  • Impossible to change the path for the shared virtual machines

    Hello

as long as user root, in the Preferences menu, shared, VMs when I change the location and

    (1) push apply 1 time, the path is created in the right place on the hard drive but when I want to share a virtual machine and move toward this path, the default path is the default: / var/lib/vmware... not the one created by the menu setting.

Cannot change the location for the shared virtual machines.

    (2) push apply several times: odd error menu

Any ideas?  Is this a way to manually change the path in a config file?

  • The best location for the .vswp file

I use RecoveProint EMC to replicate my virtual machine for use with MRS. While the implimentaion of EMC RecoverPoint recommended that we allocate a hard sepperate for pagefile guest on a non replicated operating system LUN as the page file on the guest has been constantly evolving.  We have seen a significant reduction in the rate change that enabled us to reach the RPO we were after and with our bandwidth allocated for replication.  I am able to reproduce the LUN for the swap of OS files once and leave.   I'm utilizeing now the option "Migrate storage" with in VCenter to consolidate the VM running on a given LUN and I noticed that when I move a hard to the BONE (not hard for the OS swap) two hard files are transferred to the new location.  Then I discovered that to move one of the files hard for a given virtual machine I have to turn off the virtual machine and to migrate the only hard.  Not perfect, but whatever. To do this, I noticed that the "VM workplace" has been changed to the location of my guest operating system swap file hard.

It asked if it is a good place for hosting the .vswp.  The .vswp has a significant amount of change as well?  And as the OS swap hard matches the basically wiped clean during a restart?

    Hope it makes sense.

The .vswp file is created on the virtual machine market. Its size is equal to the amount of UNRESERVED vRAM. This means that if you have a virtual machine with 4 GB of vRAM, but 3 GB is reserved, the .vswp is 1 GB. The .vswp is used as a last resort, if there is a physical RAM memory conflict. It is called after the transparent page sharing or balooning. If you allocate no more of RAM physical vRAM, then it will never be used. BUT, it is removed turn off power and created on the power. If the virtual machine is always on, so no worries with a bandwidth of replication.

You can place files .vswp on local storage or a separate logical unit number. As Andrew said, you can make this a whole cluster framework if you want. It's all about management. If you are comfortable with it being separated from the .vmx, nvram, etc.. Usually, the concern is the amount of what is essentially lost a costly LUN disk, so it is moved to the cheaper SCSI disk. Assuming that there is no oversubscription of RAM, it will never be used. Rather than taking up valuable disk space, why not just use a reserve of memory in order to avoid its use definitely?

  • How can I change the looks of Access Infrastructure Web location for the virtual machine files?

How can I change the looks of Access Infrastructure Web location for the virtual machine files?

My default is set to MACHINES C:\VIRTUAL.  But I want to change it to turn to an external drive connected with an eSata cable. Can I do this?

    Hello

Add just like a new data store.

Login to your web access, select your host (not the virtual machines) in the left menu.

You should see a link on the right side with "Add data store", give it a name of store and add the directory.

Now, you can add a virtual machine to this place.

    Good luck!

  • Possible security for the Web-based Configuration

My colleagues and I found something very interesting today... Despite having configured the FTP security settings (which have been confirmed to set up and in funcitoning. I can't open an FTP session to our remote target without specifying a username admin and the password) If you open the configuration tool based OR web in a browser, you can send via FTP to and from the target using the file remote browser without being connected to all! Everyone knows this?

Apparently, these permissions are separate from FTP, but you can define these special permissions on the page of the security configuration for the web-based configuration utility.

  • Location of the data connection

On my laptop, the login data (and I guess that the stored passwords) is stored in
    C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\SQL Developer\system3.0.04.34\o.ide.11.1.1.4.37.59.31\projects

Is it possible to put this information somewhere else? (for example. Q:\)

I would like to encrypt data with TrueCrypt

Well, if your request is to move only the stored connections/passwords file then the answer is no, but if you're fine move SQLDeveloper set directory, you can set the following parameter

    AddVMOption-Dide.user.dir=path/to/desired/dir

    in the sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.conf file

This will result in all systemXXXXXX with all it's content created in the new location (you then need to copy the old directory to the new location manually).

  • Correct location for the ADF - settings.xml?

What is the correct location for the adf ADF - settings.xml in JDev 11 g applications file? Documentation conflicted says:

    (1) as by Frank & Lynn Oracle Fusion Developer Guide pg 92, it appears in the correct location for the ADF - settings.xml is < workspace >/.adf/META - INF.

    (2) according to the ADF Web Guide, it seems, it must be < workspace > / < project > / META-INF: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/web.1111/b31973/ap_config.htm#BABCBJAB

Which is correct? With our thanks,

    DMI

    Chris,

the recommendation to create the ADF - settings.xml in the project source META-INF directory solves the problem of two projects to be used in a single workspace. If the two projects use ADFc MDS got confused. Notes version in R1 mentioned as follows:

If your J2EE ADF (EAR) application contains several modules web application (WAR files) and contains more than one ADF task flows, then you can get unexpected behavior due to the web application using another its flow XML file with the same name of task (the problem is more likely to occur with the adfc config.xml file because each web application has usually one). You can avoid this problem by defining a 'root web application' separate for each web application (WAR). Web application at most one cannot have any parameters of root web app. To set the "web app root" for an application, you must add an XML file called META-INF/adf - settings.xml to WAR under WEB-INF/classes with content as follows:

    +
    xmlns:WAP = "http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/share/http/config" >
    ++
    ++
    +
    +
    ++

The value of the rootName attribute can be any name that uniquely identifies the web application (war) within the overall application (ear).

In JDeveloper, the new file can be added as follows:

+ 1. Expand the web application project in the browser Application.
+ 2. Right-click on "Sources of the Application", and then select the item 'new ' +.
+ 3. Select "XML Document" and click OK.
    + 4. Type "adf - settings.xml ' under the file name +.
+ 5. Click on the "Browse" button, select the source directory of the project, click the iconic button "Create a new subdirectory" at the top right, type "META-INF" directory name and click OK, then click Select.
    + 6. You should now have a directory and file name "adf - settings.xml ' name '/META-INF +.
+ 7. Click OK to create the new file.
+ 8. In the Source Editor, paste in the XML file above and put a value appropriate for the rootName attribute (this is known as the parameter 'root web application').
+ 9. Make sure that the deployment for the Web application profile includes the new file META-INF/adf - settings.xml under WEB - INF / classes.

So, if your application has a single web project then this configuration as documented in the book is good to use. To avoid the problem described above (which is in response to bug 8395585) you set it in the project's source. Note that adding adf - setting.xml in the project was presented as a work-around. The bug is closed with a fixed rate per 11.1.1.2, which means that, since the PS2 there should be no need to store the ADF - settings.xml in the source of the project more.

So long answer that leads to a simple answer: the book is good and the documentation lists always bypass it. However, I'll fill a bug against documentation and make report understand (do not have the time to check the issue being fixed)

  • Incomplete reference of connection for the scott connection object

    Hello

my application works fine in JDev 11.1.2.1 when deployed to integrated WS
at the same time to the stand-alone deployment, I see an error:
Incomplete reference of connection for the scott connection object
    Houston-26061 something wrong with JDBC

the connection that Scott is defined as a data source
    where can be a problem?

John is right. Configure the jdbc data source in wls and reference him module of your application configuration.
If you look at the example of my blog and check the configuration, you will see that I have to refer to as "jdbc/DDH" jdbc data source My WLS I put in place since a data source with exactly this pointing to the BD JNDI name I want.

  • Moving the virtual computer configuration file and work on the clone of the model

Using the VirtualMachineRelocateSpecDiskLocator to move disks from different NFS data warehouses when cloning a model looks very good work.  However, the Virtual Machine configuration file and the location of work remain on their original NFS data storage, not moving with the root of the drive.

If this move not all together, or am I missing a step here?

    Thank you

    Scott

Specifying the "data store" in VirtualMachineRelocateSpecDiskLocator specifies the location of the VM virtual disks only. To move the virtual machine, it might also be necessary to specify "datastore" property of "VirtualMachineRelocateSpec. If this is not specified, the current data store is used to store the files of the virtual computer.

You are the person who initially set the password for your wireless (WPA or WPA2?) or it's a long string of characters (WEP)? --> who is he?  WEP, WPA or WPA2?

You need to connect to your wireless router and reset  Of course - you will need the router password (no password wireless.)

Or - you can reset the router (according to the owner's manual) and set it up again.

  • What is the default location for the cache?

I made the mistake to change my default location for the cache for Adobe Bridge and now I want to change it back... but I can not find the folder or know the path.

    Hi lorenkahle

    • Navigate to C:\Users\"Your user name' \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CC\Cache (Windows)

    / User/Library/Caches/Adobe Bridge CC/Cache / (MAC)

Bridge Cache in the Cache folder.

You can set it to this place

    • If this does not help, you can reset bridge default preferences that will change the location of the cache.

For so press and hold the CTRL, ALT, Shift (Windows) / Cmd + Option + Shift (MAC) during the start-up of bridge and make check reset preferences, and then click Ok
