  I need kind help because it seems to only work for the past 5 years with C wiped my knowledge of Java.

  I'm writing a small application which shows a login screen (with the text field, the password field and a connect button) and which returns the id and the password to the main class to allow him to check the ID and the pwd.

• I can't access to my XP because of the appearance of a login screen asking the password for 'HP_Owner.

  To try to speed up the time in takes to reach the desktop of my computer, I removed the login screen of Windows (with the default regular login screen).  What I was hoping, therefore, was that Windows would ignore the login screen and go directly to the screen, however, instead, the next time I start my computer, I received a box of connection with the username "HP_Owner" and a line of password that I don't know what to fill in with.  I remember when changed the settings done unchecking a box somewhere in the control panel under the default user name.  It is a family of PC, there is no need of passwords when we opened a session.  The computer is a HP Pavilion a830n and a desktop computer.  I think that the password should be the default value of the system.  The connection box also gives the opportunity to stop.   I can't believe this!  After all your hard work... and after all this writing I just send everyone!  It turns out that the only thing I have not tried pressing enter without touching anything!

  This should be the answer... at least, it has been resolved for me.

  When the password prompt "HP_Owner' to connect to Windows appears, simply tap your enter key, and it should connect!

  In Windows XP (prior to Windows Vista), a Service could be interactive and display a window/dialog on the login screen.

  Of course services are no longer allowed to be interactive, and certainly, I agree that it is an improvement in security.

  However, say if I wanted to do one of the following values, which is possible (and how to implement). I don't mind what language I have to set in.

  (1) add a button in the login screen that says "Reset Password" which will then invite a form with questions of security.

  (2) run an application within the login window

• Through router remote desktop connection gets login screen, but the administrator is the only option (windows 7 pro)

  I have a new windows 7 pro system which has been configured to host a remote desktop connection.  There are 1 user account (active admin), the port number was changed from 3389 and I think that the firewall is disabled (it's Norton Internet Security and I tried to completely disable the firewall).

  When I established a remote connection from another computer on the same subnet, the client asks for login/password and the connection ends and goes directly to the screen of the user.

  This subnet has an internet connection via a firewall or router.  It has been configured to redirect incoming connections for the custom to the host port number.

  When I establish a remote connection from outside through the firewall I am invited to login/password, but the Welcome screen appears and the only options are administrator and other users.  Administrator is blocked for the account restrictions and using other users to type the login and the password does not work - it still fails on bad login/password.

  I've seen this problem described in other forums, but have not seen a solution - anyone got one?

  Most laptops will give you the option to do nothing, sleep, Hibernate or stopping when you close the lid. End the session is not normally available. However, you can select the option that requires the user to enter a password when the machine is awake.

• I want to see the login screen, not the Welcome screen

  I have win 7 pro computers of a domain.  Suddenly, when I connect to tp computers laboratory after Ctrl/alt/del, I come to a screen with the last 'user' and an another icon named "other users".  This means that I have to select "other user", then I get to the screen that I feel like that was last entered user name, with the cursor in the password to enter the area.  He has also "change user" in the center of the page.  This is the page I want all machines to open up after Ctrl/alt/delete.  I tried various suggested 'fixed' and nothing solves my problem.  Why this extra screen is presented on some of my computers?
