• Linking to other projects of Cp, with Cp 5.5

  Hello

  I have problems that connects it to other Cp 5.5 projects.  I set up as I used to when I used 3 Cp, but the next project does not open.  I have cked beyond discussions and I saw one, "linking the projects; export message"replied TrevDev (Trevor) which seemed to fix my problem.  I double cked I had everything in place under the guidance of Trevor (see below), but still my next project will not open.  Any other suggestions?

  (1) cptx & htm have the same name

  (2) all the files are in the same folder

  (3) on the first draft, I used "out: open another project ' and travelled to the cptx file open window active.

  I just saved, published and run version htm of the first project, which is to open the next project on the last slide.  The first file ends just on his last slide without doing something more.

• Adding hyperlinks to other projects (fusion)

  I'm running into a problem with the addition of links to other projects.  I have several projects I have merged into a Master project.  I generated all the projects of the child in their corresponding merged project files in the main file.  All I'm doing is a link to another project.  So I have a hyperlink to 'Child B project' in 'A project of the child '. I'm linking to a 'folder' that is the project B HTML file in the Master project (merged case).  When I do that, I get a message in A project which:

  "This action will create an external link to the help system.  The link does not work when the help system is shifted to other systems. Create link anyway? »

  So I create the link and build the project, but when I generate the Master project, the link does not work. How can I fix it?  The links I have to pages in a project work very well, but not when connected to the outside even if all related projects have been merged within the master project.

  The message is normal BTW.

  As long as your structure is that I have set out, the links will work in the output.

• Suddenly cannot link to topics in other projects of the child

  I use RoboHelp 10 HTML to publish WebHelp on a network server.

  I have 11 projects merged with about 3100 topics.

  After several years of using this method, all of a sudden, I am unable to link to topics within other projects were merged under the same parent. I can create external links outside merged as usual assistance. In this case whatever the project that I'm trying.

  When I use the Hyperlink dialog box, select the link to: 'File', then navigate to the desired topic. I click on the 'Open' button to return to the Hyperlink dialog box. When I click on the 'OK' button, nothing happens, except a color change indicating I am in contact with the key.

  I've searched the forums and none of the scenarios/solutions seem to match my dilemma. I have reinstalled RoboHelp on my PC.  I tried to delete the old file of DPC. None have resulted in a solution.

  Sorry, but I don't really know what could cause this. I've never seen it mentioned before or met.

  There has been NO change to my other computer from so NY to AZ I have an internal but also external hard drive and I have so many files that I don't have the disks more and I don't want to lose them.  Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

  What version of Windows Media Player do you use?

  If you use Windows Media Player 11, you can follow the steps in this link & check if the problem persists.

• Help! My original disk offline files are copied in my reader users when I log on their machine!

  I have users who use the offline files feature so that they can work on files of network when the network.  After using my credential and working on a user's computer yesterday, copies of my files from home drive now appears in the user drive home.  Of course, this is not acceptable.  It could reveal sensitive or confidential information to the wrong person.

  Can someone tell me how this can happen?  The offline files cache should not be shared between different users of the same machine, right?  I connect in machines of so many people while ensuring support and cannot have copied my personal files in the home directories of others.  FYI, remap us the My Documents shortcut to the user's home or the H: drive.

  What can I do to prevent that from happening again?

  The offline files cache should not be shared between different users of the same machine, right? Yes, as long as it is configured correctly, you can check the steps mentioned in the link below

  3. What is the file format of the file you are trying to extract?

  Step 1:
  You can run the Windows Media Player Library convenience store & check if you are able to rip CDs.

  I currently use off record quite a lot and have no problem as long as sharing network, on which records are is in the same place, I'm and network connectivity is several GB. When I choose a folder on a \\partagereseau hosted in another place, with less bandwidth and latency, the following events occur: 1) I mark a folder on the network share as 'always available offline' Sync 2) begins, and the entire folder disappears from the browser view only the folder synchronized with success is still visible. After Reboot: P1) when I'm offline only the folder snchronized is visible under the drive letter, nothing else (another where sync worked folder is not available offline are grayed out, have an 'X' on them, and are not accessible) P2) when I'm online I can see the folder structure one level below the drive letter , but all files offline. When I try to go to one, I get a message: "this file is currentry not available on this computer." There is no other way to access the network broken still share more: offline files) 1 turn off completely 2) reformatting of CSC (instructions how to add the key Reg necessary are in this forum) which means I have to then re - sync all folders that are functioning normally.

• How can I import a composition to another project, in a way that it will remain always updated if it has changed in the other project?

  I have a model of logo in a project that I have to add to all the other compositions all over my other projects.

  The thing is, I've might need to change the logo from time to time and wouldn't go back and change the layout of the logo in each project.

  I need a way to import the model of the logo and to maintain its link with the original project, so I could only make a change once and then just make all other projects while the intro comp update automatically.

  Can you please help?

  Rick instructions assumes that you use a video file pre-rendered logo, which is the most convenient way to do the job, if you can.

  But, to answer your question more specifically, you can create a dynamic link to an another project AE AE project.

• How can I remove table of contents/index/search components that remain when I link to another project?

  When I link to my html main project file A and then click a link to return to the main html table component file contents/index/search remains on the screen. How can I remove it?

  I work with RH8 and Windows 7. I generate Webhelp.

  I have a file that has links to projects and B main html. Each project is in a separate folder. The projects are not merged.

  I can link the files generated or published very well. However, when I start moving around in the files/projects, the components of the table of contents/index/search are still visible.

  For example, if I click on the link on the main html file for project A it appears correctly. If I click on a link to return to the main html file pane table of contents/index/search remains visible for A project. If the link to go to project B Iclick, I get another part of the table of contents/index/search and have 2 panels visible.

  How can I make windows disappear and do not stay on the screen when I move a project to?

  I'm not sure you can. It's like any link on any Web site, if the link opens another browser instance or tab, it is up to the user to close.

  Merged help would just open the other topic and keep the user in the same tab. When they click on the links to various projects, the first topic closed and the following would open up.

• FilePath to "open the other projects.

  I have a button that has "Open other Project", which opens the 2nd project very well for me.  But Captivate 4 lists the full path of the file and won't let me not specify filename only.  The two projects are in the same place, but listing means full filepath that nobody else can open the 2nd project.

  I heard that Captivate 4 lets not use relative paths to 'open another project' for some reason any.

  Have you tried to publish .swf and link using 'open a URL or file?

  This is how to create a link to the top of all my projects, but I am still using Captivate 3.

  Try the following steps:
  (1) change your Action to "open a URL or file.
  (2) key in the relative URL of the movie you are trying to bind. If it is in the same directory, simply enter the name of the .swf file you are trying to load.
  (3) publish and test.

  Let us know if it works for you.

• Portege R500 with XP: server offline files do not work

  I have a strange problem with a brand new R500 with XP installed. Offline files does not work: I can copy files to the bottom of servers, but when I try to backup, I get an error

  "(XXX YYY) offline files: ZZZ is denied on ZZZ."

  where XXX is a samba share or a normal windows share. I have all the permissions to access these files and can change them if I go online without synchronizing offline changes.

  I would like to ask this on the XP Group, but I have + never seen this on any other cell phones I've used (including the Toshiba). These servers offline files still works for me on a laptop more old (XP to date), by using the same account and the same details using the roaming profile. Its also not related to any of the standard Offline files of the problems that have appeared on the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

  We can test - this issue seems to be specific to this laptop, and if I can't use offline files, the machine is practically useless for me (modulo paying and then assigning an equivalent piece of software).

  Should I try to uninstall TrueSuite for example?

  my workspace contains many projects, so several executable files, but only one appears in the [start] menu after installation.

  In the [Edit Installer] [files], I added different executables in the [Program Files] [MyAppName], and indeed, they are installed.

  But the [Start > programs] [MyAppName] is empty. I can't see how there is not even one app? And how tdo Add shortcut to other executables? Do [Add File] seems to copy the full executable here.

  It is not clear how this thing works.

  Sorry, it wasn't quite what I asked, but I found the solution: it's simply in the tab "shortcuts". I just need to create one for every app I have copy.
