• Cannot change the value of mousewheel scroll

  After you have reinstalled windows and all I had on my old desktop, I seem to be unable to change my amount of scrolling the mouse on firefox. I looked through all the troubleshooting questions that have already been posted, and all users have responded that I had to access about: config and change the value of mousewheel.withnokey.numlines.

  I have a Microsoft wireless Intellimouse explore 2.0 and have recently upgraded to windows 7 (which is awesome = P)

  What is not so impressive, however, is that scrolling doesn't work at all in some applications, mainly 2 games I've known personally (Dragon Age: Origins and Neverwinter Nights 2), although others have reported other applications that do not work properly.

  Scrolling basically to something approaching normal speed is not picked up at all these games. If I turn the scroll wheel very quickly, in those games he zooms the camera all the way / exit, as if they picked up warpspeed mousewheel scrolling. Nothing happens if I scroll at a reasonable speed. Other applications I've tried work properly with my mousewheel, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Explorer windows, Notepad, lots of others, etc.

  I have the latest version of the intellipoint software installed, I tried half of the list of the mouse in the intellipoint mouse settings to see if one of them would circumvent this problem. I tried to adjust the speed of scrolling. I tried to completely uninstall intellipoint and using the basic HID driver. I tried to install several drivers of microsoft mouse, even technically incompatible ones such as the USB intellimouse optical driver - it worked, but scrolling was fubared, although above warpspeed scrolling that's happened on the slightest movement of the scroll wheel to instead of having to do it turn very quickly - that in these problematic games if normal scrolling in applications was very good.

  I tried 2 different versions of intellipoint, 7.0.258.0, and 7.0.280.0, which were published on 08/05/2009 and 10/16/2009, respectively.

  In addition, this windows 7 install was clean, not an upgrade. My previous OS, vista 64, worked well with this mouse. My dual boot linux/Windows XP system works very well with him, even installed neverwinter nights 2 to ensure.

  I unfortunately approach the end of my mind here and would really like to not have to shell out money on a new mouse to solve what seems to be a software problem, when it has me well served for nearly 7 years = P

  The workaround solution suggested, to change device connected to a device not tiltwheel, kind of work. Unfortunately, the sensitivity of scrolling in my affected applications are extremely high, if I do this - instead of having to turn the wheel like a madman, a shake back and forth sends the device flying completely inside or outside. Whatever it is, it sucks.

  Since the mouse works well with applications other than these two games, so it might be a compatibility issue with the game.

  You can check with the Publisher of the games on this issue and see if there are any availbale patches for the game.
  You can also check the seetings mosue and keyboard of these games.

• How can I disable scrolling "deceleration" that occurs when you reach the bottom (or top) of a page?

  In previous versions of Firefox mousewheel scrolling pages upwards or downwards at a constant rate.

  This behavior has been changed causing the scrolling speed to slow down as the end or the beginning of a page is reached. This introduces additional delay when you navigate web pages quickly.

  Hello, you can easily disable scrolling smoothly in firefox/tools > options > advanced > general.

  I suggest you to disconnect and reconnect the mouse and check if that helps.

  Method2:

  You can contact or visit the manufacture's website and download the latest drivers for the mouse, install it and check if that helps.

  On the question,

  I have a simple application with a news section where I use the list to display the news. Each press is displayed in an ItemRenderer. The rendering looks like this:

  In the label, I put the date, in the 1st text I put in title, and in the 2nd, I put the content.

  Virtualization is disabled, the news are adjustable in height as you probably thought that some of the images.

  So the problem is not new I guess, but I couldn't find a solution in the web, so I ask here again:

  When I use my mouseWheel on the list, it climbs all the way to the next new (ItemRenderer). Is not that a user expects. I have the wheel to scroll 30px e.g. mouseWheel scrolling.

  The question is: How can I do this? Should be simple, but it is not, can not believe...

  The news are populated dynamics of xml data, this is why I used the List component. If there is a better way to resolve things where works made scrolling me know.

  Also, I was wondering if anyone knows if in Flex Hero, it would be easier to do? I need still a solution for now though.

• Flex 4 wheel mouse scrolling speed?

  Is there a simple way to define a constant speed or should I say predefined step during which the mousewheel scroll vertical scrolling? For example when I programmed my scrollers in flash I did a formula that worked this way:

  (1) I want to move the drop down content area with 40px by scrolling the mouse wheel

  2) calculated the height of the visible content area and 40px % which I then use to calculate how much the thumb wheel to pass on the track

  (3) also a code to reach the top and the bottom of the track of the total/scroller content area.

  Here the scroll has a speed of calulating auto but when I put changers to my main application (you know.. browser like scrolls) they seem to scroll very slow. So now I search a property or something to change it somehow to be faster, but could not find anything. Maybe I need to do scrolling custom, but I thought that it would be stupid to not have the scrolling by default... so I ask here.

  Another question everyone knows, Flex 4 brings the wheel of the mouse to the Mac? or scrolling still doesn't work here without a workaround and custom code solution?

  I am currently working on a Flex project where the main of the application can load Flash .swf files or Flex .swf files. Some of these swf files have content (text, movieclips, etc.) that scroll with the scroll bars. That's fine when the .swf file is based Flex, but when the Flash .swf is based event triggers mousewheel scroll bar of the main application and the .swf scrollbar at the same time. Is there a way to disable the event mousewheel on the scroll bar of the main application (or any Flex container)?

• Linux Firefox 38 Scroll Bars change (for worse) behavior

  With the update for Firefox 38, the scroll bars are are suddenly bad. The correct behavior for Linux scroll bars when you click on above view indicator (the part that you can move) is to move to the top of the screen and when you click below view indicator is to move to the bottom of the screen. When you the Middle click in an invisible box, it moves you directly to this part. And you can enter the indicator and drag it anywhere.

  With 38, when you click above or below the indicator view, it now moves you directly to this part/area rather than move to the top or the bottom of the SCREEN. This is not another Linux applications - LibreOffice, claws, Pluma, Thunar, etc.. It is inconsistent and a mess of support. Worse, I searched on the preferences and about: config and I cannot find a way to put it back the way that it is supposed to work (as it did in Firefox 1 to 37 and even Netscape Navigator). What is going on?

  I understand that in the linux version of Firefox, there is a difference in the way that scrolling works in version 37 and 38.

  There are two places that control smooth scrolling:
  Subject: #advanced under 'Général' preferences there are scroll smoothly.

  There was another topic: config entry mentioned here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../981140

  However if there was a change in the update, please post if there is not always an improvement.

  Pressing the buton mousewheel (mousewheel down a.k.a mwheel down) is no longer you allows to scroll up and down on the page. She used to give a small circle with a up and down you can use the mouse to control the direction of the page, but this feature is broken or no longer exists.   I move from linux to windows many times. So I created a profile shared to firefox. now the only problem im trying all the time is I want to check auto-scrolling all the time when I get back into linux. so is it possible to make this setting activate all the time?
  p.s. im still confuse why people use middle click to paste when editing under linux... but that's another thing.

• How do horizontal scrolling via mousewheel tilt work in FF 20.0.0.1?

  EDIT: I solved this problem on my end. It turns out that my mouse manufacturer had a "helper" program that has been screwing the horizontal tilt support. Stop smoking it solved the problem. To other people having the same problem, I recommend that you check the utility of using your mouse.

  I give myself to understand that previous versions of Firefox support a horizontal scrolling when it is used with a scroll wheel mouse that supported messages of tilt. However, I was unable to make it work on Firefox 20.0.1. I tried to disable scrolling smoothly, hardware acceleration, restart in safe mode, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

  (The troubleshooting information below represent the usual configuration of my browser, disable all extensions).

  However, other applications seem to handle mousewheel tilts very well; I tried it with applications as simple as Notepad on Windows and they scroll horizontally in response to the inclinations of mousewheel. I'm puzzled; delete Mozilla tilt support in future versions of Firefox?

  When I use the mouse wheel to scroll I want vertical scrolling only. But it appears a circle icon and not scroll anywhere, or try to go on the side and skids in all directions.

  I would like to prevent the mousewheel to make a horizontal scrolling (and never see again this circle icon). Is this possible?

  p.s. I saw the page "Gecko: mouse scroll wheel - MozillaWiki" and although it is very complete, it is really written by/for developers, I want just a patch to input simple config... Please?
