  • Sending a big boost with the SDK high-level examples of results in a timeout

    Hello

I try to send a big boost with the sample of high level. I have registered my valuation Service Push Blackberry application, deployed the SDK in Tomcat on my computer, my app has added to the list of high level sample applications and tried to send a little help with a message in plain text during broadcast (to the Subscriber of "push_all").

This resulted in an IOException caused by a timeout: "taken IOException sending message to the address URL of PPG: https://cp3520.pushapi.eval.blackberry.com/mss/PD_pushRequest.

    I have a few test:

    1. I send a simple GET request in Forefox on https://cp3520.pushapi.eval.blackberry.com/mss/PD_pushRequest which resulted in 401, so I can reach this address.

2 I tried to reproduce the request with a Firefox plugin. Here are the contents of my application:

3 I tried the same query without the "multipart/related" header, and got this response:

Do you know what could prevent the response to be sent?

    Hello

    I finally solved the problem!

In fact when I tried to reproduce the request I made a mistake in the headers, I put two different instead of ' Content-Type: multipart/related; Boundary = QfgeRDy0bk3pYpCMeL8Q; type = application/xml '. I tried with the firefox plugin again and get the same response as Matt told me in his private message, when tested with my credentials:

For the serevr part I think it was because of a proxy problem, you said. I could not download the installer of linux SDK on the Blackberry site, I installed the Windows SDK on my Windows computer, and I think that Java options were not used by the server (which is strange because I put it in the Tomcat service Java options). I copied the folder of the SDK on my Linux computer, added the Java options in catalina.sh and everything worked well with the sample of high level. So I guess that the problem comes from my Java Windows Setup.

The tricky thing, I don't really understand is the timeout for the request with bad headers.

Now, I need to know why the app is not subscribed to the service push, but it is another problem.

    Thank you all!

    Clearly the Setup is broken.

So, my question is - is the installer deliberately broken (IE, no support for Debian) or is it a perl error code that needs fixing?

    Thank you

    Chris

As William, he will not be supported, but you can use the SDK Software VMware Perl quite easily on any platform of Perl (I did it with window as well).  I did specifically on Ubuntu and OS X over the years.

Install the requirements of the module as shown in "vSphere SDK Perl Source Code installation on Linux".  In the source package, copy the folder VMware vmware vsphere-cli-distrib/lib/VMware/sharing of archive download Perl Linux SDK to your path to Perl.

For required modules, you can use PPM, CPAN or apt get the packages.

I ran this way for years without any problem, but this obviously isn't an official support statement

You should be able to simply do not put a proxy during Setup.  It's there in case it is necessary to download the module dependencies.

  • Cascades SDK Beta 2 for Linux? Where is he?

For me, if the SDK isn't available, it's very bad news!

How can I have the beta 2 of stunts on Linux?

    Nicolas

They seem to have some internal confusion over the question of whether it is supported, there are works, should be available for download or other.

You can get it (for now) of this page https://developer.blackberry.com/native/beta/download/

The same file is in fact from the same place the Windows and Mac are on the https://developer.blackberry.com/cascades/download page, but they do not have a link on this page. It turns out that it is a file with the same name and the same content as the one on the native/beta page. Here's what I got with the MD5 hash:

  • vSphere SDK for Perl source package - linux

I'm looking to install vSphere SDK for Perl from source on my linux 64-bit system. The download, I work with is at http://downloads.vmware.com/d/details/vcli_perl4_64_os_s/ZHcqYmR0KnBidGR3. Is this correct? This package contains is .so and .pm, and I'm not sure what to do with them. The docs for vSphere SDK for Perl installation insinuate that there should be a Makefile.PL or somesuch. What I am doing wrong?

That link you provided is just the OSS components mobilized by the VI Perl SDK and the vCLI.  It is not a complete installation or the other.

You'll want to use the download link on the home page of this forum for Linux Perl SDK Setup.

Keep in mind, when you say install source, the VMware Perl SDK is just not compiled perl modules.  The rest of the Perl SDK package's dependencies (LibXML, Crypt::SSLeay, Class::MethodMaker, etc.).

You will find the Makefile.PL and some scripts installer in the bits of the package.

  • AdvancedDataGrid in Flex3 SDK on Linux?

    Hello

I play with the Flex 3 SDK on Linux and get the following compilation error:

Error: Could not resolve < mx:AdvancedDataGrid > to an implementation of the component.

I had this same problem in Flex Builder and discovered (by reading these forums) that I needed to upgrade the project to use instead of 2.0.1 moxie. However, is there a framework also when you use the SDK on Linux? I can't find any switch relevant compiler or something...?

    Thank you!

    Paul C.

    Hello

The AdvancedDataGrid will be part of the Flex Data Visualization package (formerly Flex Charting) that does not come with the free Flex SDK kit. ADG will therefore not part of the open source initiative, it's like the cards where once you have a license, you can view the source.

So for the use of the alternator WIND and other graphics on a standalone SDK, you can copy the SWCs from installation of Flex Builder so far.

  • Momentics IDE under Linux can't find the SDK

Hi, I installed Momentics IDE on my 12.04, 64-bit Ubuntu as root. After that, I run the IDE for the first time as a regular user. I invited myself to install the SDK, which I did. However when I started the IDE for the 2nd time, it still behaved as if no SDK has been installed (I got the prompt again and could not build due to missing QCC projects). So I run the IDE as root and installed the SDK again. But even after this, the IDE always behaves as if no SDK was present.

I found the sdkinstall executable in the/opt/bbndk directory, which says this:

    andrej@Thinkpad-T420:/opt/bbndk$ ./sdkinstall --list
    Location: http://downloads.blackberry.com/upr/developers/update/bbndk/install_descriptor.xml
    Available SDKs:
    10.0.9.2372 - BlackBerry Native SDK 10.0
    10.1.0.1020 - BlackBerry Native SDK 10.1
    10.2.0.339 - BlackBerry Native SDK 10.2 Beta 1
    10.2.0.1155 - BlackBerry Native SDK 10.2 (installed)

    How can I fix it?

The IDE is not intended to be installed as root. It creates a .rim folder in the home folder of the user who installed (/root/.rim). You can attemtp to solve this problem by entering your own folder of /root/.rim and by changing the property to your users (chmod).

  • With the help of Remote Shell of Linux to run on Windows Server 2008R2 .bat files

I use rsh to my Linux server to run Windows applications on a Windows 2003 server using .bat files remotely.  For example, from Linux:

  • CVI for linux and gtk +.

Is it possible that I can manipulate the settings of window user interface as titlebar visible (ATTR_TITLEBAR_VISIBLE) via GTK + or another Toolkit on Linux?  Basically I'm manipulating the Visual attributes of the user interface that are not compatible with Linux such as the visibility of the title bar, minimize and maximize buttons hidden, etc...

In windows, I used the windows SDK to create/manipulate the system tray icon menus.  There may be a similar approach under Linux?

    Thanks for reading,

    -pete

    Hi Pete,.

After a little more research, I found that it is possible to change these attributes, because CVI for Linux uses the X Window System. To do this, you would be able to get a reference to the X Window System attribute by using the function int GetPanelAttribute (int panelHandle, int panelAttribute, void * attributeValue) with ATTR_SYSTEM_WINDOW_HANDLE for the panelAttribute. From there, you can use X Window System functions to change the properties.

  • bbos7 WebWorks for linux

    Hello

I'm looking for the sdk for linux webworks. I found webworks for BB10, but I need to bbos7. you know nothing about it?

    Thank you

Unfortunately the SDK WebWorks for BBOS has no Linux support:
    https://developer.BlackBerry.com/BBOS/HTML5/download/requirements_smartphone_sdk/

  • Installation of the SDK Service push BB 1.1.0 - 16 fails

I try to install BB push Service SDK 1.1.0-1, but the installation program always stops at the initial screen after extraction.

Running Windows 7 on VMware Fusion

    Java JDK 6 is installed

Set JAVA_HOME and JAVA_HOME/bin is added to the path

The installation program creates a log file?

Are there other requirements beside the JDK 6?

I downloaded the SDK Service push once again and reinstalled the JDK 6.

I have already installed successfully the SDK on another virtual computer, but don't find any difference, why the installer does not work in this virtual machine.

You could give a shot setup of Linux on your Mac, but my guess is that it might not work.

A Mac-specific installer is coming in the near future by the way.

An alternative is to download the raw distribution files themselves from here:

    https://developer.BlackBerry.com/DevZone/develop/platform_services/push_overview.html

See the section "you can also download the API of high level and low level form of raw files archive".

You download the file to archive just Linux and download it to your Mac.

The main difference between the installer and using the files from archive directly, it is that the installation program offers the possibility to deploy high level samples we provide with Apache Tomcat.  (Tomcat is not part of the SDK is, incidentally.)  "It's just to show the samples).

  • Why the BB10 Webworks SDK requires java?

My resolution for the year 2012 is to NOT install the Java JRE on any computer. It is slow, he inflated, it is a security threat and it is owned by the worse Software House in the world.

OpenOffice (I can't stand the Oracle logo in the startup screen: for me it's dead) LibreOffice mind started because Java is missing? Easy, google docs!

    Eclipse? Notepad ++

Android SDK? He pit too, BB10 is coming!

But I remembered that bbwp was just a batch calling a jar, which is understandable, because in this way, it works on win/mac/linux without a lot of trouble

The BB10 SDK will not install if the JRE is not installed. I opened with 7zip and it looks like the only app that needs it, just install it, flexera installanywhere!

You did a great job in replacing java binaries by node.js, why not make the full spend and use a decent facility that does not need Java?

You don't need an installer at all, just unzip the folder and it's done!

2012 InstallAnywhere Enterprise Edition costs $4499, please do a favor to you and us to these savings and use any program installation.

It is really an installer for it, expecially if requires us to install a useless platform to automatically capture the virus during the navigation.

    Thank you.

I spent some time to investigate on and Java is required for bar packaging and signing

But I found a way to make it work without installing Java (under Windows):

    1. Extract the BB10 SDK with 7zip
    2. Extract the JAR the SDK with 7zip
    3. Merge the content found in the CONTAINER with the contents found outside the jar in a folder named BB10SDK (for example)
    4. Copy the java folder from another computer
    5. Copy it to X:BB10SDK\dependencies\tools (java \bin will merge with the bb10sdk \bin)
    6. Place X:\BB10\dependencies\tools\bin in the system path
    7. Try in cmd if java works
    8. Voila! You can package & sign the apps, with the benefits:
      1. jqs.exe and jusched.exe aren't constantly hogging the cycles cpu
      2. no internet = faster and safer browser plugin
      3. BlackBerry-deploy and other tools available from any where cmd (well, that it's easy)
  • Can we install Momentics IDE on a Linux system without a head?

I have access to a headless (no display) Linux system.

I would like to install the 2.0 Momentics old or new IDE 2.1 on it and use its command line tools.

I am mainly interested in getting the line tool of command currently running on this computer, to push my builds to my blackberry testers - deploy.

    Is this possible?

I ran the "momentics - 2.1 - 201404211616.linux.x86_64.run" file, which has created a folder "bbndk".

In the "bbndk" folder, I tried running "q", but I get the error message:

    QDE: Cannot open display:

    QDE: Cannot open display:

    QDE:

An error has occurred. Check the log file

    Home/MyUserName/bbndk/configuration/1401121318696.log.

This .log is not really tell me anything useful.

I tried to adjust my X 11 DISPLAY dimmer environment to point to my Mac running the latest version of XQuartz server and it still failed to open the screen.  (Momentics is an X 11 application?  Just take a wild stab here...  Cannot open display sounds kind of X 11 - ish to me.)

Even when I try to run "sdkinstall - list", he complains that qde cannot open the screen.

Installation of the SDK BB10 and with the Momentics tools via the command line even possible in a situation like this?

    Thank you

    Ed
