Loading (without rules file) crashes on EAS on the loading data in the exported file.

I'm doing a load of data in a database if a file I exported previously and data loading crashes just after taking in the text file. It hangs where it says "press ESC or cancel button to complete the current operation. It is a very small text file that am loading data from. I have to kill the ESSSVR process for this particular application back the EAS to perform other tasks. Am able to do any other tasks very well. Also on our Prod environment we do not have this problem and can't seem to load the data through very well exported text files. Has anyone seen this behavior before?

Thank you
Ted.

This announcement so it would be beneficial to others on 11.1.1.4 with essbase on RHEL 5 server. The answer to the question is in this Doc ID 1531236.1 knowledge of Oracle database. Apparently, it shows only on RHEL 5 and glibc is updated glibc - 2.5 - 107 of glibc - 2.5 - 81. The solution is to donwgrade the glibc 2.8 - 81. Please refer to this doc 1531236.1 if any of you have a similar problem.

  • Issue while loading data using the file Rules Essbase

    Hi all

    I am facing problem while loading data using the Rules file. In the rules file, I rejected several members in two areas (two dimensions). Now if I load the data using the rules file I'm getting errors for all members in the dataload.err file. If I reject mutiple members of a single field, the data load without settling errors in the dataload.err file.

    I want to know how rmany members of several fields of ejection for loading data using the file Rules Essbase? Is it possible?

    Okay, okay... I think that you must assign Global Select / reject Boolean in the parameters of loading data as 'Or':

  • Unable to load data using the rules file

    Hi all

    I am facing a strange problem while loading data by using a rules file:

    1. I don't get any error/kick. It gives fair attention No. data values are modified by this data file loading. But nothing will load inside.

    2. I tried with Maxl and directly from EAS but gettting same warning.

    3 has tried to block sending n to entires in the data file and it does not work (so no Dynamics members etc..)

    4. rule file validates correctly.

    5. I tried with different types of different files (Csv, Xls, Txt, etc.) but no luck.

    Any suggestions / ideas of what could be bad?

    Don't know what exactly was the problem, but I recreated the rule files and it solved the problem... May be a case of corrupted file rule?

  • Is it possible: Loading SQL with generic rule file?

    Hello
    When you load a flat file into Essbase, can be defined in the header of the data load domain names. In the load data, dimension names given and at the end of the data. In the file rule under Options > properties of data source > header reference could be made to this line. It works very well.

    We want to load the data with SQL in the same way. A load rule with a variable substitution for the selection view and we can use it for every load of data. We specified the name of dimension in the table column header. The data column has been defined as 'data' - without the quotes.

    The result is so far, it does not load.
    The question is - did someone tried this before and can help me on this?

    Thanks in advance.

    the data column can be repersented in several ways, as I do usually is to set for the Member, it belongs to. In my example where your variable substitution & currmth is "Jan" then "Jan" would be the name of the column. The next month when the var void changes to Feb, on Feb.

    The drop-down list in the EA when you right click on the database and select load data. I have a question, the Member that already in outline? If this isn't the case, you will have problems. You would have to add it or have a line in the file to load at the top, with something like account, balance sheet in it. Also in the State of charge have you changed the load parameters of dimension for the dimension of accounts to be parent/child for the dimension of accounts. Often enough, the people don't realize they have to double-click the dimension name to make sure it gets set as the dimension that gets changed.

    I'm sure that your question is she trying to make loading the data and not the generation dim, but it might just be the first problem

  • Load data into Essbase using the rules file

    Hello

    IAM trying to create a rule to load for the fresh Essbase cube associated with the Hyperion Planning Application.We having 14 Dimensions (including the HSP_Rates Dimension).

    The falt file used to generate the rule file has columns related to the 13 dimensions as well as the data as the 14th column column. When I validate the rules file, he said "the rules file is correct for the loading of the data.

    My concern here is iam not taking care of Member Dimnesion related to the Dimension of "HSP_Rates" (not even as the Difinition of the header). I'm doing something wrong here? How validation can MOVE independently without taking into account one dimension?

    If I insert the data, while recovering the data in Excel which dimension member HSP_Rates should I use?

    Any response is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

    You should charge against 'HSP_InputValue' in the HSP_Rates dimension, i.e. where the input values must be loaded.

  • Ask about the load of metadata in Essbase using the rules file

    Hello

    In our application, we load the metadata using the Essbase rules file and here, we are faced with a problem. Suppose we have load a member of level 0, called "xxxx" under two different parent, assume parents are Parent_AAAA and Parent_BBBB. But our demand is the operator of consolidation for the first occurrence (i.e. under the Parent_AAAA) is '+' and for the Member shared under Parent_BBBB is ' - '. But, when we are load using rule file the operator of consolidation for the Member always shared loading as ' + '. Y at - it a trick to change the operator of consolidation for other than manually changing outline shared member?

    Pls help... Thanks in advance.

    I don't think that there is a way to change the default setting.

    However, what you can do is to have a different charge and rule file different text with only the metadata that you want to have an exception for shared members. In this way, you can get that you don't have to change existing rules file.

    Hi all

    I need to load the flat file DATA (no metadata) or an Oracle table in to ESSBASE using ODI.

    Where can I find an example or a tutorial on the loading procedure.
    I have not have how to use ODI with a rules file:

    (1) in the standard rule file I can insert a transformation (join, split ecc.) can be used
    a rule like this in ODI file?

    (2) if I put the file of IKM SQL for Hyperion Essbase (DATA) rules I have to manually set the mapping
    between the source and target? the mapping is not set in the rule file?

    (3) can I use both the type of rules (flat file or SQL) file?

    If you go to the next page in my blog, you should see a link to all the different posts around ODI and hyperion knowledge modules - http://john-goodwin.blogspot.com/2011/08/odi-series-summary.html

    In ODI, you can do all the transformations, the rule of the load is really used to optimize the process of loading the data.
    You must configure your interface with source and target mapping, and then create a rule to load that corresponds to the mapping of the target.
    You can use any type of source.

  • ODI vs rule file load

    Hi all

    I would like to know the difference between the loading data to essbase directly using files of rules from a flat file or an RDBMS and load using ODI.
    And using rule files in interface ODI to load the data, what kind of performance and efficiency can be achieved with it.

    Thank you

    The choice is really yours, I'm not sure you how many performance advantage you would see ODI not use with a rule of load, sometimes it is just better to test and see.

  • How to load data from ms sql to the by the file rules and maxl essbase

    Hi, everybody!
    Pretty Shure the kind of topic exists already on the forum, but unfortunately can't find it.

    I want to understand, how to load data from the database to ms sql for the PB of essbase application.

    (I) so I have:
    1. a request for 'society '.
    2 and its database 'Plan '.
    3. with simple outline, which contains only two dimensions:

    -The time period < 1 > (Label only)
    -Total year (~)
    -Qtr1 (+)
    Jan (+)
    Feb (+)
    Mar (+)
    -Qtr2 (+)
    APR (+)
    May (+)
    Jun (+)

    -Accounts < 1 > (Label only)
    -Lost / based (~) (Label only)
    -Revenues (+)
    L1.1 (+)
    L1.2 (+)
    -Costs (-)
    L2.1 (+)
    L2.2 (+)

    (II) also, I created a rules file called "CO_DWH" and associated with this schema
    It (Rules file) a 3 columns:
    Data of the 'period', 'account '.

    There is also the option checked "load data".

    (III) in MS SQL Server, I have a database of "hypdb" and "essadmin" with "password" login

    (IV) I executed my bat file:
    C:\Hyperion\EssLoad.bat
    There is only one line:

    EssLoad.bat-
    startMaxl.cmd EssLoad.txt
    ----------------------------------------------

    EssLoad.txt-
    login password admin on erpserver;
    Import database data Company.Plan connect in essadmin password using the server rules_file 'CO_DWH' error abort;
    disconnection;
    "exit";
    --------------------------------------------

    All plans that I copied well worked ERP system, but I don't understand, this is exactly table in the MS SQL database, data loading to essbase db?

    TOU have to do a few things
    1. on the server of Essbase, put in place a system odbc for your MySQL database connection
    2. in the State of charge, go to the file menu and select open source SQL database and in the source of data in your SQL statement. A few tips. Where it says select, don't put in the select Word and when he says to not put in of. The system adds for you. TI enter a simple SQL statement is to do this in the box so select if your SQL would be normanlly as select * from myTable just enter the code as * from myTable in the upscale neighborhood

    The ol/recover the click and fill your connection information. Should bring back the data in the State of charge. Save the State of charge and use

    I saw the technical reference Essbase ASO MAXL data loading and code syntax diagram indicates that it is supported.

    1._____________________________________________

    spool to 'D:\logs\maxlresults.out ';

    function SIERREUR 'WRITE_ERRORS ';

    / * do stuff * /.

    Define the label 'WRITE_ERRORS ';
    spool off;
    spool to 'D:\logs\maxlerrors.out ';
    "exit";

    2._____________________________________________

    coil stdout to "D:\logs\maxlresults.out."
    coil stderr to "D:\logs\maxlerrors.out."

    3._____________________________________________

    essmsh script.msh 2 > D:\logs\maxlresults.out

  • Need data files and rules file to create and load data for sample.basi

    I need emergency data files to build dimensions dynamically and also the rule files for loading data to the application Sample.Basic for Essbase 9. Kindly let me know if anyone can provide them. Otherwise any link frm where I can get it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Outline and all the data (calcdat.txt) are included in the zip, so you don't need to rebuild something with the loading rules

    See you soon

  • loading data to essbase using EAS against back-end script

    Good afternoon

    We have noticed recently that when loading of our ASO cube (with the help of back-end scripts - esscmd etc.) it seems to load much more overhead then when using EAS and loading files of data individually.  When loading using scripts, the total size of the cube has been 1.2 gig.  When you load the files individually to EAS, the size of the cube has been 800 meg.  Why the difference?  is there anything we can do in scripts supported to reduce this burden?

    Thank you

    You are really using EssCmd to load the ASO cubes?  You should use MAxL with buffers to load. Default EAS uses a buffer to load when you load multiple files. Esscmd (and without the command buffer MAxL) won't. It means loads long and larger files. Loading ASO, it takes the existing .dat file and adds the new data. When you are not using a buffer load, it takes the .dat file and the .tmp file and merges together, then when you do the second file, it takes the files .dat (which includes the first load data) and repeats the process. Whenever he does that he has to move together (twice) .dat file and there is growth of the .dat files. If nothing else I'll call it fragmentation, but I don't think it's as simple as that. I think it's just the way the data is stored. When you use a buffer and no slices, he need only do this once.

  • EAS load data and contour review

    Dear all,

    I am currently using Hyperion planning 11.1.2.2, I created an application with appropriate (see below) outline

    HSP_Rates/account/period/year/scenario/Version/currency/entity/brand/product/customer/measure

    and created the corresponding tables in essbase I want to load the data via Eas, I created a file to load data (a table) with exactly the same column names as my plan dimensions names EXCEPT HSP_Rates which is absent in my data file. I'm sure all the dimension members are correct / exist and there is no empty fields.

    When loading the file, the following error message appears:
    Value data [2056] met before that all selected Dimensions, complete Records [2]
    Unexpected error Essbase 1003007

    Question: I need to add a column named HSP_Rates in my data file? should what value I put under this column?

    PS: workload data file is an Excel file

    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Best regards.

    the problem is resolved:

    Load data into Essbase using the rules file

    the answer is Yes, create a column named HSP_Rates with 'HSP_InputValue' as values in the data file.

    Thank you
    you
