  I chose LKM SQL for SQL to load source for staging and IKM SQL for SQL add to load from the staging to the target.

  If you want to use the dimension essbase as a source, then you'll need extract the size of a target using the 'LKM Hyperion Essbase METADATA to SQL.
  It would be also possible to go directly to the planning of the relational tables in the applications, but you must have an understanding of how they work.

  If you use IKM to load the data into the planning...
  
  What happens if we load data into 2 different plan types.
  
  Do need separate configurations through data charge directors in planning for each load.
  
  So if we have different interfaces, user should configure the planning before the execution of each adapter?

  You are right. The table that you have described is in the format 'Generation' (the highest to the lowest level of the hierarchy). The KM of planning requires data to load in format "Parent/child". You must create multiple interfaces (one for each pair of generation) or use a view to make the transformation.

  While a view seems to be the easier choice, note that ODI will not be able to perform any analysis of lineage of data on the integration process.

  Hi all...
  
  I'm trying to load the metadata in Essbase by using a rules file... When I load the metadata using the rule file in Essbase, it shows me all the size and fields well... I like... But when I try to do the same thing using ODI... Laughing out loud!!! It creates only the dimension and the fields appear as the way in which it has been entered in the table sql... ie a field consists of a line of the table created for the file of rules...!
  
  Can you help me to know where I am going wrong?

  When loading SQL, you will need to have defined delimiter as the decimal point in both the rule file and in ODI, I wrote another [blog | http://john-goodwin.blogspot.com/2008/11/odi-series-loading-sql-metadata-and-its.html] on this subject goes into why it is no longer possible to use commas.

• Smart View for Essbase unavailable in rapid deployment planning

  I managed to deploy EMP 11.1.2.3 by following the steps in the deployment planning guide (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E40248_01/epm.1112/epm_planning_rapid_deploy/epm_planning_rapid_deploy.html). However, when I do the Smart View by using a URL of shared connections to http://< servername >: 9000/area of work/SmartViewProviders, I only get the connections for the planning and of the declaration and framework. How an I get a connection for Essbase?

  It turns out that 11.1.2.3 rapid deployment planning wizard does not install Essbase service provider, just planning service provider and Reporting and analysis of service provider. Until that I installed Essbase service provider, I wasn't yet able to create a private to Essbase connection. I had to run InstallTool.cmd and select "Provider of Services Web Application" in the Essbase selection screen section. I also had to run the configuration utility and select "Deploy to the application server" under "Service provider" in the Essbase selection screen section.

  After that, I was able to create a connection in Essbase with this URL: http://: 9000/aps/APS

  Even though the private connection was working now, the Essbase connection was still does not like a shared connection in Excel, when I put the Excel Smart View option for shared connections URL http://: 9000/area of work/SmartViewProviders. I could get this job to rerun the configuration utility and selecting "Configure the Web server" in the section "Hyperion Foundation" of the selection screen.

  I was also able to create an XML file as Celvin suggested using http://: 9000/aps/APS for connecting to Essbase. Thanks for the suggestion!

  If you want to fetch data from the essbase planning data and load into a table of interface?
  The table interface is essentially just a relational table, there are a number of ways to get order dataexport data, report script, cdf, essbase mdx.
  You could automate with scripts, ODI, or if you are willing to pay then stars analytical.

  You must first create the empty application.
  Stop the planning service.
  Then drop/recreate the schema.
  Then import the .dmp

  I got the same error message when the environment variables have been specified incorrectly. Particularly variable LIBRARIES COMMONS.

• Issue when loading metadata

  I am trying to load the metadata of a shared dimension in an epma planning an application using the contour load utility, but something is wrong. I use a Plant.csv file for the metadata and here's my test file format.

  When I run the utility to load the file, this is the message that appears in the log file

  A refresh of the cube operation will not be run.

  Look at the files of newspapers of Essbase to status if Essbase data have been loaded.

  Planning of vector data store finished loading processes. 2 data has been read, 2 data records have been processed, 0 were loaded successfully, 2 were rejected.

  
  

  It also generates the error in the error log that says "com.hyperion.planning.InvalidMemberException: the ABC member does not exist or you do not have access to it."

  
  

  I see that the member exists in the outline of the application. I don't know what I am missing or incorrect to do. Please help me with your entries.

  If it is an application of EPMA then you need to load the metadata for EPMA and not directly in the planning, the contour load utility is for Classic applications

  I had really any problems.

  The client computer, installed 11.1.1.9 OBIEE administration tool.

  An Essbase installed 11.1.2.4 customer, I installed this version as it corresponds to OBIEE 11.1.1.9 as who uses 11.1.2.4 drivers.

  Update bi_init.bat to include the ESSBASEPATH variable and adds the path to the variable ESSBASEPATH\bin

  

  Open the online administration tool, import

  

  Tested the connection to two 11.1.2.3.506 and 11.1.2.4 Essbase

  

  Imported fine.
