Lock screen has changed

This isn't a huge problem, and I don't know if it was an update or if I changed it in the settings or if someone else has that

the lock screen used to look like "droid lock 1" and now it looks like «droid lock 2 "»

Sorry for bad quality on the 2nd picture... If u can't see it, the first lock is like a bow. The second lock is straight

The lock screen has changed when the OTA is out the month last around 11. But it seems that you have added a different wallpaper.

    Original title: locking error screen

Hello. I use Win 8 Pro x 64 and I'm having a problem affecting the lock screen wallpaper. I am the admin of the machine and Windows is activated.

After a few days ago, Windows stopped to change my lock screen background. When I try to change it, the error is displayed on the screen:

    LOCK SCREEN ERROR

Setting the lock screen has failed. Please try again.
However, I can still change my profile picture and the bottom of the start menu.
Other users of the computer can change the lock screen normally. My user account is linked to my Outlook.com account as well as others.
I already tried the other 'solutions' out there: in doing a selective startup with msconfig, disable services applications at startup and also manually delete the folder "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\SystemData". Needless.
I also have the feeling of other users on the web: it's somehow connected to some Windows updated published these days.
I would appreciate any help on this matter.

Hi, Tadasha. Thanks for the reply.

In regards to KB 2770917 updates, I already installed it on my Win 8 as well as others (I keep the OS always up to date). So it has not really helped but thanks.
On the tip of the gob0nkers is not really the case here, because I don't want to set a wallpaper of single lock for each user (in fact I had already read his answer to the question of ch). So far I have found no article on the web by offering an effective way to work around the problem.
What I've done: created another user profile and abandoned the old (who introduced the problem). I think that it is related to the file the user AppData or something.
So far things are working well with the new profile of the user.
    Thanks for the help!
  • "Setting the lock screen has failed, try again later."

I have problem when trying to change my lock screen and my account picture... When I try to change it, the error pops out saying that

"Setting the lock screen has failed, try again later."

Already looking for a solution to the internet, but all this does not at all... So I just hope that this community will help me with this problem...

    The screenshot of the error:

    Hi Sam,

I apologize for the delay in response.

It is unfortunate that your problem is still not resolved. I would suggest trying the following methods and check to see if they help.

Method 1: Use the registry editor

    1. Press on the key of the Windows Logo + R.
    2. Type regedit.
    3. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/Desktop/NameSpace.
    4. Find the key: {B4FB3F98-C1EA-428d-A78A-D1F5659CBA93}.
    5. Double-click on the default value in the right pane and the value on others.

If this does not resolve your problem, there are corruptions in the system folders. I try to check the use of method 2.

    Method 2: Scan SFC

Verification of the file system (CFS) is a utility built into the operating system that will check for the corruption of system files. The sfc/scannow command. (System File Check) analyzes the integrity of all protected operating system files and replaces incorrect versions, damaged, altered, or damaged with correct versions where possible.

To do this please follow the article below

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833/en-us

Just reply with SFC scan results.

Hope this information was useful. Please answer with the results and if you need help or have any other questions about Windows, we are here to help.

I use Win 7. You have no more Vista.

    Here's what I can remember...
    Reset your DPI:
Right-click on an open office space > Persoanlize > column to the left, there is an option to change the DPI > click it > click Customize > use the cursor to return to 125 scale.

I hope that my memory is good enough.

I think this changed when I started using my iphone and sync-ed were contact (I'm sure that's not a Word) with the iphone.  But it could just be a coincidence.

There should be an option on "customize this folder".  Click on that and then you can change customization of Contacts.

  • Login screen has changed

My computer is running XP Media Center Edition. Normally, the login screen is similar to that of XP Home Edition, when you select your account in a blue screen. Now it has changed to look like the login screen of XP Professional, where a window in the center of the screen prompts you to enter a user name and a password in both text boxes. No recent system changes have been except Napster uninstalling and deleting lots of music files. What happened to the login screen, and how can I change this back?

  • My screen has changed and text boxes suddenly around all topics and elements of the screen?

Weak black lines/boxes suddenly appear and now all the texts and the major portions of the screen are surrounded by lines. My guess is that it's a setting either FF or Microsoft. If so I have not found. HG

    You can attach a screenshot?

    • Use a type of compressed as PNG or JPG image to save the screenshot
    • Make sure you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

  • HP15 r014tx: recently, I upgraded my 8 GB ram, whenever I play games the screen has changed to green color

Please help me solve the very question that the bios screen slows the blue green screen is a software or a hardware problen or is it all possible means tried ram problem

    karthik2949

If the PC worked OK with the old RAM and you give only a screen green with the new RAM, as banhien suggested, it is more likely incompatible RAM, or maybe faulty RAM.

What you need to do, is remove all the RAM in the computer and then restart with one stick at a time, this will tell you what stick is faulty.

IF the PC starts ONLY with either the old or the new RAM, then the new RAM RAM is incompatible with the old RAM and you can not use them together.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

Opening in the sidebar is the default value for the bookmarks created via a link or a button on a Web site.
You can view the properties of a bookmark using the context menu in the side bar (Ctrl + B).
In the Bookmark Manager (Bookmarks > show all bookmarks) you can click on the button more in the lower details pane on the right.
Make sure "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" is not selected.
