  • Migration to Vista Home Premium programs and files for Windows 7 Ultimate

Hi guys, I just want to know if there's no possibilities

to migrate from installed programs and files in my Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate

    --------------------------------

Also if I have Vista Home Premium should I switch to Windows 7 Home Premium too. I want to Windows 7 Ultimate!

    Hello

You can upgrade from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium or ultimate; the choice is yours.

«Compare the editions of Windows 7»

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/compare

If you go from Vista 32 bit Home Premiun 32-bit Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate, you can do an inplace upgrade.

The same goes for Vista 64 bit for Windows 7 64-bit

This will keep your programs and data intact.

But ALWAYS make a backup of data when you perform this type of work on your computer.

"How to do an Installation of upgrade Inplace of Vista to Windows 7"

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/1818-upgrade-install-Windows-7-a.html

And before you buy Windows 7 read and check to see if your computer is able to use Windows 7 to its best advantage:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Check if your specifications are compatible for Windows 7:

    "Windows 7 system requirements"

"Windows 7 Compatibility Center" for software and hardware:

    Windows 7 upgrade paths:

And the Microsoft Store where you can get an idea of the price of Windows 7:

    See you soon.

p.s. If you want from 32-bit to 64-bit, or 64 bit to 32 bit, upgrade facilities are not available.

You will need to do a clean install.

As I suggested previously, conversion to a format like
. WMV before you import it into Movie maker may be the solution.

The free Converter from Microsoft can be a place to start:

Type or workspace... CTRL + SHIFT + R)

Look for the file/s that you want to convert.
(If files do not appear... open the fall
    window and choose... All files)

Click (highlight) left the files and the left on the Open button.

You can see the files in the "Multimedia content" pane

In the right column... left click on the tab "Output"...

Open the drop directory window and choose an output folder.
(This is where you will find your converted file)

On the left, click on the button "encode".

Wait... video encoding CPU intensive and can
be a slow process. It is always best if you do not have
    multi-task while files are encoded.

Now... try import you again. File WMV in Movie Maker.

  • Email from MSn Premium and Windows 8

I just bought a new computer that came with Windows 8.  He has a place to access my mail on this subject, but it's a very different format from that of how I got my Premium Butterfly email set up.  Can I access my e-mail from premium on Windows 8 Butterfly so that I can keep the format, I had?  I had several groups put in place in my address book, but I have not enrolled in the e-mail of Windows 8 program.  The address book is in a completely different area and it doesn't seem to be able to deal with the contacts in the group.

MSN messenger and similar software are cancelled

Hotmail.com has also been replaced by Outlook.com

You don't have to use the Windows 8 e-mail, you can use Windows Live Mail or another 3rd party software too
On your contacts, contacts connected to your live/hotmail/msn account should be there
But if your address book was local, you must export your list of contacts from your old computer and import from your live account or the e-mail software to use
  • Lost my MSN premium, came back... but now I have no Picture it! 9 or Express plus. Please tell me there is somewhere I can get it back...

I still have the files on my system for her, but they are empty now.  Just need a place to download it.

Please understand that... Yet once again, I was all excited, clicked on the link and no go. LOL anyway, suggestions FREE photo editing software, which is the image resizing tool?  Nothing I've found seems to have this option.  And I'm looking for FREE because Picture It! 9 was included with my MSN Premium paid.  Just irritated, I guess, because he doesn't seem to be something to replace the PI9, and yet she was part of something that I pay for.  I guess that Windows Live Gallery should be the replacement, I have, but it doesn't have many of the features that PI9, including resizing of the image.

    =================================
If you still have the MSN 9 CD which was distributed
free by Office Supply stores there are a few uears... you
may be able to install Picture It! of him.

The easiest way is to resize photos in Windows XP
with the free Image Resizer PowerToy... you can get
    it from the following site:

Download and install for free the following
    Win XP PowerToy:

Go to the following link and download and
    install: ImageResizer.exe
    http://www.Microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/PowerToys/xppowertoys.mspx
    (does not work on Vista)

Then, you can open any folder containing
images and you will have an option to resize.
Just right click the selected image files and
Choose resize images in the menu. You
can select a picture or an entire group.
Just open a file and go to... Edition / select all...

(Tip: even if you resize the Photos to the same)
... original size the size of the file will be greatly
    reduced).

The program will place the resized in copies
    the folder with your originals.
(Tip: * never * overwrite your originals)

To ensure that images in both portrait and
landscape orientation are resized to the
    same dimensions... go to... Advanced...
and enter the largest number in these two areas.
IOW... for 600 x 800... Enter 800 in these two areas.

And... the following freeware image editing
    all have resizing options:

  • The access permissions to the NTFS file in "C:\windows" and "C:\Program files" are not secure

    Hey there
Had a minor shock after I discovered that the access permissions default to the "limited users" in "C:\Windows\" and "C:\Program files\" are raised by the image automatically XP - Pro installed on my Tecra A6.

Default access permissions to the NTFS file in "C:\windows" and "C:\Program files" for "A limited number of users" should not have permissions "File/writing data Creation" or "Creation of folders/adding data. This opens up for what is called dll redirection attacks (ref: http://blogs.msdn.com/aaron_margosis/)

When you install a Win XP a normal retail or OEM Windows XP cd these two folders are special protected by this measure (not allowing the permissions listed for limited users). Installation procedure of your image work it around (in established Microsoft) measure and open breaches in security.

Now I have to drop all these permissions and hope that all of the utilities of your work for limited users after that that, otherwise you get a very unhappy customer on your hands. ;)

    Hi Henrik

Thanks for the information. I have a common user of Toshiba and I have never heard of such attacks to redirect m .dll.
However, I think that if each user install antivirus software (nothing unusual at the time; everyone should use) and activate the Microsoft Windows updates and OS firewall should be safe.

    Greetings :D

PS: I read in this forum that sometimes some Toshiba applications as energy saving does not work under limited account.

  • What is the price of MSN Premium?

I used to get MSN Premium free with my Verizon account.  Verizon has sent a notice that it would be more free, but I don't know what is the price?

    Hi Pat,

There are two price plans for former Verizon with MSN Premium customers. The $59.95 package year gives you telephone 24 / 7 technical support and MSN Premium Internet software you receive today: great security software with McAfee AntiVirus Plus - MSN Edition and Spy Sweeper from Webroot® for MSN, advanced junk e-mail filters, guard pop up and several e-mail accounts.

Alternatively, for only $9.95 per year, get MSN Premium Economy Pack which includes the same integrated our browsing experience full of MSN Premium price but with the technical support provided through forums of users, rather than by phone. McAfee® AntiVirus Plus - MSN Edition and Spy Sweeper from Webroot® for MSN security offerings are also not included with the economic package of MSN Premium.

    It's: MSN Membercenter.

    I hope this helps.
