panic the value in... lol.

I am actually trying to find a workaround for the real site right now... so this link below is actually on the partially completed test site, I've been working on until I finished it and it flies.

I DON'T know how to code HTML... so I think with a possible workaround.  I don't want to have Javascript code tries to recognize the browser and sending people to IE7 to a slightly different site... but if it's the only way, then it will have to do.

    Hello

You have two image empty frames on the master page covering the elements of two image albums. It is very likely one (or two) of these frameworks have also been covering the major part of your horizontal menu of your previous version (which was blocking the mouse clicks in IE7).

You can find either select all (Ctrl + A) on the master page or clicking and dragging to the top about halfway down the page. Removing these empty picture frames solves the problem.

    Hi goodmema13,

    (1) did you check with other applications if printing is displayed as expected?

    (2) how exactly you want to print?

Problem could be linked to the layout and settings; You can follow the steps mentioned below:

    (a) open your Email in a new window

    (b) if the images are cut off the coast, click on "File-> Print Preview", and in the toolbar, set "scale:" to "Shrink to fit", if a different setting is displayed.

    (c) if the part of the text is cut off, try setting "scale:" 100% in print preview mode.

    (d) in addition, make sure that it is set to the right paper size.

  • Internet Explorer will not play sound with no explanation that I can find. Help

    I am running Windows 7 with I think it's Internet Explorer 8.

I had my IE under Mixer volume muted during last week and discovered he won't play no sound now when I disabled the program. For all purposes, the volume mixer shows that it play a sound. All my other programs play sound, system sounds are correct, just like the games.

After reviewing the responses to other messages here, that's what I tried without success.

Volume mixer IE is not set to mute, nor is another program.

Checked under the tools/advanced/multimedia, and ensured that the audio check box was selected: it is.

I run cmd.exe under administrator rights and put in the sfc/scannow

This can 100% complete and it 'not found any breach of integrity.

I tried to run IE with no Add-ons - however, I could not find a program that would make it sound.

My antivirus has completed a quick scan with no self-esteem.

I'm still running my antivirus as a full sweep, however, I'm hesitant... to wait until it yeilds it is result.

    Help?

    Hello

    Method 1:

Maybe you don't have the right plugins/addons installed to play sounds. Need of plugins for interactive media include generally:

    (a) Adobe Flash.

    b)      Java.

To install these plugins, open Internet Explorer and visit the links above. Follow the instructions on the pages listed. After installing these plugins and restart Internet Explorer and check to see if you hear the sound?

    Method 2:

I suggest you update the audio drivers on the manufacturer's Web site see the link below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/automatically-get-recommended-drivers-and-updates-for-your-hardware

Method 3: Also suggest that you click on the link below to reset Internet Explorer settings and check if the problem still persists. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/923737

Warning: resetting the Internet Explorer settings is not reversible. After a reset, all previous settings are lost and cannot be recovered.

    Hope this helps,

  • problems with internet explorer 8?

every time I have installed IE 8, it seems that my internet no longer works I have no idea why, so I continue to ignore the update for it.

    Hi Redfeather01,

ؠ are you trying to install it as an update or by downloading manually?

    Try the following steps.

    Step 1

Open programs and features and see if you find an internet Explorer 8 listed there. If you find the internet Explorer 8 mentioned then you will need to uninstall and then try to install it. You can right click on the application to uninstall.

Start > Control Panel > programs and features >

    Step 2

If you try to install internet explore as an update, try to reset the windows update components and give it a try. Open the link below and click it on the fix button.

To verify my identity, my financial website send me a code to enter when I try to log in the site. This happens with a new computer or if I change browsers.
