Linksys EA2700 VS. RV180-K9-NA

have a few last questions these routers EA2700 and 1 RV180-K9-NA. can it manage TWC ultimate speed 2. It's a very good reliable router, linksys be4 tried and some were not 3. can we manage several devices at the same time without slowing down? BTW, I know he need a wifi sepret for the RV180 thing which is the better faster more reliable choice?

According to the scenario if you're more concerned at wire speed, there will no problem. Since the two router have Gigabit Ethernet Ports.

The fundamental difference between the two routers is: EA2700 supports the features dual band wireless where RV180-K9-NA is used for VPN connectivity, but do not have the wireless function.

  • Access to some routers to bridge mode

    Hello

I set up a wireless network in my house in the following format.

I have 3 routers Linksys EA2700. One is configured as ISP and DHCP and others are configured in bridge mode, so they can play the role of access points.

Also, I created 3 separate networks with different SSID.

Right now I have a stable internet connection on all 3, but would like to have access to them.

If I try to access it by typing the IP address (for example the second router IP address is 192.168.1.102) he directs me to the first linksys router. If I use the routers password it still does not.

    Thank you in advance.

Hi dkey89, I agree with chadster you can set the password even with each other. Either way, what is the IP address of the main router?

  • PC can connect to the printer, but Mac cannot even with updated drivers.

We have an HP Photosmart Premium C309g, which is connected to a Cisco Linksys EA2700 wireless router. The printer connects easily to the PC with windows 7. However on macs with Lion, the printer will be displayed when you type the IP address in the browser. However when you try to load the printer it does not appear. If you use the IP address to load it does not connect to the printer. He used to work. The only changes are a new PC and a new wireless router. I tried to update the drivers and software on the Mac. It did not help. Still the same problem.

    Hello

Unlike Windows, peripheral Apple uses Hello (which is based on the multicast) to connect with the HP device over the wireless network.

As far as I'm aware routers Linksys not configured for multicast by its default value.

Try the following and check to see if that can help you:

    1. Enter the router from your browser homepage.
    2. Enter in the Security tab,
    3. Check filter multicast.
    4. CLCK save changes.
    5. Reboot the router and check any change.

  • HP2100 / series # USGH084157: hp2100

Recently, we have moved our router Linksys EA2700 to Time Warner Arris TG862 modem/router. Are old HP2100 has been and is still now connected to their router. We can print is no longer at our printer now with this new router. Time Warner said to contact HP and to manually configure / assign a new IP address. We called HP and they said that they do not support this printer. We have to go online and do it. We have no idea how to do this or even where to start. Can someone help us so that we can continue to use this printer? Thank you!!!

Good news! I went on HP website down the driver for a HP 2100. He wanted to upload a different driver: HP Universal printing PCL 5. I already had on my computer, but I left it download a copy. So now I had (2) versions of this driver (Moose and copy) as well a driver appears under "printers and faxes" noticed "Hewlett Packard LaserJet2100. This and the "copy" wouldn't let me following your instructions to change the IP address. I went to universal to original HP printer PCL 5 driver on my machine, and it let me change the IP address. Now it prints. The pilot noted that the 2100 on my computer must be false, or is no longer supported so maybe that HP has the universal driver cover these older printers? I don't know, but it never occurred to me to check the universal driver instead. I didn't even know why he was on the computer. It seems odd that the universal driver working? My problem is solved, so I want to sincerely and honestly thank you for all your help on and off this whole day! It's great that people take the time to help people computer-challenged tackle our problems. Thanks again.

  • HP Pavilion g6-1b53ca with wifi Ralink RT5390 will not run on 802.11n

Hello.  Does anyone have any advice for the following?

I have a laptop Pavilion g6 with a b/g/n wifi Ralink RT5390 card.  It works very well with my Linksys WRT54G and GS DD - WRT routers.  I recently got a new Linksys EA2700 with v1.0 of the Linksys firmware.

The laptop again works very well with the Linksys EA2700 as long as it's WPA2 with mixed mode at 2.4 Ghz.  It shows connected to 54Mbps... which is g mode.

Any ideas on why he used to connect fashion n greater speed?  It is only 5 meters and shows an excellent signal strength.  When I change the EA2700 from mixed mode to mode N... The HP error message just says... impossible to connect... the diagsnostics can't find anything.  I have a Samsung wifi phone and there is no connection problems in n to the same router EA2700 mode.

The laptop shows the RALINK RT5390 as with the 3.2.13.0 version in Add/Remove Programs section.  The shows 5.0.9.0 device driver date device driver dated 27/11/2012

Thanks a lot if anyone can make comments.

    Edward

    Hi, Edward:

Please see if updating the driver to the latest version of help.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-127448-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&OS=4063&product=6521374&sw_lang=

Then go to the Advanced tab for the device in Device Manager and check if there is a bgn mode to select.

It is possible that the pilot, that you have only has an auto or b/g mode.

You can also check first before updating the driver.

You should get 65 to 72 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band.

The card can receive and transmit on the 5.0 GHz band.

  • Linksys X 3000 not able to bridge mode?

I have a router in wifi linksys X 3000 for over a year and I decided a few days ago to fill my ISP modem-router with this X 3000 to use as simple access point.

This post is mainly to make clearly evident that the X 3000 wifi router cannot run in bridged mode, it?

    I ask just a yes/no answer.

I think that the answer is "", but not totally sure that since I was surprised to see that all the messages on the lists seem to converge and finally to see the page

    http://www.Linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=143751

saying that configure the router in Bridge mode requires:

    | A Smart Wireless Linksys router with ability to bridge (EA2700, EA3500, E4200v2, EA4500) Mode

makes me think of any other model supports fill them.

For awhile, I've been duped by the help offered the basic network configuration page

    http://192.168.1.1/help/Basic_Setup.asp

which explains the choice of bridge, which are not actually in the dropdown for "Type of Internet connection.

After I discovered that the porgram Cisco Configuration has not been worn after 10.8 MacOsX, I am certainly considering buy products from other companies.

It's logical. You need cascading 'LAN to LAN' in the link below (sorry it's a copy and paste of one of my old posts):

In waterfall or connect a Linksys router to another router

Things to keep in mind when cascading a second router:

    1. Change the IP address of the secondary router to something like 192.168.1.254 so its on the same network, but is not in conflict with the main router
    2. Make sure that the DHCP service is disabled on the secondary router
    3. Make sure that nothing is ever connected to the Internet port on the secondary router
  • How to configure EA2700 on a network E3200

I have a home network E3200. I need to configure an EA2700. I just want to assure you that I do the right thing I am corrupts the whole existing upward. I use a cable modem.

The manual SIAS EA2700 connect the WAN EA2700 port to the modem cable and run the utility SMART of WIFI. But my E3200 exisitn is already ocnnected to the modem.

I connect the EA2700 to my existing E3200 network. But he isn't default IP 192.168.1.1. to display the my E3200 config page and not the EA2700.

What is the right way to do it.

In fact, I want to connect the EA2700 mode bridge to extend my existing E3200 network. The documentation I read used connection between 2 wired routers (i.e. E3200 as my main router and EA2700 as the Expander). Can EA2700 without wire connected to E3200 (i.e. a wireless bridge)?

Hi, 3200_user. Implementation of the EA2700 as a wireless Repeater or a wireless extension is not possible. If you were to cascade (term used when connecting a router to another router) 2 routers, you would have to connect using an Ethernet cable.

  • EA2700 losing synchronization

Hello, I have a network set in place with an EA2700 and the system works very well. The only problem I have is that my wireless adapter constantly loses synch and getting kicked off the power when using wireless "N" only. At the beginning I was the wireless card, I bought so I have started to use Wireless 'G' and had no problem at all. Since I bought a new laptop with wireless "n" built in and I'm having the same problem again. If I reset the wireless adapter, I have now but I keep dropping. Can you tell me why.

I used Windows 7 before and I am now using Windows 8.1. Unfortunately I do not have the possibility to use Wireless 'G' on this computer.

Hi Desi501 . Try to change the channel on your wireless page settings and see how it goes.  To do this correctly, please visit this link

  • 2700 Linksys

    Hello

I had no problem with my router up to 2 days when we had a T storm.  Now, it's showing 2 active networks and I can't get the router to connect to the internet.  I have a cable modem and have tried the unplug and wait technique but also to restart my computer.  I have not tried to uninstall and reinstall the software of the router again.  That's my next step.  Internet works very well with the unplugged router.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

The EA2700 is a dual router broadband Wireless N. It broadcasts 2 networks at the same time, the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz. The router also has a function of access as a guest. Overall, the router has 3 wireless networks. You may have disabled guest access and had 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz named the same networks giving you the impression that it there was only one network.

As suggested previously, you must reset and reconfigure your router. If you do not use the Linksys Wifi Smart software yet, you can get the Page in Support of EA2700upgrade utility. Access the software Cisco Connect will also invite that it is in an available update. Check out the articles below to help restore you and reconfigure your router.

Reset your Linksys router to factory default settings

I can't login is no longer in my EA2700 settings since I upgraded to IE11.  He told me that the browser is not supported.  I was able to connect from another computer to see if there is a firmware update, but found nothing.

Does anyone have an idea if there will be an update of the firmware?  I suspect that this problem will continue to worsen with other browsers, once they get the updates.

  • How to increase strength signal wifi on ea2700

I have a problem, got my router fi wi ea2700 in the House it works fine no problems at all. I ran a cat 6 of my ea2700 of my metal 30' x 30' (approximately 85 ft) construction and don't have internet access on the South side of the building for laptop on the desk, still very well no problem. now the problem, my wifi in the metal building signal is low (for mobile phone wifi), and I need my cat 6 on the north side.  I have some wanted something that I could plug it into my cat 6 that would give me a lot of wifi and at least 2 ports for cable cat (1 for laptop on the bench and 1 for the Office on northside. thought to a long-range unifi but no port so no thought to Linksys RE6500HG AC1200 Dual-Band Wireless Range Extender but it must have the right signal to begin with. I could plug my cat6 in a splitter 5) port then run 1 line of unifi long range (I would be close in this building 30 ' x 30' to use this) it would be exaggeration to ginormous. run right 1 down to my laptop and 1 line of northside for desktop computer. or am I way off track is there a cheaper easier better way maybe just an another linksys wifi ea 2700 with her would have ports but can I run online them like this they would be compatible in this config. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

As long as the strings are different between the main building and the remote access point, you will be fine. Put the wifi from the main house to channel 11 and channel 1 wireless remote. You can use the same SSID and PWs name on two wireless access points.

  • EA2700 disable SSID broadcast

I am the latest firmware of the EA2700, but why I can not find it is turn off the broadcast SSID function?

In the broadcast SSID router configuration is no longer an option in Linksys Smart Wi - Fi routers. Because there are different software for wifi analyzers, network whose SSID are hidden, yet be detected and seen by these software.

Learn more why linksys decided to remove this option, please see this link:

I just bought the EA2700 and get a message when you connect to Internet Explore 11.0.2 using Windows 7.

Yes problem known for months.  Use IE10 or firefox.

  • N600 ea2700 cannot access internal Web sites

    I have a new router, n600 ea2700, replace a wrt54g2 for this.

I have an internal Web server configuration, with port 80 redirection http to my iis7 Web with a server static ip address

I can access my areas outside my internal network (IE my cell phone), but when I type in www.mydomain(s).com (one of them) in my browser on a wired computer or internal wireless I get "cannot display this page".

I can ping the www.my... and get an answer to my router static ip (internet provider)

I can type in my static ip of the Web server and get my splash screen for iis7

I of the wrong with linksys phone and they could not understand, basically saying take the router at staples and get a different model.

I think I'll ask here before I do it.  I would add that if I put the old wrt back I can't access no problem.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Sorry I misunderstood your OP.

This is called "NAT Loopback" and is not available on the Smart Wifi routers.

Honestly the firmware of the Wifi chip is not designed for custom networks from servers or DNS requirements.

  • EA2700 Smart WiFi unable to connect

I can't connect my router via the Smart of Wifi utility EA2700.

As soon as I put on the router, I used the CD it came with and attempted to implement. While I was in the range of the router and I can see it in my list wireless, I couldn't set it up.

I came the usefulness and using the prompt of windows 7 I was able to change the SSID and I got a generic password.

I was able to connect my laptop to the router with the password and access the internet.

When went to set it up via the Smart Wifi utility using the same password I can't access it. My laptop is connected, but I can't access the router in the utillity.

Directly, I have connected my laptop to the router with a cable right cat5 from the Ethernet port of my laptop to the port on the Router #1 and tried the utillity smart wifi. Still I can not connect.

I tried to use that the IP 192.168.1.1 in the browser can still connect.

I tried to use the CCC Web site still nothing.

Prompt repeat me the invalid password, you mind right now I already have logged 3 more devices with the generic password.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Have your tried using "admin" instead? You have not exactly set up the router using the Cisco Connect Setup Wizard, so the router password is not the same as the password of your wireless network. Login to http://192.168.1.1 or http://myrouter.local and use "admin" password. If you have upgraded the firmware on the router during installation, you can also go to http://linksyssmartwifi.com. Here, you can access the page locally (use 'admin' password again) or create a Linksys Wifi Smart account for cloud-base access.
