Login screen Windows 7 flashing quickly after Windows Update

Hello everyone,

The updates after last night, I have about 40 PC with this question. PC starts to accommodate the screen then freezes and the screen flashes quickly. Same result when it is started in safe mode. All PCs are Dell Vostro 360 s. short of putting form all the I don't know what to do. Ctrl-alt-del does nothing. They are essentially disabled and glued to the fast flashing welcome screen. Looks like a problem with the video driver for me but I have no way to uninstall or install a new one.

Thanks for any help in advance!

  • Why does the login screen Windows continue reappear on my monitor?

I use Windows 7 Pro.  Until a few months ago, I couldn't leave my desktop PC on overnight.  As soon as I sat down and moved the mouse or tap a key on the keyboard, my screen saver would disappear and I could go right to work.  It was great!  Several months ago, a problem started that I describe.

Now, when I walk away from my PC for a few hours and return, I see the Windows login screen.   It is not all the time, but it produces most of the time.   My first step in tackling the problem was to check the settings of the screen Setter.  The bomber of the screen ("ribbons") is supposed to go after 12 minutes of inactivity.

There is a box to the right of this setting that says 'On Resume, display the login screen'.  This box is averified.

Then I adjusted to High Performance power settings.  PC display is Never set for when to turn off the screen and also never to when putting the computer to sleep.   I then changed the advanced power settings to try to remedy the problem.  I made sure the following settings are the following:

High Performance requires no password on wake up.

Turn off the hard drive at the end of 800 minutes

    The sleep settings:

    Sleep after = never

    Allow hybrid sleep = Off

    Hibernate after = never

    Enable timers wake = Disable

Turn off the display = never

Power button: Sleep button Action = Nothing

For security reasons, I usually use my PC as a standard user.  But the login screen Windows guard reappear after I leave my PC for a while if I run as a limited user or administrator of the master.

Can you give me some additional ideas on what I can do to remove the login screen Windows reappear after I leave my PC?

    Hello

Thank you for your reply with the requested information, sorry for the delay in response.

I suggest you follow the steps below:
    1. on your desktop "Windows + R" screen press button together press
    The Board of Directors.

    3. uncheck the box for "users must enter a user name and password
    This computer '.
    4. change the screen saver 'Ribbons' to something else for example
    'Bubbles '.
    5 restart the computer.
Now, check if the problem reappears.
Hope this helps, please answer with the results for assistance.

  • Mouse and keyboard does not not to login screen (Windows 7)

As far as I know, an update of windows was held last night. When I try to log on to my office (gateway), my keyboard and mouse (Logitech M310 K520) do not work. I tried to connect in safe mode, but still no luck. I can press F8 before it connects to enter advanced startup options. I went in the selection 'repair your computer', and my mouse and keyboard work fine. I tried a system restore, run the Diagnostics, memory windows and tried several reboots, but without any difficulty. I have tried other mice, tried different USB slots, but all have the same problems. They work very well until what the login screen and then do not respond.

Please let me know what are my options to resolve this problem. Would like to try more things on my own first of all, but I'm a bit of a novice in computer science.

  • Black screen with cursor, no login screen; Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit

    Hi all

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 running Win7 Home Premium 32 - bit with IE9. It worked perfectly fine for over a year. The last update listed in the system restore was on 23/04/2011. He installed the Windows updates.

My husband used the computer very well the next morning. When I tried to start the computer, it wouldn't so I thought that maybe the battery should be charged. I plugged it in and nothing helped. The load button wouldn't even nothing worked at all. I bought a new battery and it came yesterday. I changed the batteries and let one over new-completely. I then tried to start the computer and he did something I could not do in months... He ran the disk check.

The disk check lasted almost 2 hours. He wouldn't let me cancel it either. He said (from the pieces that I could see) that system files have been moved, a ton of them said that they have been replaced, others have been removed, and some have been updated. I knew not what do when it restarted because it did it is normal startup, showed at the Windows startup screen and then when I thought he was going to the login screen, it became black and only the cursor has been visible and moving.

I restarted again and this time the display of incorrect closing came. I tried all the options - normal mode, safe mode safe mode w/networking and safe mode w/prompt - all results were the same. Then I tried using the recovery tool to fix the problem. Startup Repair showed no problem, System Restore showed either deleted or corrupted files and I ran Windows Memory Diagnostic and it showed no problems. I even ran the Diagnostic tool in the start menu.

I think that chkdsk deleted my files of Windows, but I don't know how to get back them. I have the OS disk and tried to use the repair feature, but nothing yet. Also, I had to ask my husband did it to my laptop and he answered nothing. So I had to be more specific, and his answer to my questions were: ' I didn't download anything "and" I just closed the laptop, I never disconnected or shut it down. I guess that's the reason for the battery works not properly the next day.

If someone could help me with this, I would be very grateful.

    Hi Mr sang,

Systems on your network are joined to a domain?
If so, they use Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) to get their updates?

If you use WSUS, you should post your question in the forums found here WSUS:
    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/winserverwsus/threads

If you do not use WSUS, but your systems are on a domain, you should post your question in the forums Vista IT found here:

If the above do not apply, you find the same update white screen when you run updates under a new profile?
Also, if you connect to a user in safe mode account, you get the same results?

I've recently updated to 12.0.0.70 version of Shockwave flash on 27.1 FF and he broke my installation of FF. I get various errors depending on the site on which I try to use. I don't think that it is really a display problem: I can not ping the VM when it runs.

The same thing happens when I create a new virtual machine, Windows or Ubuntu. Looking at the VM Ubuntu after that I created a new and he suspended definitely seemed to be running: frozen screen was part of the Ubuntu installation, so he had certainly run pending. The update of software in question was not an update of the OS from memory, I think I kept the machine more up-to-date than that, but I can't be sure.

Any help is very appreciated, that completely prevent me from using VMware.

    Thank you very much!

    Heath

Have you tried to uninstall/reinstall VMware Fusion to try to see which solves the problem?

  • Slow RAZR battery drains quickly after the update

After the passage of global roaming in back to LTE/CDMA and circles (and switching back-and-forth he other things) the phone became more coherent but remains problematic. Then I discovered SoundCloud recorder in the background at 30% of fortification at random, so I uninstalled the app and the phone works normally now.

I don't know why recorder SoundCloud runs in the background, or what it does exactly, but I don't really want to be registered and have uploaded to a server without my permission or do it slowly to the bottom of my phone. I wrote them a terse email about it so I'll find out what they say.

  • Problem after the update from Windows 7 18. July 2013

When you try to open a new project or open an existing project first Elements 9 starts to load files, but stops after 20 seconds without error message.

Is there a way to fix this without uninstalling the recent updates?

    Gunnar-Uetersen

Ko Windows Update the only problem we know refers to the recent screen Windows Update kb wmv 1/2. This issue is highlighted in the ad at the top of the forum. For your convenience, it should look like

If you have already done, faster action would probably be to uninstall the updates immediately preceding the Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 problems appearing. Updates of Windows may have nothing to do with this problem, but to exclude it if she's not involved and fast if it works.

Were you move media source for your projects after projects were closed?

You can also, depending on how things are going, to check out the Adobe Tech document on damaged projects...

    We will follow your progress.

  • Windows 8 'windows update' does not

I recently got a new laptop to Windows 8. I did a few Windows updates since the get (the common things, security updates, etc.).

Yesterday, he said there was "7 updated important". I clicked on 'Install now' and there was a failure without code. So I clicked on the link for more information and it took me to the desktop screen "windows update". Here, I tried installing again and has saw that he give me the progress bar to "ready...". "and get to about 25 or 30% of that and then just quit, once again to give me the original screen. No error message or anything. I tried a few solutions that I've seen posted, re-registration of the dll, reboot Windows 8 in a "reduced" mode (by disabling all, but normal services of MS) etc. I still get exactly the same behavior.

Any ideas what is happening and how to fix it?

    Thank you

On a lark, I decided to look for and download/install updates individually from Microsoft.com by searching the KB numbers. Everyone seems to install OK and the system rebooted and now appear normal.

After that I manually installed and restarted, a couple of new updates appear. I tried these with widows Updater and those actually worked.

So maybe it's back to normal now...?

  • "Configuration of the Windows updates failed. Restoration of the changes. Do not turn off your computer"- by a loop for hours, unable to get to the start

    Hello.

First of all, I read this page - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949358

It says this - "Note if this problem occurs, it may take 30 minutes to undo changes, and then the system will display the login screen Windows.»

But this is not true for me, I have nowhere near the logon screen. Earlier the PC rebooted, but is IMMEDIATELY returned to the exact same failure screen. There is a line.

    A few notes:

    (1) it is a G46VW mobile computer ASUS 'Republic of gamers ". I had 3 days. There is no DVD drive so I can't use any kind of boot disk.

    (2) I have no attached removable media.

    (3) I don't know how to get to any screen except that this form of failure, so do not know how to enter in a single command.

    (4) all that happens is that I see the ASUS logo, then this screen failure immediately.

I'm panicking, it's all new. It has worked very well. I started it today, it has been updated slowly. I saw him at about 17%. Then I looked at a few hours later and saw that he was stuck in this process.

    What can I do?

    Hi James,

I appreciate your patience and manual labor.

You can follow the steps in the link below.

How to reset the Windows Update components?

Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Follow these steps to resume and restore the registry.

    1. Go to Start creen and type regedit.
    2. Select regedit , then right-click on the screen.
    3. Click run as administrator.
    4. Right click on computer , then click export.
    5. In the Save in box, select the location where you want to save the backup copy to, and then type a name for the backup file in the file name box.
    6. Click Save.
    7. If something goes wrong, you can do a right click on the registry backup file and click on Merge.

  • Cannot run Windows Update. Keeps saying to re-record the files but nothing helped.

Funny but I seem to just receive this error message when I run windowsupdate.com

"Files required to use Windows Update are longer registered or installed on your computer. To continue:

Click option 1: register or reinstall the files for me now (recommended)
Click on option 2: Let me read on other measures that may be required to solve the problem. »

By clicking on option 1 sets as it is something useful, then goes back to the screen Windows Update offering Express (recommended) or custom. Whichever you choose, it sends you back to:
"Files required to use Windows Update are longer registered or installed on your computer. "To continue:

By clicking on the option 2 doesn't send you a place that helps you solve the problem, it sends you to a screen where you can "SEARCH FOR YOURSELF" from scratch!

I tried a few solutions as re-register DLL files, but not to prevail. It has not changed.

I tried force windows update agent installation, but nothing works. It's really frustrating.

I am running on a Windows 2003 Std Edition Server. "I would have preferred direct product. Any day. And twice on Sunday. "Director Steven Spielberg

What are the files DLL have you tried re - record exactly?

Have you tried to register MSXML3?
    "regsvr32 msxml3.

You can also try to run the "sfc/scannow" command and let Windows try to repair system files.
