Loading of Lotus Smartsuite in Windows 7

I have a very old version of Lotus 123 (specifically Lotus Smartsuite 3.1) and even if it worked on Windows 95 and every version of Windows since it does not load on Windows 7; I tried the 64-bit compatibility. support Windows 7 breast without a bit of luck.  I've built a few programs very, very large (2 + meg of spreadsheets) with this version of Lotus, and they don't run correctly even with new versions of Lotus.  So, my problem.  I need load and run this version of Lotus (Smartsuite 3.1) so my spreadsheet works correctly.  It took a year to build, and I don't really have another year to review and update to a newer version of Lotus which may or may not work in Windows 7.

If the problem is specific to Lotus SmartSuite 9.8.2 I'd contact the IBM Lotus SmartSuite support for assistance. Consult the following link:

I use a Dell Studio 1737 that came with Vista. I've upgraded to Windows 7 Pro and used the Lotus SmartSuite 9.8.1 without any problem. Try this:

Insert the installation media in the drive. Do not access the disk with autorun. Stop smoking. Use Windows Explorer to install using setup.exe.

  • Can no longer create charts in Lotus SmartSuite 9.5 in Windows 7

I have Windows 7 and using Lotus SmartSuite 9.5 without any difficulties until recently.  I can always create and update spreadsheets without difficulty, but my paintings have disappeared.  If I try to create a new chart, Lotus unresponsive and finally by closes.  No error message is given.  I tried to use the Troubleshoot utility and some sort of compatibility thing (sorry, don't remember what it was), but all that was to increase security and force me to leave Lotus make changes before allowing me to open the program, which was very annoying that I did a system restore.  I reinstalled Lotus but still cannot create a chart.  Anyone know of a patch or fix for this problem?  Thanks in advance for any help.

I would ask the experts in a forum of Lotus SmartSuite.

  • Lotus SmartSuite 9.8 tries to install in Windows 7

The Compaq Presario with Windows XP and Lotus Organizer 4.1 demo is about to bite the dust, and I REALLY don't want to lose the data. I bought a HP laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with 750 GB HDD and a disc of Lotus SmartSuite Millennium 9.8.1 and could really use a detailed step by step how to install the Lotus program - I'm so scared to mess up my laptop and winding up with nothing.

My hard drive, readers are listed as drive Local (c) and (d) recovery and the RW DVD drive (E :) - when I double click on the E: drive, I get "Error the system registry access" and "unexpected error;) quit smoking»

When I click with the right button on the E: drive & click on properties, I just get tabs ' General, hardware, sharing, customize, recording ".

When I click Start type E: - I get a list of items on E: autorun, Extra, fonts, Lotus, System32, Temp, Windows, autorun, instmsia, instmsiw, ISRun, Lotus SmartSuite-English ReadMe, ReadNet and 3 configurations (I find is .exe).  If I click on the setup.exe, he asks "do allow you the program following an unknown Publisher to make changes to this computer? I did have the courage to click Yes. This install program or mess up my laptop?  If I click Yes, are there questions on, or am, I did, running?

I'm not computer illiterate, but am also not irritable and would appreciate help leading me through this installation.  Thank you in advance.

I installed Lotus Smart Suite 9.8 on several computers Windows 7 without problem.  Do not click twice on the CD or enable autorun to start the installation, simply use Windows Explorer to view the contents of the CD, then right click on Setup.exe and choose 'Run as administrator', it should install just fine.

  • Lotus Smartsuite Millennium Edition is compatible with Windows 7, get "is not a valid win32 application" message

Is compatiblew Lotus Smartsuite with Word 7

Get "wordpro is not a valid win32 application" when from word processor & message on time settings change when you open the worksheet, is it because of compatibility issues, or I had somethiung wrong during installation

I know Smartsuite is old hat but have used it for many years to effect gpood and want to continue if possible

If not compatible how I can role my new computer restores on Vista please

YES, IT is At first, that I have failed to install.  When I put the cd in the drive, I would get an error that says "cannot access the registry" or something like that.  I spent hours on the phone with lotus in India and they said they would email me how to solve the problem but have never, even after a few, follow-up phone calls.  Then I found a post in line with a solution and I'm sharing it here.

I have windows 7 64 bit version and it is now installed and works very well with my client files old husbands and he is so happy.  What you need to do is put the CD in the drive and then go to windows Explorer and click on the D drive (or whatever your external drive) and look at the files that are on the CD.  Find the configuration file and click it.  Simple as Hello - it will install.  He just won "t install when you do it directly from the CD in.

I hope that others may find this useful.  I'm not a technology person, so I'm glad it was so simple.

  • How do I reinstall the Group Lotus SmartSuite

This problem is related to my previous post of 20/06/2008 18:04 Re: problem of Installation of Windows XP Recovery:

    + Quote: +.
+ Tried to install Win XP Pro on my PC Toshiba 5105-S702 using the recovery CD (circa 2001) that were provided with it, but was blocked at the beginning of the recovery process, with a message indicating that the product key is not valid. I suspect that it happened because the defective mother on the laptop had been replaced by a new motherboard. +

+ Luckily I had bought a Version XP Pro SP1 detail a few years before, so I was able to use it instead of the recovery CD. +
    + End quote.

In fact, it was a 'bad machine' error message that pops up in place, not a message of "invalid product key".

I just realized that I have a Lotus SmartSuiteV9.0 CD that was bundled with my computer laptop satellite 5105-S702. Of course, I want to use this new software, but suspect that I will experience the same kind of problem I've experienced with the installation of Win XP from the Toshiba restore CD, as shown above.

In other words, I suspect that either the SmartSuite CD will not be recognized by, or recognize, the new motherbaord (which in fact is the motherboard for the equivalent European model 5100-603) & and/or Win XP Pro installed on the laptop, which has been installed since the commercial version of Win XP Pro SP1 CD, rather than the recovery CD (which (, by the way has a top scratch, and therefore can also be the cause of the problem original recovery CD installation).

If you would be grateful if someone could tell me how to get around this problem of installation of Lotus SmartSuite, short obataining a restore CD of Win XP to install on the computer prior to the installation of SmartSuite, & and/or get an ASP to fix the DMI information stored on the new replacement motherboard.

    Thank you

    AlanCB

    Hello

Is this Lotus SmartSuite software must be part of the image of Toshiba which is placed on the Toshiba Recovery CD.
Fact is also that you are not able to use the recovery CD because of the wrong information DMI stored on the motherboard.
The new recovery CD will not help you because in my opinion, the CDs are copied and are all the same. So the only solution is to contact the ASP to modify and correct the stored DMI.

PS: of course, you can purchase a full version of Lotus SmartSuite and can then reinstall it on your Win XP operating system.

    Best regards

  • Lotus Smartsuite on new HP 500-250ea

    Hi Jaco

Yes it is strange. I've always been able to install software before, even if I had to do with administrator privileges, and as I said in my original post, I managed to install Lotus Smartsuite on other Windows 8 and 8.1 machines.

But never mind, I found now another Organizer app (organizing Anytime) which does not seem to simulate the version of Lotus, so I'll give it a try. Also, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to download all my data from Lotus, which is a major bonus. That said, I'm about to go on vacation and do not want to happen while I'm away, I'll have to give up ordering him later.

In the meantime, thanks for your help - it's really appreciated.

  • Lotus Smartsuite 97 compatibility

I have Windows 7 installed on my Acer laptop and my Acer netbook. I installed Lotus Smartsuite 97 on both without problem. All Lotus programs will work perfectly. I just installed Win 7 on my desktop and now I try to install Smartsuite 97, but get a message saying that the compatibility problems with approach 9.x. Control solutions online gives nothing. You try to run the installation program displays a message 'error access registry' and "unexpected error, stop smoking" if I try to move forward. What is the solution?

My CRM is created through Lotus Smartsuite approach and it is sitting on a server. Access us this server via remote desktop.

When you access via Windows XP and older, you can consider all messages dialog box. However, when you access it through Windows 7, all messages to the dialog box disappear.

What should I do to get the rundll error load it says this c:\windows\system32\swwagui.dll, but when I search it he says that it excist doesint

    yeremis,
You don't need to download the help file.  So just follow the steps described in this article, that it will guide you through performing a clean boot.  The boot will start Windows without other programs startup.  This should stop any program that tries to use swwagui.dll.  Then you can go back and turn on startup one items at a time to determine which type of program is causing the problem.

If the error persists while in a clean boot state then you should try a restore of the system forward when the problem started. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers
