No sound on YouTube

I just updated my version of Flash Player at v12.0.0.43. I also use Firefox on Windows 8.1 26.0.

Since the update, I got no sound on YouTube. Other videos play fine (including those on the Firefox test page) and IE works fine too.

I searched Google and until now have tried to roll back my Flash player so that Firefox and none of them worked. I also cleared my cache, checked my volume controls (you'd be surprised at how many times it is mentioned as a solution!) and the volume is on YouTube itself.

None of them seem to work.

Any ideas?

As I said, I was able to play any other video in a browser and they all work. Simply not YouTube.
I use YouTube a bit to upload my own videos, so I'd like to get this working.

Hello
I just thought that I'll let you know it worked. It was the all things Java.
Thanks a lot for all your help anyway.

  • Headset does not and I can't hear any sound on youtube.

original title * headset not working not

I woke up this morning thinking that she's going to be a sunny day until I made that I can't hear any sound on youtube.
Now, my reaction was to unplug my headphone to my audio jack cable and plug it in again. And then catalyst SHOULD be launched and has notified me that my headset was plugged. But it does not. Then, I realized that my plug in microphone works very well with my microphone. Which was good.
BUT I noticed that the ONLY way for my "playback devices" figurentsur helmet was if I moved a little left cable into the audio input jack, my headphones would work, but only my right side of the helmet. But as soon as I stopped to put pressure on the left to my cable DISCONNECTED headphones and I had to do it all again. Now, I don't know if it's because of my Windows I installed yesterday WINDOWS 8.1 PRO or because my helmet AND my audio jack are *... Also it does not with another helmet either. So any help from ANYONE, I would be really grateful if I could hear again...

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

The question is limited to the YouTube Web site?

Sound problems can be caused by cables that are not connected properly, damaged drivers, incompatible drivers, sound settings, missing updates and problems with your sound card.

I suggest you to external speakers as peripheral by default and check if that helps:

    1. In the area of notification of taskbar beside the date and time system, right click on the speaker icon and select playback devices.
    2. In the sound dialog box that is displayed on the playback tab, click speakers/headphones playback device to select it and activate the buttons below.
    3. Click Properties, and then in the speakers/headphones Properties dialog box that appears, under the Advanced tab, click default settings.
    4. Click apply or OKand you're good to go until you try to reconnect the headphones or speakers.

If the problem persists, try the steps in the Microsoft Help article and check if it helps to solve the problem:

  • No sound on YouTube videos since I updated from Flash Player. Anyone got a fix?

There is no sound on the videos from YouTube and videos on any other site that uses Flashplayer. Audio is well on sites that don't use Flashplayer. Have tried to reset Firefox, as well as the removal and reinstallation of Flash Player, but without success.

Thank you, but I had already checked the stuff related to the sound and figured out that the problem had to do with the plugin Adobe Flash Player (aka Shockwave Flash). I finally solved it by uninstalling Flash Player (using a special tool is downloaded by Adobe), the deletion of a bunch of files created by Flash Player in various locations on my computer and reinstall Flash Player. Instructions on how to do this can be found here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

YouTube video plays fine, but not sound. The symbol of the speaker in the youtube window has a small "x" in front of it (muted?) which does not change when I click on it. Vimeo and other actors work very well.

  • The sound on Youtube repeats in about half a second then several voices

The audio on YouTube starts, then about half a second later the same sound again so both play at the same time. It is so distorted I can't sound for one of the videos.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance/themes).

  • Is no longer able to hear sound on youtube videos

Since upgrading to Firefox 23.0.1, I noticed that I had intermittent problems with no audio in Youtube videos. I've since discovered that, if I go on youtube for a video, there is no audio. The strange thing about it, however, if the video is linked through a forum, and I look at what he built through this forum, it works fine.

Other video sites (test site linked in the FAQ and videos on mozilla.org) work well. If I open the youtube video in IE, it works fine.

I tried the search of these forums and the internet in general, but I don't see something similar.

Issue seems to be specific to Flash. When I set my defaults to HTML5, any video which launches via HTML 5 works fine in Firefox. It is only when the video try to run via Flash that I had problems.

I crossed and uninstalled the flash plug-in and removed the flash from the PC, then did a clean reinstall. Whatever the problem, it is left for a new install of flash.

  • I just installed firefox 4. I have windows 7 and IE 9 0n my computer / problem is NO sound on youtube videos. Upgrade to the latest adobe. Help?

    No sound on anything whatsoever.

    See:

You can click on the Volume icon in the Windows taskbar near the clock and click on the link to mix down to open the mixing console.

You can adjust the volume level for each application in this window, so make sure that Firefox is not set to mute or set at a low level.

You will see only the Firefox program in the mix if you are on a website that plays sound.
