Lock desktop upward

After about 5 minutes, I'm unable to click on and load the programs on the desktop - the desktop is frozen. I can still use the taskbar to load programs.

The Pc is a laptop HP running under that Vista recently reinstalled due to hard drive failure - new HD. Two users - the user's second office runs smoothly

Hi Veritas99,

Method 1: You must first try to check and safe mode if the problem persists.

Follow this link provided below to start your computer in safe mode.

Method 2: If the problem does not recur, then I recommend you perform the clean boot.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: After a repair, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

Thank you, and in what concerns:

System Restore, still blocked, thought I hit lock the computer when stopping down.

To unlock the computer, all you have to do is log in using the same user name you used when you locked the computer and you should be fine.  If that does not work, so where are you stuck?  Is he says the system is locked and he gives you options to unlock (normally it shows a screen with the user name of the person who has locked with a place to enter the password, and then click OK to open and enter the system)?  How do you know that the system is locked specifically?  In the Welcome screen (can you connect)?  Or is it time that the computer starts and you find that you can't do anything?  Do you get messages and if so what do say EXACTLY (Word for Word)?

This lock is mixed with the screen saver settings to verify all the three steps below.

1 set the screen saver - Panel, customize, Screensaver [in the lower right corner of the window]. You can change the idle time for the screensaver to start and also set / clear the check box if you need / is not necessary to connect again after it activates.

You must then set / clear the part connection of this setting in the two

  • Cannot use the desktop background image.

original title: wallpaper image disappeared. Now, there is just a solid color, any image is selected as the backdrop.

This has happened a couple of months, and I tried to reset my computer to last start successfully so far, but without any result. Selective restart does not work either. Any photo I select, no background will stick. All I see is a solid color. I noticed that when I connect to my computer that for a fraction of a second the background image will reappear immediately after as I click login, but will disappear when the office.

Anyone know why this is happening or what I can do about it? There must be a solution to this, or at least a reason why he does. My computer works under XP, is said by the way.

Now, select arrange icons by and uncheck "Web Lock Desktop items" if she has a little check mark next to it. If you did not have a tick here and then right click on your my computer icon and view its properties, now click on the Advanced tab click the button settings running. Now on the Visual Effects tab scroll effects to 'use the shadows of the desktop icon labels' and put a tick in the box next to it, and then click ok. Hello Henry

The list in two steps below are users in another thread about the same exact issue. Try the steps suggested, let me know they help. Thank you.

    Mysoul

Hi there, have you tried? Click with the right button on a blank space on your desktop, highlight the icons on the desktop, check on "locking up icons" and organize the uncheck'auto?

    or

    securityguy14

When you say "LOCK icon on my desktop items" I assume you mean to stop to rearrange a reboot? If that's what you mean, so just copy paste then whats below into Notepad, then click on "file > save under...". "in the part superior, save it to the desktop. When you save the 'Save as type' change to 'Documents text (*.txt)' to 'All Files' and name it anything with a .reg extension. Close everything and then click on the file and select "merge". also, you want to make sure to add the part "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00".» This registry setting records the position of items on the desktop when you turn off

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
    "NoSaveSettings" = hex (3): 00, 00, 00, 00

Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk...
