  HP does not currently have drivers for Windows 8. You probably won't need them. Windows 8 is not coming. It's here!

  Just do the installation on a spare hard drive and bring the original HARD drive to a safe place.

  . Windows 8 has drivers built in for most laptops and desktop computers. I did have to look for a driver in two facilities. One was an HP mini and the other was a Toshiba laptop.

  HM... I guess that the Cisco people know what they're taking everything. The AR5005 is a b/g card and there should be a good reason to not work with a router that is able (the E2000 is able g) g.

  Good news is that there is a difficulty.

  I was given further guidance to Support cat HP, including a link to the page software and downloads.  This shows a new BIOS Softpaq, which has not been suggested by HP Support Assistant. Details of the update of the BIOS are;

  You need a USB FLASH DRIVE, you can transfer the files from the Recovery Console Windows Vista from any other pc or laptop running Windows Vista, go to the backup and restore on the other computer and click on create a drive recovery system on the file menu.   Thank you for your message.  Is your aftermarket sound card or is it integrated with your Gateway computer?  Try to download and install the latest driver for your computer at the following sites.
  Bridge - click HERE to go to the gateway site and download/install the latest driver for your computer.
  RealTek - click HERE to download/install the AC 97 Codec from RealTek.
  If you are still not able to install these drivers, start in safe mode with networking and download/install the drivers from there.  Click HERE for Safe Mode instructions.
