Links JavaScript to the attachment in PDF from Word (or another Solution / Workflow)

Hi all,

After that hours of searching for a possible solution without getting even an approach I'm a little frustrated, so thanks for any help

(Sorry for any spelling, I'm German ^^)

My goal:

A large (about 180 pages) PDF with approximately 60 documents (pdf, word, excel) in this PDF.

Now, I want to have links in the text of the main PDF file that connects these attachments.

I did it with Adobe Acrobat, PDF with normal links and Word/Excel using JavaScript Code (exportDataObject).

My problem:

The main PDF isn't static for all time, it happens.

How can I avoid manually creating all the links after export of the Word Document in PDF format.

Additional information for solutions:

Modification of the PDF in Acrobat is AFAIK is not an option, because the layout as a header or page numbers the will / can not be changed with that.

Hyperlinks are possible to do in Word a PDF file will take them along.

It would also be possible with links to attachments?

I don't necessarily have to to a specific show if you have any other solutions or options.

I am grateful for all the help.

You cannot create objects in JavaScript-event link in an external application, they must be created manually in Acrobat.

I just bought the Pack of PDF from Adobe and was in Italian, but I want it in English. How can this be reset?

    Hi Rudy,.

You can change the language used for the interface of Acrobat.com in your profile. Login to https://cloud.acrobat.com with your Adobe ID and password. Then, click on your name in the upper right and choose personal data (information) in the context menu. Choose English in the menu drop down language (Language), and you should be all set.

Convert to PDF from word, the fonts are not included, the word doc record embedded fonts, but conversion does not incorporate fonts?  What should I do to get the embedded fonts?

I used times new roman in word 2013.  New file.  Apparently the version of adobe that I use will not incorporate.  I use the version line.  I was told that I have to upgrade to Adobe Pro.  I'm dealing with a patent application, so I can't share the document.  The patent office cannot accept that documents with embedded fonts.  My drawings that have been scanned and then converted are a problem too because I get an error based on the size of the page (23.6 "x 32.4") and I am unable to reduce this size in files from Adobe.com.

Unfortunately I signed up for this product that get these two converted documents and uploaded only to discover that the conversions will not download.

I tried exporting a PDF score in word format, but it seems incomplete. Is there any way to export the music score PDF to word correctly?

Very, very unlikely, unless you export each page in the form of a simple graph, slats, words and everything. You ask too much, especially given that Word is not a music creation application.

  • How can I change the file version for PDF files scanned 1.4 when you use the Acrobat XI "PDF from Scanner' feature? By default, it is always saved as 1.5.

Because our COMPUTER system can only handle PDFs with versions up to 1.4, we function 'PDF from scanner' to store the PDF files scanned in version 1.4.

Acrobat 9 always recorded in 1.4, but from Acrobat X, PDF files are saved in 1.5.

Must be a configuration or a setting somewhere where I can change this.

I already tried to change the standard the Distiller joboptions, but it does not work.

    Thanks for any help

There are ways to automate optimization PDF using Actions.

Without doubt, the problem of trying to mix new software (well, not old, not sure why you migrate to Acrobat X when it's already obsolete), with very old software indeed. PDF 1.6 was published 11 years ago. I realize, this may not help, but it may explain why there isn't an option for you.

  • Is it possible to keep the custom metatags when you create PDF from Word 2007 files?

Does anyone know a way to have custom metadata attached to a Word 2007 document to be completed in the course of an Adobe PDF file? The "Save as PDF or XPS ' in Word 2007 command clears all custom metatags that you have attached to the Word doc as PDF file has metadata cleaned up when you open it in Acrobat X.

However, in Word 2010, you can incorporate the MetaTags in the doc properties, create the PDF file using the Save as PDF, and the metatags are stored in the PDF file. So far, I have not found a way to do the same thing in Word 2007. (I know it is possible to add the metatags in Acrobat after the creation of the PDF file, but we are looking for a way to provide a Microsoft Word template that has the MetaTags already integrated, so colleagues by using Word 2007 can create PDFs that include our metadata.)

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Using check-in PDF or XPS does not use Adobe technology. You must use the Acrobat Ribbon to create PDFs using Acrobat technology (or print to Acrobat that does save all metadata).

  • Italics in creating a PDF from Word

I have a client that uses a specialized police.  This is a license (including italic, bold and bold italic) and in the directory.

Using Microsoft Word 2010 on Windows 7, the function "Create a PDF file" changes all instances of the police in slanted/sloped Roman Italic; bold and bold italic function as expected.  It seems to be unique to the function of Word: I can open the files in OpenOffice, use its PDF Creator, and italics out (even if other things on the file are problematic). The problem occurs with several parameters to create a PDF file, including Standard, print and press.  Coating (or desincorporation) forcing the police doesn't seem to work.  Suggestions elsewhere on the forum for similar problems, I tried to copy or link the font files in the folder of files shared/fonts from Adobe; that did not help, either.  I reinstalled the police a couple of times, and the problem persists.

I don't really know what I'm doing and it's quite possible that there is a very easy solution here; any help would be appreciated!

In case someone ever crosses this problem (another symptom: If in the editing of text in Adobe, you deitalicize and reitalicize the text tilted artificially, it gets replaced by the true italics, so that the computer knows clearly the existence of italic), I discovered that he strives to do not use functions "Create a PDF file" or "Save as Adobe PDF" in Word , but rather use generic "Save as", then choose PDF as the file type.  It uses underlying italics, without the artificial obliques.
