Windows Update forum is one of the three forums that doesn't have different forums for different versions of Windows (Internet Explorer and the game are the others).  With this in mind, we ask that you postat LEAST the following information.  If you don't know how to find some of the information and then post what you can and let us know that you need help to find information.

Minimum information to validate:
Version of Windows and Service pack level. (Windows XP Home Edition, SP3; Vista Home Premium, SP1; Windows 7 Ultimate, etc...)
Post also if you use 32-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows.

Update the number of the last update installed before any problem.  If you do not know the number of update, then give the date that the update has been installed.  The number of updates update failed.

Error code updates failed or if you think an update caused a blue screen, give the blue screen error codes.

Other information to validate:
Measures already taken to correct the problem and the results of the measures.

If the question is never happened before with other updates.

A few other useful parts are:
What program antivirus you use, if it is up-to-date, and there has never been any other installed antivirus program.
If your version of Windows has been upgraded from a previous version or if it came with (or clean installed with) the version you are currently using.

  • Access denied to the second disc

My hard drive went wrong, so I bought two new albums: SSD for the OS and a few applications and a regular hard drive for data. I pulled the old drive, threw the new ones, reinstalled Windows on the SSD, and everything was good! I have created a few directories on the HHD, downloaded files in there and then I rebooted to finish a few things from Windows Update.

When I logged in, I could not open the phonebook on the HHD containing my downloaded files. "D:\ is not accessible. Access is denied. "This has constantly produced with the second disc.

    Some info:

    • Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
    • C: drive is a NEW SSD drive with an operating system installed on it
    • D: drive is a NEW HHD for data
    • I connect with the user during the installation, I created. This user is in Admin group.
    • As far as I can tell, I have no problems with permissions on the SSD
    • A lot of people have this problem with the old disks after upgrade or reinstall - this is not the case here! These discs are new.

    I tried the things:

    • Granting of permissions/access my user group is part of the
    • Granting permissions/access directly to my user
    • Granting a group ownership of the directory my user is part of the
    • Granting ownership of the directory to my user
    • Do the foregoing to various combinations of input drive root, parent directories, etc.
    • Reformat the drive several times - this solves the problem for a while, but he returned after a few reboots

Granting permissions or take ownership usually results in an "access denied" message I can perform these functions if I log in safe mode.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I am completely frustrated and confused at this point. I have full access rights and have even files, but still receive "access denied" errors

  • access denied to the local system

    Hi all

I have an Active Directory Server with windows Server 2008 R2 as a domain controller. Now when I install another system with windows 2008 r2 and then attach it to this area, unfortunately however I connection, then by a user who has domain admin lever, many local resources (such as the sql server service) do me not stop or start them and also when I try to change local group policy, many of its elements are gray and I can't change.

  • Access denied to the local disk (D)

    Hello
I have a problem with windows 7. In fact, I changed the permissions on the local drive (D) to "total control has declined. I tried to go back to the 'authorized' by following the tutorial posted on your support site, but I am facing a tiring situation, since I have to repeat the process (right click--> Properties/Security /...) for each subfolder and the thousands of files in the folder. Is there a solution to this problem? If I install a new system that will overcome the problem?
    Please help me I'm stuck!

I changed the permissions on the local disk (D) "total control has declined.

    Why would you do that?

You will need to take ownership of files to repair the damage - see here:

  • I get an error, access denied to the C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Local\Temp

Original title: access denied to the C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Local\Temp

    Hello

I have a problem with the Windows 7 C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Local\Temp temp folder. Sort randomly, I lose access to this folder, in the sense that if I open a cmd terminal and I try to cd to that folder, it gives an access denied error (at least that I start cmd as administrator). I noticed in the list of permissions on this folder does not appear the SYSTEM. I read somewhere that this is the problem, so I added back, and then it worked. Unfortunately it disappears every day the list of permissions, and I have to put in place every day which is annoying. Do you know what could cause this problem? How can I see which changes these permissions?
    Thank you

    Hi Razvan,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community

According the information you have provided, I understand that you found error access denied when using certain commands to the command prompt. I will certainly help you in this matter.

    1. have you logged as administrator?

    2. do you have an antivirus software installed?

Some commands that you run at a command prompt, you need the administrative privileges for the good functioning of Windows.

  • FTP error. Access denied. The file does not exist (only on the roots)?

    Having a strange problem.

I just installed CS 5.5 and got one of my sites all over the place. I can connect to my remote server very well and download to any directory other than the root?

If I do, then I get this error (see below). This happens only when I try and put the files at the root, don't know why. I tried all the little things like:

I can use any other FTP program and I can not put the files in the ROOT, so it's just a thing of dreamweaver 5.5. I also tried my Dreamweaver CS3 on my old mac and it works like a charm!

  • "Access denied" for the administrator

I have only my account (like my name and "Computer administrator") and the comments "the guest account is disabled. Even with that, I get "Access denied" when I try to delete the "System Volume Information" (has two verses in the archive according to my antivirus software). What is the next step to the top of "Computer administrator" who will make me even better access. I really want to be the boss of this thing, not the tail which is moved.

System Volume Information is a protected operating system file, and users cannot remove it.  It can contain files created by System Restore .  To remove content System Volume Information , turn off System Restore , then turn on again. That will delete all restore points, then create a new one.

Note that infections in System Volume Information cannot become active and cause damage to the system unless you intentionally run the system restore and restore the system to a date and hour earlier.
