List of contacts of parental control over Kids

Is it possible to activate the parental contact management feature for children?

How Microsoft envisions a parent right now, not before that point, trying to control more precisely a childs contacts list?

Hi Bob,

Thanks for posting the request in Microsoft Community Forums.

You have already set up a parental control using the Windows parental control?

There is no parental control for Outlook.com. However, the parental control has a similar feature called Management of Contacts. Unfortunately, this feature is no longer available.

For more information on the interruption of contact management, please see the link below:

To manage your son using an account parent account. Please see the link below on how to set up parental controls on your son's account by using Windows parental control.

Protect your kids with parental controls

Note: You can select the operating system that you use in the drop-down list.

You can also download the installer of Windows parental control in the link below:

Hope this information helps. Response with status so that we can help you.

  • Place the Parental control over the Admin account

I use a Macbook Pro with El Capitan 11.1 2012

Today, I put Parental controls on my admin account, which resulted in the managed account. I can now use my normal administrator username / combo of password to remove it. I tried everything I found on the Internet, including into single user mode and create a new account to change to leave, but the code didn't work in my case.

I was wondering if there is any easy solution or new thoughts there for this OS...

Also why it not easier? Or at least a warning? Looks like Apple could have come up with something after that it was produced for the years.

Please take these steps to restore the privileges on your account. This somewhat tedious procedure is only necessary if you have verified that no work administrator account exists on the system.

If you do not already have a current backup of all your data, you must back up before taking any of the steps below. Ask if you need advice. You won't need the backup unless something goes wrong, which is always possible.

    Step 1

Start in recovery mode. The OS X Utilities appears.

    Step 2

This step only if you use FileVault 2. Start utility disk, then select the icon for the volume FileVault startup ("Macintosh HD", unless you have given it a different name.) It will be nested under another icon of the disc. Click the Open button in the toolbar and enter your login password when you are prompted. Then quit disk utility must be returned to the main screen.

    Step 3

    Select

    Utilities ▹ Terminal

in the menu bar. In the window that opens, type this:

    resetp

Press the tab key. The partial order you entered will automatically end this:

    resetpassword

Press return. Opens a window to reset the password. Select your boot if not already done volume. Pull down the menu option

    Select the user account

    and select

    Administrator (root)

Follow the prompts to set a password. It is safer to choose a password that includes only the characters a - z, A - Z and 0-9. I suggest that you write the password. If you don't write it down and forget about it, you will start again at step 1.

    Select

     ▹ Reboot...

    in the menu bar.

    Step 4

This step, as step 2, applies only if you use FileVault. Sign up as usual, then select

     ▹ Disconnect...

from the menu bar or press shift-command-Q key combination. Do not restart. You go back to the login screen.

    Step 5

On the login screen, click on the other... Enter 'root' (without the quotes) in the name field and the password set in step 3 in the password field. You should now be logged in as root. It is a potentially dangerous situation. Do nothing by being logged in as root except as indicated below. You'll be fine as long as you don't dismiss the plan.

Open the preferences users and groups window. Select your usual administrator account from the list of users and check the box marked

Allow the user to administer this computer

You will be prompted to restart. Do this and log in as yourself, not as root. Your administrator status should now be restored.

    Step 6 (optional, but recommended)

Follow the instructions in this article to support under the title "disable the root user. You must authenticate in directory utility as a 'root' with the password set in step 3. As another administrator authentication will not work.

  • device does not appear on the list of devices or parental control - model EA2700

My son's iPod caused the parental conrols system crash. For some reason any his ipod has shown three times on the list of devices. So, I hit the 'X' on the list of devices when it has been disconnected to remove it from the list. Now, I can't it appears below the list of main devices or parental control. I can see the unit if I look under the DMZ/DHCP client table. I can even see it under the access as a guest, but it will not show upward under a regular connection, so I can't control it how do I get it to show up again?

The ipod must log on again, then it should appear.

I usually reserve an ip address for these devices in a dhcp reservation and give it a name in the reserve for the devices shows always like something that I can recognize because it can appear as just "peripheral network' for a name.

  • Cannot add child account to the parental control

No matter how many times I add my child account to watch safely from the family, it does not work. The account appears in the list of monitored accounts and has the correct options I selected via the Family Safety however website when my child connects his account said "this account is not monitored by parental control.

I deleted the computer AND the child of the Family Safety options site. I uninstalled and reinstalled parental control over the child's laptop computer but the account is STILL without oversight and shows via the control panel in Windows 7.

When I log on the site of Family Safety on that account child watch the monitored account as 'white' "computername" when "in white" should be the account on the laptop.

I am a computer professional and cannot understand it. What other options do I have?

    ANSWER FOUND!

I found the answer on a long search of these forums...

I had this problem because the computer name was the same as the name of my child's account. I changed the name of the computer to another one of his account on the computer and I was able to successfully activate Parental controls through parental controls on the computer.

  • Can I set parental controls on firefox for a specific user only?

I use windows 7 and firefox 18.0.2. On my PC, I have my Admin account and my account of children. Now they arrive at an age that they are requiring Internet access for projects and so on, I wonder if I can put parental controls on firefox (by add-on?) as I have on windows, while master's log in to their account, firefox only allows access to what I received. In other words, limit the use of internet ONLY for their account, while I'll still be able to use firefox without restriction. I don't want to use another browser that I ' m not as familiar with just so I can put a parental control over everything on this browser. Any ideas?

It did the trick. You can restrict any program or browser to their liking. Although I do not have someone else (Microsoft...) do it for me, it works as should be for now. Thank you for your time!

  • I set up the new user on my MacBook Pro with the parental control, and I want to allow access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint for Mac.  I have those checked in the dialog box list, but they may not appear in its applications. Am I missing something?

I set up a 'user' for my son and use parental controls.  I want to him to have access to Word for Mac, and it appears in the list of applications I can check to allow use for.  However, when we opened a session under his username, these applications do not seem to be anywhere.  When you configure new users, applications such as Word for Mac or the available Pages on users?  I can't find any information to help in this regard.  I don't know if I'm missing something under user put up, or parental controls, or both.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

These requests should be made available, provided you installed then in the folder/applications, not in a private folder ~/Applications for a specific user.

Is - it there anyway I can see the IP addresses of my family security "devices" devices list?

    Hi Ruben Soltren,.

Please submit your query. I understand how it was to have this feature in parental control, but currently, we have no option. What we can do is to send this as a feedback through this link so that our product team will be aware of the suggestions of our users of the product.

If you have other concerns, feel free to post back.

  • Redirected page 'Protect your kids with parental controls' when you try to sign in to Family Safety

I'm able to access my security account for the family to manage the accounts of my children.  I keep getting redirected to the page of 'your kids with parental controls Protection. "  What happened, and what should I do about it?

I've updated the customer on my son's computer.  After that, I was able to log on the website of the parental control without problem.

  • Parental control blocks WMA format audio playback of the site on the list of allowed sites

I use Windows Vista Home Edition basic pm a Compaq desktop computer. I've set up parental controls for the user account of my son. Under parental controls, I've marked ', apply the current settings,' ' we vires infromation on the use of the activity, ' no time limit are marked, games is marked not for theirs does not, all programs are allowed - none is marked to the block, and web restrictions are marked Allow list only. When he goes to his school site at home (which is on the list of allowed sites) and clicks on an audio conference that is WMA format it said of a box with Windows Media Player, along the top border and the message: Windows Media Player cannot perform the requested operation because the Parental control filter Web is turned on. To enable this action, ask your administrator to disable the web filter for your user account. Is it possible to get this set up so I don't have to temporarily turn off the parental control. Which kind of defeated the purpose controls, if I turn them off for this presentation, he will have free access to the Internet until I turn it back on. This means that I need to sit on it during the time that parental control is switched off! Not funny! I love being able to allow only the sites that I approved, if I could just allow him to hear the audio to WMA format that would be great. Any ideas?

  • parental control for windows and IE8 lists

could you tell me where to find lists allow/block for access in ie8 Manager and parental control under accounts of users and parental control?

    Hi pavilion_alex,.

For Access Manager, see the following: http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-use-content-advisor-in-internet-explorer-8.html.

For Parental control, see the following: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Set-up-Parental-Controls.  For each category, there is a tracking link that provides details on how to manage this particular aspect, including where are the lists and how block/allow access.

Windows Live Family Safety 2011 allows you to manage remote parental control - but not really adds additional means to block or allow.  You can simply access computers remotely to do what parental controls can do this on the local PC.  Here's where to find this program: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-family-safety?os=other.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Parental control: I am the admin of the computer and the computer won't let me access the list allow and block my child's account

I am the administrator of the computer and the computer won't let me access the list allow and block my child's account.  I'll bring my parental control password, click on my childs account, put parental controls, go to web filter and click on block some web sites, click on edit the allow and block list and the computer tells me that it is not able to make changes to parental controls settings and see the system administrator if the problem persists.

    Hi Ranw,

    ·        What is the error message when you try to change parental controls?

    ·        Have you been able to make any changes on this computer from your account earlier?

You can follow the steps below and check if you can make changes to the parental controls on your computer.

    Step 1:

Disable UAC (User Account Control) and check the result. Access the link below and follow the steps to disable UAC.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-user-account-control-on-or-off

Note: You must restart your computer when you enable or disable UAC. Change levels of notification does not require that you restart your computer.

    Step 2:

I suggest to create a new administrator account and log later in the new administrator account, try to set parental controls and check if it works.

    Create a user account:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Create-a-user-account

Check out the link below to check if the parental control is properly set:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/set-up-parental-controls

I hope this helps. Let us know the result.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • list allowed parental control Web site

I recently reviewed the website authorized under parental control list.  Only a few family members know the password.  I need to know if each site on the authorized list can be placed there with the permission of the password of the user account.  Is it possible that a site can be put on the list without the password?

Is it possible that a site can be put on the list without the password?

    In a Word... not.
Or a member of your family is very good with the computer, or got your admin password and adds a Web site without your knowledge.

  • Accidents to the list of programs that allows, under Parental control

I'm running Windows 7 Pro. When I'm trying to set up parental controls on a user, I get an Explorer error that is reported and terminates the process.  Can not put in place. Specifically what happens under Parental controls, allow and block specific programs, can only use the programs I allow it, he seems to try to generate a list when it crashes.  Y at - it a patch known or is it possible to correct by repair of the system disk.

Thanks for the reply.  I finally determined with the help of Microsoft that my installation is corrupted some how.  I reloaded the OS and the problem disappeared.
