Location of the HARD drive on satellite A30

Can someone tell me please how to access the HARD drive on a laptop satellite A30? I searched everywhere and can not work on how to remove the HARD drive.

Hi Mitch,

The hard drive on your A30 is in the optical drive. Turn your laptop over and remove the screw F5. This will allow the scanner to be slid toward the front of the laptop and you will then be able to see the hard disk set with four cross-head'screws (2 on each side). Remove the four screws and push the hard drive toward the front of the laptop to disconnect the connection to the motherboard.

Kind regards

  • Where Outbox.dbx is located on the hard drive

Have a damaged Outbox (Microsoft Outlook running on the Vista OS) folder.  Microsoft told to search the hard drive for Outbox.dbx and delete it, and then restart Outlook will automatically create a new Outbox folder.

I tried several ways and places that you do not find the extension of networks on the hard drive.  Anyone know where this folder is located.  I'm not a problem solver sophisticated, so please give me as much of the detailed information that you can.  Thank you.

Outlook uses PST files. Outlook Express uses the DBX files. This is the way to correct a corrupt OE shipping box, but I don't know about an Outbox of Outlook. I suggest that you ask the experts Forum Outlook here.

    Hi people

I have a laptop L300 and the hard drive is about to give up.

My question is if I replace the hard drive with a new one I'll be able to get it up and running so I use the recovery disk I have Toshiba?

Yes, you can use the recovery disk to reinstall the system once more.
The use of the recovery disc will set the laptop back to factory settings.

  • Photo location on the hard drive: how to find the path?

How can we easily and immediately find the path to that photo resides on their hard drive?

By easy, I mean without having to open Windows Explorer, I found the controls but that is a very slow method and heavy approach to essential basic, common and repetitive.

Hover over the path of the file in the metadata Panel.

Or look in the folders Panel.  You can configure the Panel folders as a hierarchy, as if it were on the hard drive, if that helps.

    Hi Gary,.

on the new laptops, it's especially easy to remove the drive HARD, but on a Satellite 1730, it is quite difficult! A laptop is very sensitive and built up to complex, so maybe you could damage it something!

  • HP dv6-1360us Question about the location of the hard drive

    Hello

I was wondering if someone could help me by telling me that if there is a way to know how many slots hard drive there in my computer laptop dv6-1360us.

I'll probably buy a player in solid state, and I would use it as a boot drive and keep the original hard drive as storage only. Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance,

    D.

Here are the specifications of your HP Pavilion dv6-1360us Entertainment Notebook computer. Here is the list of HP Pavilion dv6 Entertainment PC - Maintenance and Service of Guide under "Manuals", but it seems to be incorrect for your computer. This HP Pavilion dv6 Entertainment PC - Maintenance and Service Guide lists at least the correct CPU series for your model. According to this manual, your computer supports a hard drive only (Chptr 1, Pg 4 Description of the product).

  • Partitioning the hard drive on Satellite L300D

    Hi all.

I have a L300D series and I'm going to restore it, but I want to change the size of the backup partition. The current configuration is the C drive is 74.3 drive GB and D GB 73.2.
Is anyway to change sizes. The recovery program is also on the D drive.
    Thank you. waynybob

At first, I must say that I hope that you created the recovery DVDs. You can use this recovery for the new installation of the OS.
You're right, recovery image is saved on the D partition, but you can use it with the factory only settings.

With other words, after change of sheets you won't be able to use it more, so it is very important to have this disc restore DVD.
After the clean OS install, you can change the partition structure.

  • Can't reformat the hard drive on Satellite 1100, OS = XP (Service Pack 2)

This laptop is about 5 years old and is extremely slow. I saved everything and tried to reformat the drive several times with the product recovery CD but nothing works.

I'm the procedure as shown on the CD case, i.e.

    1. Insert the #1 disk in the CD-Rom drive
2 turn on the PC by holding down the 'C' key
    3. follow the instructions that appear on the screen

When I turn on the PC in the 'C' key with CD in the machine emits a strong constant beep and a cursor appears on the screen. No instructions appear however. As soon as I let go of 'C' the computer starts normally.

If I do not 'c' pressed without instructions appear on the screen and the computer load XP as usual.

I thought that maybe I would need to adjust BIOS settings via F2 and F12 as soon as the computer is on but by changing a setting in the 'boot from CD' makes no difference.

    Am I missing something?

    Jim

Everything you do is just fine. Can you please try to use another bootable CD and see if the same thing happen?

Maybe there at - there some problem with recovery CD1. Also do stupid test and start it with CD2. Somewhere on this forum I found to report about false labelling CD.

  • Satellite L300-110 - how to recover without losing any data on the HARD drive?

    Hi all
    I have a Toshiba Satellite L300-110

The question is how can I recover my laptop with the recovery DVD without losing all the data located in the hard drive?

I confirm the information published by Luke.
The HARD drive and all other partitions should be formatted using the recovery disk.
Why? The recovery disc sets the laptop to factory settings and to this end, the HARD drive must be formatted first.

That is why it s is strongly recommended to back up the data if you want to use the recovery disk.

  • Copy the files from the flash drive on the hard drive but I don't want to copy the files I already have.

I have Windows XP.  I have a flash drive with many files that I have on my second hard drive.  I just it copies the files that I have on the hard drive and I don't want to have to sit and answer 'yes' or 'no' question about the replacement of files each time that it recognizes a file duplicate. How do I do that?

When you see this double prompt or not, are there not a checkbox that says something like "Always do this for all files" or something in that sense?

You can manually copy the files. Here is the CTRL key while you click the files you want and then just drag them to the location on the HARD drive.
  • Upgrade the HARD drive, memory and display on Satellite A30 921 driver

I got a model a30-921, satellite phone for two years now. I would ask someone who could help me how to put my hard drive from 40 to the majority and the memory to 1 g. and also where can I find the latest driver for ati mobility radeon igp 9000.

Thank you and looking forward to here from you soon.

    Hi Remelito,

I use a 80 GB hard drive in my SA30 and I suspect it would probably work with a 100 GB drive. However, as portable hard drives tend to suffer ruptures busiest I think their close office 80 GB is perfectly o.k. for me. I tend to have 25-30 GB used with the rest of the temporary files during editing of the videos etc. The hard drive in the A30 is usually under the optical drive to remove all first in order to access the hard drive.

Your A30 can be upgraded to a maximum of 2 GB of RAM in two slots. Currently, you will have 2 X 128 MB or 2 X 256 MB modules of RAM installed. You can get the modules of memory in the sizes of 128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB or 1 GB. the following URL provides information on reference numbers (the United Kingdom site), but you can Google for a suitable provider.

Toshiba unfortunately do not provide regular updates to their display drivers (at least in my experience). Like you, I have an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000IGP in my SA30 and I resorted to a driver Omega catalyst in order to play newer games. I ran this Omega driver for many months now with still no Bul. You can obtain this driver from: -.

  • Satellite A30 PSA30E - BIOS does not recognize the HARD drive

    Hi all
I have a Satellite A30 (PSA30E) and I start the computer. When I enter the BIOS it does not recognize the hard drive.
Does anyone no what I can do?
Is it possible to restore the BIOS?

    Thank you

    Hello

You replaced the HARD drive by a new one or the BIOS don't recognize the old HDD?

Usually if the laptop is not able to start and that the BIOS does not see the old HDD then I guess that the HARD drive is faulty.
If the BIOS doesn't recognize the inserted new HARD drive and then either you ve bought is not compatible, or the size of the HARD drive is just too big.

Please provide more info. You see error messages?

you have a problem with my satellite A30 - hard drive has been corrupted (due to accumulation of dust on the cpu!) and I replaced it with a 100 GB hard drive.
Tried the 'recovery cds', but get an error message 'error #1537 file greater than 4 billion number' and recovery has been abandoned halfway after inserting the third cd. The XP Home operating system does not install completely. Any suggestions?
Thank you very much for your help, has soon

    Hello

already tried the recovery process more then once? If so, the error appears at the place of installation? You said that you have installed a new hard drive but actually you have formatted the hard drive before you perform a full restore? That would be really helpful, sometimes recovery is suspended because the disk formatted or partitioned before luckily.

You should really try. One way would be to use the "UBCD4Win' which is a Windows Live CD with really good tools. Format your hard drive with this CD and retry the recovery. Maybe it works...

    Here´s the link to the CD "UBCD4WIn": www.ubcd4win.com ".
