Local disc (c :))

Hi, I ran the file verification on the NTFS file system and an error came 90778 and it seems that I can't pass this point unless I cancel the
check the drive whenever the computer turns this error sometimes I run Microsoft Security Scan and Microsoft Security Scanner.
And the problem persists!  Thank you.  Raul

Please do not let your Windows version a secret.

You use CHKDSK to check NTFS the syetem?  If so, I seem to have a hardware problem.  What is the full and original of the error text?  With what program you scan when the error occurs?

Windows Update forum is one of the three forums that doesn't have different forums for different versions of Windows (Internet Explorer and the game are the others).  With this in mind, we ask that you postat LEAST the following information.  If you don't know how to find some of the information and then post what you can and let us know that you need help to find information.

    Minimum information to validate:
Version of Windows and Service pack level. (Windows XP Home Edition, SP3; Vista Home Premium, SP1; Windows 7 Ultimate, etc...)
Post also if you use 32-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows.

Update the number of the last update installed before any problem.  If you do not know the number of update, then give the date that the update has been installed.  The number of updates update failed.

Error code updates failed or if you think an update caused a blue screen, give the blue screen error codes.

    Other information to validate:
Measures already taken to correct the problem and the results of the measures.

If the question is never happened before with other updates.

A few other useful parts are:
What program antivirus you use, if it is up-to-date, and there has never been any other installed antivirus program.
If your version of Windows has been upgraded from a previous version or if it came with (or clean installed with) the version you are currently using.

  • Impossible to extend the local disc (c :)) after local disk (d :)) reduction

I have narrowed my local disc D for 10 GB, because I wanted to extend my local C drive. After I shrunk D, I went to extend my C drive, and I could not extend it, it would mean that these 10 GB simply disappeared. In disk management, it is said that these 10 GB are still there, that is, its size is still normal, but when I open my computer it says that it is smaller than 10 GB, and it really is. That space is just gone, I guess.

I hope that I was clear enough. Any ideas?

Depends on the free space is located compared to C

Victory records management integrated that it cannot be done if the free space is right next to C

Use the free Partition of http://www.easeus.com/partition-manager/

  • Failed to open local disk C:.

I accidentally changed the security settings local disc C: / deny admin (my account only) whole Local disk access permissions. I could not reveert it since I disabled it also have permission to change settings. Since I have nothing important on my computer I decided to re-install windows7 (I have netbook without CD), but the computer, I guess, could not access files and message appeared: "the boot selection failed because a required device is unreachable. After Googling my prolem I discovered hidden admin accout activation could solve problem. I did and delete my original account. When I tried to create a new one, I realized that I can not open "Add or remove user accounts" in the user account and security for the family. : S if there is a way to return permission access to my account (currently hidden admin, but at least I could reinstall win7, I guess that) I'd really, really appreciate your help.

EDIT: I created a standard account via CMD and managed to open C: / /... Problem solved!... Well not quite... Now Windows 7 tells me my copy is not genuine, and I can not yet return computer provided the factory...

The simplest method is to perform a factory restore, consult the manufacturer's web page for detailed instructions. You won't need a CD and you will not need to log in. Also note that the "Block" option in the folder permissions should be used with extreme care. In most cases, it is not necessary.

  • How to do a clean install on my Equium A300D

    Hello

I got an Equium A300D-13 x which runs vista Home premium. I bought it to PC world a few years ago. I want to sell it and I want to do a clean install to put it back to its original state. I removed all my data on an independent hard drive already. I read the virtual manual supplied and he said to start pc and press the F8 key to access the Advanced Boot Options menu and then do a repair or something? I'm sure it will be clear if I am still here! I've always been able to remember another high office I've owned to enter in safe mode using F8... This seems a little weird. Can someone please advise.

I also had a 'local disc Q' appear in the MY COMPUTER section about two months ago. I don't know how it got there and I do not have the permission to access. I tried to change the owner of the file, but I'm not allowed? Can someone explain this please?

I'm afraid that the security on my laptop has been violated somehow, I'm having other problems that relate to some very technically accomplished of not nice people.

    Hello

Let's start with the installation of the OS.
How to install the original recovery image using the HARD drive recovery mode is described in http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

To check please, read carefully and try to make the new installation of operating system, following the steps described.

    Hello

Please perform the below mentioned steps that should solve the problem.

    Double-click Bin.
Find and double-click one of the following files. You only have to choose from.

Right-click on it and select "create shortcut".

  • Equium won't start - how to access the recovery partition?

Hi, my sister has a 2008 Equium A200-1V0 with Vista 32-bit, that no longer starts (probably due to damage of rootkit virus). It loads the BIOS but then goes to black screen with blinking cursor.

    F8 does not work.
F2 goes to Phoenix TrustedCore Setup utility. The Toshiba hard drive and a CD-ROM drive are listed in hand and start in the right order.

Using F12 I can get it to boot from a Win7 64 bit repair disc that I burned using my laptop.

However, it does not recognize the operating system or any image or restore points (because it is 64-bit) but he will be responsible for command prompt.

To * guest *, I can launch Notepad and when I click on file / open and double click on computer it shows 4 Hard drives as follows:
    Local disc (c :))
    Data (d :)) 42 GB free of 54.5 GB
    WinRE (e :)) 1.11 GB free of 1.46 GB)
Boot (x :)) 29.0 MB of free space of 31.5 MB (which is used by the repair disk)

So the C: drive is listed, but without ability.

    * CHKDSK *.
CHKDSK c: /r and press return

«The type of the file system is NTFS.»
Unable to determine the status and version of the volume. CHKDSK is abandoned.
Cannot transfer messages saved in the journal of the events with the 50 State.

    * Run TESTDISK *.

    Analysis:
Size of the partition start end in sectors
    1 P Windows RE (store) 0 32 33 191 89 26 3072000
    2 * HPFS - NTFS 191 89 27 7477 118 1 117051392
    3 P HPFS - NTFS 7477 118 2 14592 190 62 114307072 (data)

    * = Primary bootable
When you perform a quick search, then P - list of files, the second partition it reports:
"Cannot open the file system. Filesystem seems damaged. »

So what I want to do is boot to Windows restore to drive E.

My question is for Toshiba experts: If F8 does not work how to use the recovery partition?

    Laptop is:
    Part number: PSAF5E-002005KS
    Main features
    -Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor T2310
-Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Edition
-Drive DVD Super Multi (Double Layer)
    -2 048 (1 024 + 1 024) MB of RAM (667 MHz)
    -15.4 "WXGA TFT display 1 280 x 800

    > THIS ISN'T MICROSOFT, TOSHIBA, AND GOOD PRODUCT DESIGN.
I really put t know that should do better than to place the Microsoft sticker at the bottom.
This product key and sticker on it's just proof that you purchased the machine with an operating system preinstalled and legal active OS version. This key belongs to original OS (recovery image) that you got with your laptop and it is not a kind of universal key that you can use for the activation of the operating system if you have made the decision to install the clean version of the OS.

In General, this key is totally useless. While your computer you've got legal copy and this version, that you can install so often desired. It must not be enabled.
    > So my question still remains: can I recover my Toshiba laptop using this restore partition?
If you want to recover using the Toshiba recovery image response is not. Cannot start HARD drive recovery facility.
    > Even with a dvd of Windows Vista is genuine, I can't reload the OS
In my opinion you need make the clean OS installation using the clean installation or order original Toshiba Recovery disk on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx disc and install original (already active) recovery image.

  • On Qosmio F45-AV411 errors Windows Update

    Hi all

Below the discussion with me and the microsoft support on the problem to my laptop.
What can I do next? Thank you very much.

    Hi Jon,

Thank you for your response and delayed apology.
After that I will review the outcome of the System File Checker, it shows that there are corrupted files in impossible to remedy Windows and Windows system files. So the next step is no choice for the repair of Windows and if you have a computer of OEM manufacturer I'm afraid that you do not have to have.

You should ask the manufacturer of your computer to this Windows repair. If they're going to ask you to make a Windows Recovery please backup all your important files, as he'll recover your computer originally manufacture settings.
    Thank you for your cooperation.
    Your patience is much appreciated.

2 turn on the computer and when the POST (Power On Self Test) is completed, press the F8 key until you see Windows advance Options menu.

If your OS is confused upward then ONLY reinstall new would be really useful and recommended.

So take your recovery disk and the operating system to restore to the factory settings.

Hi everyone, I really need the helpful comments here, I m going crazy!

I bought this computer HP Pavilion 17 laptop-e019dx at best buy not long... already have a problem with a windows 8.1 update, but anyway...

I did a system restore and it is up to windows 8, fine, then all of a sudden I turn the laptop on another day, and without warning it resets to factory settings ... no account picture, no wallpaper, dates back to Bing is the default, the screen has IE search engine, File Explorer, store and office on it and nothing else... all my settings and customization is gone... but more importantly ALL MY pictures, videos, music, and all files are GONE!  SO FRUSTRATING!

After MANY hours (a few days), I was able to recover most of the pictures which is what I've really supported on most. Saved USB´s, disks and creates a new partition ¨ Local disk (D ¨ where I saved all my files.) When the system resets itself, it resets only Local disc c, so my files are in D:... I can go back to everything being the same accomplishment the thing to restore the whole system again... but 1 or 2 days later, it resets everything new and need to start as if I just opened it from its box... non-stop... very frustrating because it takes time to restore and do not know it s good to continue to do that on the computer...

Sorry for the long story, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello kcno58. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. I understand that the computer itself restores the default settings. I will do my best to help you!

You have a program installed before other troubleshooting, named 'Deep Freeze' procedures. It is a program which will reinstall the operating system, once the computer is turned on, sometimes. For more information on this program, please see this site: Deep Freeze (software)

If this isn't the case, I would make a repair of the operating system. To do this, follow these steps:

1 turn on the computer with the installation DVD or USB. Then, start Windows 8 with him.

    2. follow all the instructions until you see "Repair your computer" and select "troubleshooting."

    3. go to "Advanced Options", select "Automatic repair" and the operating system.

Now, the operating system to repair itself. Once this is done, please let me know the results. I'm only here to help!

  • Restore Partion D should be lit

Pavilion G7, Windows 8. The player named ' RECOVERY (D indicates that the PROTECTION is DISABLED.). Is it OK or should I turn it on?

Protection is enabled for Local disc (C (System))

    Thank you

    Hello

That's right, the protection must be disabled for the recovery Partition of D (IE no restore points will be created for this partition) and should be on your Windows C partition.

    Kind regards

As to why 90% of my games do not work, I looked around, I discovered that it was directx10 ect ect, so I resinstalled the redist pack Dx9c and they still do not work. anyway I can get my money on vista? just want to go back to XP, afraid it works.

BTW the games where Planetside, Panzers cold war (a windows game!), Hawx, C & C3. the planetside works but then when loading in the game, he stops his car. the rest comes back by saying one of the Dx9c files are missing.

im not going to go seaching all my files and replace ect, I paid for a reliable OS and its just rubish.

    Well let's try this.

    3. click on START
    4. click on 'computer '.
    5. go into «Local disc (c :))»

    11 check the following options:
    "Disable visual themes".
    "Disable Desktop Composition"
"Turn off the display timing Hi settings ppp.
    "Run this program as Administrator"
    12. click on 'Apply' at the bottom right
13 go in which you extracted the files in the package archive
    14. double-click and run the batchfile to DISABLE SERVICES
15 try to run the game
    16. Once you left the game, go run ACTIVATE SERVICES
This will allow us to see whether something works in the background is at the origin of launch problems.

  • can I copy my music from my zune to my computer collection?

I would like to know if I can copy my music on my zune to my computer device. I want to have my music stored just in case something ever happens.

    Hi TiffanySchuld,

You can follow these steps and check if it helps.

Before you continue, take a backup of music files in any external device: CD/DVD, USB key.

    (a) connect the Zune to your computer via the sync cable. Wait that the Zune is detected on your computer.

    (b) click the Start button > desktop.

    (c) double-click 'disk removable/Zune '.

    (d) simultaneously press the keys "CTRL" and "F". This action opens the search inside the Zune utility. Enter the name of the audio file you want to copy into the search bar and press ENTER.

    (e) right click on the file. Select "Send to" and choose My Documents/Local disc (c :)).

    Hope the helps of information.

Please post back and we do know.

  • I can't get back Windows xp style in the appearance of the Desktop Properties tab, now I have to Windows Classic style in the offer. My OS is Windows XP Professional.

I was connected to the internet recently, my brother was cleaning my computer against malware with Avast, and then this problem with apperanse happened. I run "services.msc" and saw that themes were arrested, I started it and Windows XP apperance turned upwards immediately, but when I restart my computer it was Windows Classic style apperanse once again, and when I run "services.msc" themes have been arrested again. I've done several times more, but whenever I turned off my computer and restared it, Windows Classic style apperance came back.

I am looking for the file, in which the themes must be - path to the executable "C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe-k netsvcs" in Local Disc System XP SP2 (C), but I have not found it. I don't know, maybe it was delete when my brother computer scaned with Avast, it found some malware - win 32 and Trojan horse.

Can you tell me what to do and how to fix this?

I had reinstalled my OS and everything is ok now :) computer was full of malware (others on the computer is not working form me).
