  Just move them to your regular Windows Explorer or anything on a Mac. Then change your site definition to point to the new location.

  I have recently moved most of my image containing folders on external hard drive. In general, everything works smoothly in Lightroom (running latest CC). However, if I try to use an external editor of in Lightroom, I managed opening image in Photoshop CC if it is chosen. However, if I try to edit in a NIK Collection programs (i.e. Viveza 2) or affinity Photo I get error messages. The copy of Tiff is generated within lightroom, but at the spearhead of the external editor the following messages are met...

  • Viveza 2 - 'News file. Plist could not be opened"

  However, if I move the folders containing images of problem on my desktop (iMAC 27 2015) in Lightroom external editor command change... works very well. The images open with Nik Collection and Photo of affinity and save in Lightroom when save. Everyone knows about this problem? And if you have, is there a resolution?

  Looks like I solved my problem with Lightroom. I disassembled my external backup drive, but upheld the disk external drive containing the photos up and then restarted my mac. After the reboot, I open Lightroom and chose the image on an external drive for mounting in affinity Photo and Collection of Nik. Both image successfully opened in editors. I reassembled the backup drive and rebooted time machine and repeated the same opening picture in external editors. Once again, works great. Have no idea where the original problem. Looks like a bad path was stored in a config somewhere file.

  The motherboard on my old Windows Vista 64 - bit is dead. The hard drive is still accessible. I bought a new PC with Windows 7 and installed Firefox. I find the.default file for Firefox on the old drive hard and copied and pasted in my new profile on my new hard drive. The old hard drive is connected to my new PC with an external hard drive enclosure. I tried looking for in my old profile user Firefox hard disk of old. I do this by clicking on my old username, go to Program Files (x 86) and only one program file that I found for DNA. Firefox has been installed on my old PC, so I'm surprised that I can't find what it listed under Program Files (x 86) on this drive. If I search the old drive for 'signet', it evokes my bookmarksbackup and other files of bookmarks '.json '. I tired bookmarksbackup copy for my new Firefox profile on the new hard drive and it seems to work, but the old bookmarks do not appear when I open Firefox. I looked at the links troubleshooting for the same problem that others have posted, but they seem irrelevant, because I can't find the sqlite or the directory where my old Firefox settings are stored on my old hard drive.   Firefox settings are not stored in program files, but they are stored under APPDATA.

  If you take the newer JSON file you have, open Firefox, press Control, Shift and B at the same time, then go to "Import and backup" then 'restore', then choose file, you can import it like this?

  Do yourself a favor, with the old drive connected externally, in the browser, simply copy the data files to the location of Documents of the PC win7. You can not copy programs, they need to be reinstalled from media origonal. You can copy all the downloaded files instalation

  You may be able to recover your data files, but I hope that you will set up your new system to automatically backup a second internal hard drive or an external USB hard drive.

  This suggestion may not work, but it's worth a try. Buy an external USB drive enclosure. They come in two sizes 2.5 "for the portable computer drives and 3.5" for desktop disks. You can purchase adapters for 3.5 "envelopes so that they can also be used with a portable player. Place the hard drive in the enclosure and connect to a USB port of another computer. Several hard disks are more able to start, but the contents of the disc can still be accessed, read and copied from the disk because you do not use the operating system on a failed disk.

  You will need the catalog file and all your images. If you have also stored your images on which crashed HDD you will need to copy them as well.

  The default location of the LR catalog file is in your user name folder in the folder on the ROOT of the drive users
