Load default setting drop Downs

Hello

I have two drop downs.  The second is filled (via a table) based on the choice of the first descent down.  What I would do, is that when the first drop down menu is selected, the second drop-down displays a default value that the user can change if they want one of the other choices.

It's a job application form that I create, must drop two downs to describe the work and these choices then fill the cost. When they do not use the second fall down the cost does not appear and it seems that it's free!  Not what I want.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You can set the selectedIndex property to display the default after loading the second dropdown.

DropDownList2.selectedIndex = '0 '.

Index starts at 0 for the listitems. For example, you can set the selectedIndex property to the index of the default value.

Thank you

    How can I set drop-down list as a parameter in the report - WCF PDF layout?

    The list is a simple list of strings.

    Leonid.

    I don't know if I understand the question.

    I think you have a report that contains an entry required consisting of a list of strings.

    Looks like you need a mechanism that allows users to specify the list of channels (in a drop-down list).

    Is this correct?

  • Remove the default value drop-down list

    I am currently working with Acrobat Pro XI version. I want to know if it is possible to remove the default value in a drop-down list.

    When the list less than 4 elements, it is possible to deselect the default value by pressing the spaces below. However, when there are no more elements, it is more possible.

    I read that you need to include white space as a component in the list of elements, however, then you will see an empty list item when people work with the pdf that is not preferable.

    So, nobody how to remove the default value in a drop-down list?

    Thank you!

    OK, I found a perfect solution to my problem by using FormsCentral for Acrobat. Here's what you need to do:

    Step 1:

    -Open FormsCentral

    -Create new form (choose the blank form)

    -Click the drop-down menu to create a new drop-down list

    -Fill out the items in the list by clicking on the timeline (you can also add a label if you want)

    -Click on: file > save as PDF form...

    Step 2:

    -Open the PDF saved (you will now see a blank pdf with a menu drop-down)

    -Click on: Tools > forms > Edit Form (when a pop-up window indicates that you should save a copy of the document in order to make changes, press 'Save a copy' and open the file with Acrobat pdf copy)

    -Select the drop-down list, the drop-down list to copy and paste it into the desired document

    Now you have a drop down without a default choice. Remember that you can not change the items in the drop-down list, because we will choose a default choice and you must use the copy pdf file once again. As long as you do not click on a list item, it is not choose a default choice.

    It is not a perfect solution, but it works for me.

    Good luck and thanks!

    Shift + Select all the colors in the color library you opened and drag-and - drop to the Swatches palette. Or if you want to add only a few colors, and then click the colors one by one, those who would be added to the swatches Panel.

  • Help select the value from a drop-down list box

    Hello

    I develop a script (in JavaScript) which will allow a user to select an export PDF presets (that are loaded in a drop-down list) and then export the InDesign file to PDF, by using the selected PDF preset.

    I have the combo fill properly and I am also able to export to PDF correctly, however I have a problem setting the preset has been selected by the user. Here are some of my code fragments:

    Drop-down list:

    with(borderPanels.add()) {

         pdfDD = dropdowns.add();

         sl = new Array();

         for (i = 0; i < app.pdfExportPresets.length; i++)

         sl.push(app.pdfExportPresets[i].name);

         pdfDD.stringList = sl;
         pdfDD.selectedIndex = 0;

    }

    ...

    myPreset = pdfDD.selectedIndex;

    In PDF format:

        // Open, Export, & Close
        for (i = myFileAmount; i >= 0; i--) {
            app.open(File(myFolderContents[i]));

            createHyperlinks();

            app.activeDocument.exportFile(
            ExportFormat.pdfType, File(myFolder.fsName + "/" + app.activeDocument.name.split(".indd")[0] + ".pdf"), false, myPreset);
            app.activeDocument.close(SaveOptions.no);
        }

    During the passage of myPreset, it is defined as 6 (the index from the drop-down list).  How can I set myPreset that the real value of what has been chosen?

    Thank you!

    In view of your code, you probably need something like:

    myPreset = app.pdfExportPresets.itemByName (pdfDD.stringList [pdfDD.selectedIndex]);

  • Change the value in the field based on the drop-down list

    Let me start by saying that I consider myself as a rookie full when it comes to this program, but I'm learning. I have a drop down menu containing two choice (white or bright white) based on the selection in the drop-down list, I would like to change a field value to reflect the appropriate part number (Alpha numeric if it matters). I'll have 10 fields that will be either / or a value based on the selection. I searched the forums, but without understanding the terminology still, it is difficult to find the answer.

    Thanks for any help.

    Wayne

    Oh, OK.  So add "select" to the list and then on the value tab, select the default value: drop-down list and choose the item you want to appear by default.  I think that's what you're looking for.

  • In a tubular form: how to make a drop-down list box reflect another

    a two field

    orange bread
    grape meat
    lemon juice

    in the area there is only the 3 but in the table representing two there are several such as bread and meat and juice types, all three.
    Hope you can understand this example. Thanks for your help.

    Hello
    You can follow the example or do it easier as follows: -.
    Let's say you have two combo box P1_ITEM_ONE, P2_ITEM_TWO

    for P1_ITEM_ONE, I guess you have LOV query based on the table something like this.

    Select Champ_1, field_id from your_table

    Make sure that you assign a null-1 and -1 for this list box default value drop-down.

    To make the P2_ITEM_TWO something like this to LOV-
    Select item1, item_id from your table where (field_id = NV('P1_ITEM_ONE') or NV ('P1_ITEM_TWO') = - 1)
    order by 1

    Hope this will help,

  • Drop-down list not reset default

    I can not get the dropdown to work as I need. All things considered, this seems to be the best control for what I need but I can't seem to restore the default option.

    When an option is selected, I perform an action in a text window. It is very good. But the option is selected, and if I want to perform this same option, once again, the request is ignored. Choose another option then go back and it's ok.

    What I want to do is a default option, just "select an option" is displayed after each selection.

    I can't understand any combination of sets/resets option indexes or slots that will do that for me.

    Well I just tried to not delay reset.

    No doubt you've already tried this, but only to avoid you through all combos yet would be some sort of delay (possibly QTimer like eloise suggested) into the slot of onSelectedIndexChanged drop-down setting SelectedIndex = - 1;

  • dynamically load the Options in a drop-down list in C++

    Hey guys,.

    I'm trying to dynamically load items Option in a drop-down list by using C++.  I have a function in my class of WorkManager file that does the trick:

    QStringList WorkManager::getListOfItems() {
        int i = 0;
        QStringList taskNames; // used for debugging mainly, so i can print the list out to debug
        QList  myObjects = m_model->toListOfObjects();
        DropDown * dpList = bb::cascades::Application::instance()->scene()->findChild("scriptListDropDown");
        if (dpList != 0 ) {
            dpList->setSelectedOption(0);
            dpList->removeAll();
            for (i = 0; i < myObjects.size(); i++) {
                Task * myTask = (Task *) myObjects[i];
                taskNames.append(myTask->taskName());
                dpList->add(Option::create().text(myTask->taskName()).value(myTask->command()));
    // delete myTask; // do I need to delete the task object?
            }
    //      qDebug() << "WorkManager::getLIstOfItems(), ---> list of tasks is : " << taskNames;
            return taskNames;
        } else  {
            qDebug() << "WorkManager::getListOfItems(), ---> dpList was 0";
            return taskNames;  // empty list
        }
    }

    I also found this thread:http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Native-Development/Adding-options-to-a-DropDown-from-c/m-p/21... that helped me get the filled drop-down list when the application starts.

    However, I need to re - fill list from time to time, when the list (a GroupDataModel) changes.  calling the function above a second time anywhere in my application appears to hang the application immediately.

    I think / thought it might have something to do with the slot for the onSelectedValueChanged, but I can't understand it.

    It seems down right when I do dpList-> removeAll().

    I also can't seem to find the right place to call this function to an object of type in my class.  I think it's because the drop-down list is not ready yet as the dpList * is always 0 unless what I call after the line:

    app->setScene(root);

    in the applicationui.cpp file.  Calling it works on start-up, but trying to update the list later (by removeAll() and recreate) causes the app crashing.

    is there a better way to do it?  .. and make it safer?  I can't understand how to do this.

    Thank you!

    J

    First, drop the:

    dpList->setSelectedOption(0);

    Not only if it is not necessary, but it will explode your application if the function is called when there is already no options in the menu dropdown.

    Also, do NOT delete the task, because it is still owned by the datamodel. I also see that you use type casting C, which just blindly accepts your cast, even if it's a mistake. Instead, if you know for sure what kind it will be this way instead:

    Task* myTask = static_cast(myObjects[i]);

    If you are not sure if the type you are casting the is the type you need, use the dynamic_cast instead:

    Task* myTask = dynamic_cast(myObjects[i]);

    The advantage of this more static_cast , is that if you try to perform a type cast is not compatible, then myTask will be set to NULL.

    Alternatively, Qt offers a replacement for dynamic_cast which works on platforms where is not regular C++ casts.

    Task* myTask = qobject_cast(myObjects[i]);

    It is functionally equivalent to dynamic_cast, but as I said, it works on all platforms that Qt exists, whereas dynamic_cast cannot.

    Once you did get back to us.

  • Global scaling by default to search drop downs

    I'm looking for more information on how to set the default values for drop downs in PLM.  For example, when an Internet user searches for hardware specifications in GSM, the default is to search by name.  However, is it possible to have this set to find # instead.  Almost all our end-users does not search by name.

    Thank you so much Kelly.

  • XLATLONGNAME from the drop-down list should be a default value in the edit box

    Hello

    I have two fields in a grid, one named "TEST_Type" and one is named 'TEST_Name' edit box
    Use cases, TEST_Name by default will be TEST_Type in Drop Down.

    "TEST_Type" is the translation of edition Table and 'TEST_Name' will contain XLATLONGNAME.

    I do drag XLATLONGNAME of PSXLATITEM table in my grid and make related field and "TEST_Type" a related control field.

    Show LongName according to the value "TEST_Type.

    If the field 'TEST_Name' RowInit, I wrote

    If GetRow(). IsNew and
    No (MYRecord.TEST_NAME. Value) then
    MYRecord.TEST_NAME. Value = GetRow(). GetRecord (Record.PSXLATITEM). GetField (Field.XLATLONGNAME). Value;
    End - If;

    It gives an error

    "Class line method GetRecord account PSXLATITEM is not valid. (2 268)

    MYRecord.TEST_NAME. RowInit

    The recording has been used as a parameter of the specified method. It is not valid for the current object. »

    What is the problem?

    Is there a better solution for this use case?

    Thanks in advance

    I think you mix a few think upwards.

    The drop is on a class with the values of translate. So, when you set the property to the field from the drop-down list page to view the longxlatitem, you are finished.

    If you want to copy the xlatlongvalue for some reason any other areas, use instead the domain object properties.

    & dropdownlownlist = getrecord([YOUR_RECORD]).getfield ([YOUR_FIELD]);
    VALUE = & dropdownlownlist. LongTranslateValue;

    Kind regards

  • Set and get a drop down list

    Hello

    This is a general question to YOU, but since I work with FM, I'll try here first.

    I am able to create drop-down lists WITH and set/get the current selection, but I'm not clear on why he works in his own way. It seems that when I put the selection, he uses an index of current articles, but when I get to the selection, it gets the actual value.

    Consider this example, with comments:

    create a drop-down list for the dialog dlg

    dlg.dropDown = dlg.add ("dropdownlist', undefined, [10, 20, 30]);

    This sets the current value in the box of 30

    dlg.dropDown.selection = 2;

    However, this report 30, no 2

    Alert (DLG.dropDown.Selection);

    Anyone know about this? It is true that it's a clue when set and a value when obtained? I couldn't find anything in the documentation on the subject.

    Thank you

    Russ

    Nevermind, I got it. The property of 'selection' is actually a primitive ListItem, not only one type of data object I thought. For example, the default property of the ListItem is chosen differently in different scenarios. To clarify:

    dlg.dropDown.selection.index

    .. is the index

    dlg.dropDown.selection.text

    .. the text value is

    So I should use the complete property to be sure.
