Local remote database configuration

I was wondering the best way to move a database mysql on my remote site.

It works fine locally and now I want to pass the site on my new remote server.

I'm afraid that I will name things properly and need to rebuild the database connection again.

Can anyone suggest one the best method to achieve this?

All comments appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

To be more clear.  I built a site on my server dev with dreamweaver cs5 with a connection to the base, and recordsets that pulls a lot of my paintings, all works well.  I have a hosting site, now that I need to move it to. I'm curious to know how to maintain my connections to database as I move it all to another server then my dev server.

Well first you need to create a database on your remote server. You can usually do so via your control panel (this is if your host has given access to one). Search for "databases" in the control panel. Create a new one and give it the same name as one that is hosted on your local server IF you can. Some hosts have a number in front of the database which is a pain the back as this means you will then reconfigure it your connections to database to run on the remote site (still not too much problem)

After you create the database on your remote control then you need to copy the information from the database on your local drive. Open phpMyAdmin, go to the database and choose 'export' in the top menu. Record information database on your desktop or the folder of your site. This will save a .sql file.

Now you can "import" the content of the .sql file in the database on your remote site. Open phpMyAdmin (via your hosts Control Panel) go to your database and select "Import" along the top, find the file .sql you downloaded, then select. That's all, your data will now be transferred to your remote database.

Now, all you have to do is to make sure that database connections are correct. IF you allowed him to create a database name, name, user name and password on the remote server that is identical to the one on your local server will very likely NOT change connection details. Download the files of your site and you should be good to go.

IF the remote host put a few numbers before the name of the database, username and password name then replace your local connection details with the. I always make a copy of my connection file so I can keep one local and one for outside.

Remote databases more use 'localhost' for the connection, but some use your domain name. So if one doesn't work, try the other.

CREATE TABLE local_table_t AS (SELECT NAME FROM reference_table_t@remotedb)

  • remote server configuration question

    Hello

I have my web app works fine on a local apache/php/mysql server. but now I'm doing work on the remote server. so far, no luck. a few questions:
the connection to the base for my local server has a user id and password. can I use the same username and password for the mysql database remote?
I understand how to connect the db to the apache server locally (I use port 8080), but I don't understand how the apache finds the right mysql database on the remote server. do I have to use the db connection in the application of dw Panel and modify the connection settings somehow it can therefore be used for the remote server? I noticed that I get an error: the requested URL doglist.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 not found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument directive to manage demand.
    Apache/1.3.37 Server at www.counselorone.com Port 80

Thanks in advance for all advice.

    David and Gareth Murray.

Thanks for your help. The last piece was dense enough to me, but I got it. David, I know that you deal with in your book, but you could probably devote a special section, its that delicate. The nuts and bolts of what I've done is...
    1. to develop my unconscious site at the remote server, including making local database connections. Because microsoft IIS stored in my own way, I changed the port of Apache on 8080. After reading David's comments, I think that its smarter to simply not bother to change the Apache port and manually turn off the IIS application. OR, you can go back once you have created the site and edit your config file Apache backwards to port 80, because you will need the localhost, not localhost: 8080 to connect to the remote server. To avoid pulling the hair, just to deal with the default configuration of apache on port 80.
2 hire a remote hosting company. I use the server range, although I have not been with them long enough to give a thumbs up or thumbs down.
    3. put the local site on the remote server. I used public_html to store my files.
    4. download the remote server to connect to the database. This last part seemed to require a few things, which were not obvious. Following the advice on this forum, I went to the remote site and note the username, password and database name. (these are NOT the same as my local site). I then copied/renamed my database on the local site to match with the prefix than the remote server has put on my remote database. For example my db was named test1 locally, but the server named wwwcoun_test1, so I renamed it which.
    5. I tried to establish a connection to the database with the new names. It worked. my understanding is that everything we try to do here is set up the connections correctly. you're dealing with loading data in the database with phpmyadmin, a great time-saving tool.
    6. I went on site remote and typed in the url for files downloaded to see if they would connect to the database. they did it.

That's all. Hope this story helps the next person who needs help.

Yet once again, thank you very much to those who responded. I appreciate your support.

  • Setting for the remote database ACS 5.2 problem

    Hi all

I installed ACS 5.2 device and try to backup report database (MS SQL Server 2005) remotely using remote database settings.

But the database is empty, and the task in the Task Scheduler is failed.

So I check MonitoringAndReportingScheduler.log and found the log message in the attached file.

I try to find answer to Cisco community support, but found nothing.

But I googled an article almost the same condition as mine.

    http://www.experts-exchange.com/Microsoft/development/MS-SQL-Server/SQL-Server-2005/Q_26931183.html

I wonder what the database configuration should I change to meet the requirement of this backup of report.

Because there is nothing on the database in the ACS configuration guide.

Is anyone successfully using this function?

    What does ".

I changed my ranking of Latin SQL database SQL, and his work. "in the article mean?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi, Mason,

It is very probably due to the CSCtk83179 ACS 5 export remote DB SQL view does not.

You must wait ACS patch 7 for ACS 5.2 or 5.3.

    Cheers, Irina

  • remote router configuration with EzVPN NEM by VPN

I have the following scenario: Some 836 routers Cisco EzVPN network are connected to a hub VPN 3005 in the main façade.

The work of LAN-to-LAN connection and I can also telnet via the VPN from a PC to the main façade of a router to a remote site using the address LAN IP of the remote router as a destination. But does not work for example do a "copy run tftp" on the remote router to the LAN of the main façade.

    My questions now are:

Is it possible to transfer the remote routers configuration file or via the VPN IOS image between the remote router and the LAN at the main façade?

And, if possible, how do we?

    Thanks in advance

    Mark

When you make a "copy run tftp" from the remote router, it goes to the source of its external interface TFTP packets, not its interior. The external interface to your local network packets are NOT included in the list of packages to be encrypted, and therefore they lose.

You must specify the router to the source its TFTP packets from the interface IP address inside, then these will be correctly encrypted and sent through the tunnel.

The following command should do the trick for you:

    IP tftp source-interface

  • Connecting to a remote database (slowed down) with the password file authentication

    Hi all

I was wondering if it is possible to connect to a remote database is stopped (idle instance) as user sys with sysdba privileges? It is said in the Oracle book - one to page 210 in the section - operating system and the file password authentication:

Connection with authentication by password file or operating system is always possible, any State of the instance and the database are in and it is necessary to issue commands to START or STOP.

Above indicates that it is possible, but I can't do it.

I managed to connect to the remote database that was in mode nomount (see below for more details).

When I first tried to connect to a remote database (idle instance) using the password file authentication, it gave due to error:

Also, I have no problems when connecting as user sys with sysdba when the DB is open, but can't get it working on an idle instance.

You can, but you need to statically register the database with the listener.

    : 1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6

If something wrong with that? What should I do? THX.

Yes, your host name is not available, not even locally.
You it could add to the list of 127.0.0.1 assign your return address of local loop, but this would restrict access to your machine only. If you want to access your database from another computer, you must have a static IP address for your machine. This can be affected by a static DHCP rule or by giving your network card a fixed IP address. In both cases, we must add that the IP to your/etc/hosts and give it the name of your machine, so it can be resolved.
By example, if your machine has an internal IP 192.168.1.123, your/etc/hosts should look like the following:

    127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4
    ::1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6
    192.168.1.123 sanjunbLin

After you add this kind of entry, you should be able to restart your database configuration and to go further. If no other requirements are not present, it will end successfully.

  • Remote database server and repository of OME

Do we need a local repository when using OpenManage Essentials?  When I go to the Source of the catalog and choose ftp://ftp.dell.com/catalog/catalog.cab does this mean that I download the latest firmware and drivers directly from Dell?  If so why do need me a local repository?

Also how can I see what the remote database server?  I know we have an OME DB server but I do not see where to OME he made reference to what database server, it is connected to.

    Hi Mike,.

It is not necessary to have a local repository when using OpenManage Essentials. Once you select the FTP option, you get the latest firmwares and drivers directly from dell. Local repository is an alternative solution in case you do not want to download the firmwares of FTP every time, or if you do not want to connect to the internet.

You can find your server of remote database from the details of the registry:

You start Regedit > HKLM > Wow6432node > Dell Computer Corporation > Dell OpenManage Essentilals > Database

"In"database ", the value under" "server" is the name of your remote database

Not valid. This makes no sense and breaks all the rules of scope-resolution. And if it is in a single database, or uses tables in databases, is not relevant.

Each object must be particularly well identified. If you cannot do this:

    select * from (table1@remotedatabase1, table1@remotedatabase2, table1@remotedatabase3) a

3 objects cannot share the same alias. Example:

    SQL> select * from (dual, dual) d;
select * from (dual, dual) d
                       *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis

You need to combine objects - by using a join union or similar. He will have to be done as follows:

    SQL> select * from (select * from dual d1, dual d2) d;
    select * from (select * from dual d1, dual d2) d
           *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00918: column ambiguously defined

However, we need to have unique column in a projection of SQL names - so the join of the need to project a unique set of columns. So:

    SQL> select * from (select d1.dummy as dummy1, d2.dummy as dummy2 from dual d1, dual d2) d;

    DUM DUM
    --- ---
    X X

    SQL>

I suggest that you look carefully at what opportunities are and how it applies in SQL - and ignore if the referenced objects are local or remote, because it has no effect on the basic principles of scope-resolution.

  • Remote server configuration problem

The problem I have is that the various dialog boxes multiple paths in the configuration of the remote server seem rather amibiguous. I tried what seems like every combination of remote and local access roads, as well as various url strings. Any combination I can't get the file to resolve a URL that works.

Our current development configuration consists of a central server running Windows 2008 Web Server and ColdFusion 8.0.1. There are three of us using the machine, each developer has their own part on it. We each have our own set of virtual servers running from the share, through IIS on the server.

This has been a great Setup for us because it allows almost double environment for our production configuration. However, I can't for the life of me get a remote server configuration works completely. I have a machine of secondary dev I use where I'm running CF9 locally, and it works perfectly (I am aware of people who say that eclipse doesn't really want you develop remotely). We will move our server main dev CF9 immediately, and we want to keep the centralized server dev, remote server seems how to configure things.

It seems that the best scenario is to set up a server for each virtual server I set up. I would set a maximum as in the dialog box:

    General settings
    Server name: foo - site.com

    Host name: dev1.foo - site.com

    Other parameters

    Web server port: 80

    RDS username: my user name

    RDS password: my password

    The remote server settings

    Naming port: 2910

    User name: username admin-server

    Password: password-server-admin

Document root: (it is a source of confusion, does she want a url? a local file as my drive path mapped "Z:\) » ? or the physical path on the server 'C:\webroot\ '? Could be a path from my eclipse installation? Also, he wants a global path? "or connected to this server config?)

    Mappings

Local path: (Once again, similar confusion... If it is local to me, or the server? or maybe a url?)

Remote path: (If this should be a url, and if so does an absolute url for the local path listed above? And this she the Local path is the root of the virtual host, it must then be the same as the document root [which doesn't seem to work]?)

    Install Extensions

Root Web server: (If it's a physical path? should be related to Eclipse on my machine? or from the server?)

Installation location: (It would depend on the web root of remote server of course)

I keep trying different things, and end with either the CF for a project server settings telling me the project exists outside of the root of the web, or sample that url looks like [ http://[hostname]/[projectname] .

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The document root must be a physical path on the remote server, for example 'C:\webroot '. This is the path on the remote computer and the path not mapped on the computer on which the CF Builder is installed.

In maps, local path is the path on the computer on which the CF Builder is installed. Path remote is the path on the remote machine and not the URL.

for example if CF is installed to D:\Coldfusion on the remote computer and the local computer (where CF Builder is installed) you have the files in C:\ColdFusion, then when you configure the remote server, you must define the root of the Document to D:\Coldfusion\wwwroot and then you must create a map with local as C:\ColdFusion\wwwroot path and remote as D:\ColdFusion\wwwroot path.

CF Builder uses this information when you preview files and when you debug a file.

  • How to select data from a remote database table?

    Hi friends,

I think I've seen before a sqlplus program that can select data from a remote database table?

    Witnessed: IP, SID, PORT

    The following is correct?

(I am connected to a local database)
    SELECT COUNT (*) IN THE EMP@IP:SID/PORT;

    Thank you very much

    Ms. K

    Salvation;

I think, that you can create dblink wihtout any problem yet, it's a PROD. After your selection, you can drop dblink

  • Database Configuration utility - huray? :-/

    Hello (again, sigh).

I want to install PeopleSoft FCM 9.1 and Yes, having no experience with the installation of PeopleSoft I decided to use the database Configuration utility, using the article provided by Nicolas Gasparotto as a guide:

The SEED is just a small database I created earlier to test connectivity between my servers - just a little crutch for me to see at least some progress. But it shows that Oralce is available, is it not?
    This who can I check/recheck?

Looks like I'm starting to be a regular here on the forums boast help :D

Thank you in front of me,
    Honza.

These scripts are coming within the installation of the Application (HCM in your case) under $PS_HOME/scripts/unix, it seems that you missed this step and installed only Peopletools.

  • Reference to the remote database

Is it possible to create a foreign key to a table where the primary key is in the remote database?
Remote database is related to the local database?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Actually, no. You create a trigger (before insert, update, delete) to maintain a referential constraint.

    Kind regards
