  IE8 has nothing to do with your problem. Close OE and delete the message store Folders.dbx and see if that fixes it.

  Location of the base of messages

  The path to the message will be very similar to this:

  C:\Documents and Settings\Your User of utilisateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\ {long string of letters & numbers} \Microsoft\Outlook Express

  In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

  Find and Remove Folders.dbx. A new Folders.dbx file will be created when you open OE. Restart first.

  Note these possible side effects:

  When you re - start OE, it will build a new index of all *.dbx files it can read and create a new Folders.dbx. Please understand that you will lose the mail directory structure, all the discussion lists and all synchronization options and message rules will probably have to be edited.

  If nothing happens when you click on a link:
  Open Windows Explorer or on the control panel.
  Go to tools | Folder options | Types of files.
  Scroll to [NONE] URL: HyperText Transfer Protocol (NOT the shortcut URL: Internet) and select it.
  Click Edit or advanced, depending on your version of Windows.
  Choose 'open '.
  Click on change.

  "Application used to perform action" should read:

  "C:\PROGRAM may EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" - nohome (check the path to)
  Iexplore.exe to ensure that it is correct and use the double quotes).

  DDE should be checked and in the boxes below, you should have:

  #1:
  « %1 »,,-1,0,,,
  #2
  IExplore
  #3 (white)

  #4
  WWW_OpenURL

  Protocol URL: HyperText Transfer with Privacy should be the same.

  If the foregoing is correct, uncheck the box: use DDE.

• cannot log on to outlook with firefox

  I use Firefox 24.0, go to the page of connection of outlook type my username and password, but it dooesnt open on my outlook account, it comes up with the error.
  "Firefox can't find the server at sn135w.snt135.mail.live.com.
  I can connect to my emails on my phone and on another pc using forefox.
  I tried to reset firefox to default settings, but made no difference.
  I hope someone can help,

  Outlook uses a large number of areas for the load balancing, so if you would be to bookmark the page with your Inbox that open after having signed, then this can not work properly.

  I have reistalled my XP Home of authentic CDs and subsequently I was only able to download Windows updates. However, after I received your response referring to download related problem with IE8, MSE Live Essentials. Well, I downloaded MSE, but it cannot download the updates because it fails to update due to internet connection failure. I also downloaded Windows defender, but it says "the program cannot check the updates of definitions. It has an error code 0 x 80004002. Even after trobleshooting with 'Fix' and 'fix the problem with Microsoft Windows Update' he says it doesn't, 'window could not help solve the problem. Finally, I'm not yet able to download Windows updates. I get the following message, "the website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view.   Access your Windows Live e-mail. in the left click of Contacts, click Add people, and then you will see the link to Outlook.

  Or on your Windows Live page in the upper right, click on Options, more Options. Under the personalization of your Contacts click on import of Contacts going to the same place as above.

  Under manage your account, you will see: send/receive emails from other accounts that you might want to use because you have two.

  The more you could go crazy checking all other options, I did it!

  The question < bit much > says it all - there are several financial web sites that provide the account chart activity. With IE8, I could copy the mires and paste them into Excel with each "category" mentioned in individual cells (text and digital). This allows for monitoring and handling and, at least in some cases, was better than the "Download" function provided. When I try it with Firefox, all data is pasted into a single cell (reminds me of a delimited file importing - if digital indicators / text or cells separators are not identified correctly Excel will import all the data into a single cell).

  First of all, you know that's not Toshiba software but application of AuthenTec and I m sure that the manufacturer of this software knows this problem.
