  I need to do a validation of date (if the format is 'YYYYMMDDHH24MISS') in the oracle table that has millions of records. Currently, invalid format files are pushed into a separate table. I use a function and procedure that does this task, but it takes 1 min for 1 million files which is very expensive.
  
  Kindly let me know if we have any other alternative that will give a better Performance? or refine bleow queries to make it efficient.

  I did experiences autour with big collect in GR 11, 2...

  I have millioms of files with very large tables.

  In fact, my question is this. How do you use bulk collect when you have millions of records?

  Everytime I try to use it for bulk collect into, I have run out of memory.

  So should I stick with the SQL engine when it comes to manipulate millions

  folders? Is maninly bulk collect for insert, updates to use for applications?

  Summer banging my head for awhile with it. Can a Pl/SQL pro if you please

  In most cases SQL insert/update engine will end up more quickly then PL/SQL select + Insert/Update. Normally, you would use PL/SQL, if there is a complex logic that is based on calculations of several rows that can be easily made in SQL. If you must use BULK COLLECT many or / and wide lines, you can divide it into segments using LIMIT.

  As far as I know Toshiba didn't offer any update for Qosmio Player preinstalled on the Qosmio notebooks. I know that Toshiba has released the new version and offered it with Qosmio F30.
  This new version has the option to record and for the installation of the Qosmio player, it is necessary to have about 5 GB of free space on the HARD disk.

  I tried to install the update for Windows Vista KB980248 but receive the error Code:80070017

  "There was a similar issue, published with the proposed solution, being (1)" run the Chkdsk.exe too check the drive for errors"and 2" rename the download folder.  The two were not successful.

  I also tried a number of different methods as suggested by MS technical support (see below), but none succeeded, so I hope someone else has also encountered this problem and has a solution.

  The steps I've already done: clean boot. downloaded and installed the update manually; high my privileges as a user profile; Services activated window important; disabled user account control; Run the component tool to reset Windows Update in default; Not Windows Installer and then re-recorded Windows Installer; use the System File Checker. installed the updated system preparation tools.

  After reading the process to carry out a repair for Vista installation, I was not confident I could do given my lack of COMPUTER skills and feared that I would have done something wrong.  But while browsing the site there are other suggestions that I adopted. For example, I downloaded Registry Booster, ran the System File Checker (which I had already done but thought, no harm to do again), and other suggestions are in response to similar questions like mine.  I also ran an another Chk Dsk (I also run this previously).  To restart, as he was driving through the verification process, he said,' windows replaced bad cluster in file name \window\winsxs\x8A9C8~1.226\ 8915cambria.ttc'.  And I was happy, because it was the file you advised has been damaged.  I don't know exactly how it happed, as I said, I had perfomred chk dsk a numer of times before.  I was successfully able to install the update for Window Vista KB980248!  I was so happy after all the anxiety.

• Windows XP svchost.exe problems. Cannot find the latest updates for windows xp.

  Hello, this is my first time on the Microsoft Community page.

  I have a very strange problem with automatic updates svchost.exe and windows. I know that automatic update of windows, has been known to cause problems on XP and there is thus CPU utilization of memory leaks. Last night, I tried to install the latest windows XP updates, with automatic tool. The tool hanged during the process. Not sure why exactly. I never had a problem with it. I've been running Xp SP 3 for more than five years. In any case, I rebooted my system and checked to see if the updates actually treatment. They do not have. Then I went to the windowsupdate.microsoft site. I was trying to these updates. The scan never completed, he just constantly checked, for about 45 minutes. I decided to do some research. I found the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder "fix" online. He kicked, I renamed the file. And then disabled auto updates and restarted my computer. After windows starts, I re-activated automatic updates and waited. Nothing happened, so I did some research more. I noticed that svchost.exe uses about 25% the use of the processor. Normally my treated systemidle is 99%. I used Process explore and isolated the wuauclt.exe under the svchost.exe file. When I disable automatic updates executable, it is up to a full 99%.

  I'm not sure why it uses 25%, when I look at the actual use of the memory for the wuauclt.exe, it is only using about 17 k of memory. Which is quite low. I have not turned on microsoft update, starting in the configurations of parameters at windowsupdate. I know that in the past, that has been a problem and swallowed up system resources.

  Any advice would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

  There are a lot of threads on this forum - and many others - this problem - just try to do a Google search for UPDATES of XP SVCHOST - hits now more than 8 million.

  But to save you the trouble of tracking down the fix OK here is the short version

  1. disable automatic updates using Control Panel icon

  2. restart the computer - SVCHOST is now not going crazy

  3. check which version of Internet Explorer you have installed IE8, IE7 or IE6

  4. download and install - the links below - the good update for Internet Explorer.

  KB2898785 is the "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer" (December 10, 2013)

  There is a bug in the function of automatic update under XP running the SVCHOST process at full CPU load (100% or 50% or 25% depending on the number of CPU cores you have). If you have a Quad core CPU the bug works the CPU at 25% (a carrot out of four) and eventually battles through a conclusion - but if your computer is a single old Celeron or Pentium bug works the CPU chip at 100% load for many, many h/solid.

  If your computer is restarted when the BSOD appears, then you must change the by default for what to do in case of system error. It is easy to do, but takes a lot of mouse clicks to get there:

  I'll begin by apologizing for what is not exactly in the right part of this forum, but I couldn't find any more relevant place.

  In a sense, this refer to my Sony support or devices and technologies so please consider, not that I wish for this 'cirumvention"to be exploited, but included in a marketing point of view...

  What I was able to research, the only thing that prevents my 46HX800 TV series Bravia to accomplish the called function 'SimulView' is what called EDID code; a code sent via connection theHDMI let the system know if its on the 24 "display 3D Playstation... or Im guess right out; the new 84 "4K TV, its specific EDID code as well.

  I can send a 'fake' EDID apparently yet to accomplish SimulView on other Bravia devices, with the only detail that I need the most recent 3D glasses do run SimulView spltscreen (I don't want to cause trouble, but stress ONLY this can be done on other Bravia 240 Hz TVs).

  Now, being stock Sony currently is in the toilet and to put it politely, but they make the best audio and video products now... HANDS DOWN.  Wouldn't they still essentially selling the same number of 25 000 $84 inch 4K displays if they also updated the current technology of 240Hz TV Bravia to maintain a SimulView authorized EDID. that would create a second wave of additional new sales to get the new model of Sony 3D glasses.

  Although I doubt I'll ever spend $25 on what it is, and I really didn't have a males $ 60 - $70 extra around the installation... but Id find and pay for new shows to play in SimulView with my newphew dirty, rotten, screen-chetanest on my 46 "Bravia HX!

  In closing, to come up with one update for others lines of Bravia 'emit' to use the technology of SimulView only would create not secondary through new purchase 3D glasses, as well as a big boost to the confidence of some s Comsumer who was waining as of late... further increasing sales to other Sony and Sony is braded.

• Update for Windows 8 (KB2822241) fails to install and has the error Code 800703F1

  Greetings. My system Windows 8 found a major update, but it cannot install it. The update is called "Update for Windows 8 (KB2822241)." I try to install it and it installs and I see a screen that says:

  From there, I have the option to 'Try again', but when I try I always get the same result (error 800703F1). I already tried the Windows Update troubleshooting tool and whenever I run that he finds two problems and offers correct: "Repair Windows Update Database Corruption" and "repair the Windows Update components. I had it apply these patches every time, but the problem persists.

  I read about this setting by using the function "sfc/scannow", but oddly, when I try even in an elevated command prompt he also fails. It scans absolutely nothing and says: "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation."

  I know that I can normally solve the problem of update and the question of the SFC by resetting or refresh my PC via built-in tools of Windows 8, but I don't want to go through that, unless it's the only solution. System Restore didn't help, but it is an opportunity to reinstall some other updates.

  As it is, then, the problems persist: "Update for Windows 8 (KB2822241)" settles "sfc/scannow" cannot perform the operation and not I ask.

  For the record, my machine is a 900 Asus EeePC ha with an Intel Atom N270 CPU, 2 GB of RAM, and it is running 32-bit Windows 8.

• Best way to remove millions of records

  Just for my goal of learning, which should be the best way to remove records from the entire table containing millions of records, I know about truncate command, but is there any other way around?

  If you want to remove all the lines, then nothing can TRUNCATE TABLE for performance.  You cannot RESTORE a DML, as TRUNCATE TABLE operation, that's why it's so fast: he doesn't have to remember what has been deleted.  TRUNCATE TABLE will leave privileges, constraints, triggers, and intact the table storage parameters.

  In a multi record block, not the displayed items property has the value 10. In this block, an element is placed named current_rate (Number data type).
