Lookout 6.5 / Lookout 6.0.2

I have 25 big systems designed with Lookout 6.0.2 and a few collections of data systems. They use a server OPC and customers of Lookout, Opto 22, Rockwell and Microcim (for a Delta Tau Motion Control card). I tried before Lookout 6.1 and faced serious graphic and from the database (SQL). He had to use the best processors to increase the processing power in computers and increase the Ram memory. In the end, I've switched back to Lookout 6.0.2 because 6.1 do not work as expected.

Now, I received a CD with Lookout 6.5 that says it's good for Windows 7. We here to move to Windows 7, some of our systems, which means to upgrade hardware as well. This means that the money and the time, in addition to all.

I would like to know before make a mess here, if applications designed with belvedere 6.0.2 can run under lookout 6.5 "free of trouble." Control systems may not be down for long, I need to be aware of any problems before moving on!

Anyone done this before?

Any command secret to properly configure SQL or ODBC?

What the administrator settings and permissions in Windows 7?

What is the database of Windows 7?

Office 2007 or 2010?

What Office Excel would work better?

Recommendations and advice are welcome here!

Rudy.

If the DDE is just for local data exchange, it is not a problem. But NetDDE no longer works.

The OPC uses the DCOM technology. The configuration of DCOM in Windows 7 is almost the same.

  • On carriage 4.5 Lookout 6 source file

    I use Integrator lookout 6.0 to write my programs of Belvedere, I have a couple of customers with Lookout 4.5, usually make changes to their files of process on the site, but one of my clients had a lot of changes need to be made, so I made a copy of it and brought to the shop where I have compiled it is source file in my 6 Lookout Integrator software.  Then I saved the files, has brought to the site and tried to recompile, but he is back with a few errors and does not compile.  Is that what I can do to get their program to accept version 6 compile?   I wouldn't have to redo all my work on site using 4.5.  It is unlikely that I can talk to my client in the upgrade at this time of the year.

    Thank you

    Werner

    Lookout does not support such use. You cannot compile the source 6.0 lookout Lookout 4.5 file.

    Instead of all over again, you can try to manually change the source file (.lks).

    First, make a copy of the source file.

    Open it in a text editor, such as Notepad. The first lines of serval codes are different. You need to copy headers from 4.5 to 6.0 file source file source.

    If this does not work after changing the source file header, follow the error in compiling to go to the exact problem codes. The error should tell you the line number. It is usually due to the number of parameters of an object incompatibility.

    I can give you instructions to fix the step by step, because there is a lot of changes.

    Be sure to save the source before you edit.

    To reset the password, find the lookout.sec in the windows\SysWOW64 (64-bit computer) or windows\system32 folder and save it first. And then copy the lookout.sec attached to this folder. Open Lookout, connection by "Administrator" and the password empty.

  • Lookout 6.7.1 questions

    When I try to open the login screen of the customer in 6.7.1 it appears not. I had no problem to use it at 6.6.

    Anyone had this problem with 6.7.1?

    Thank you.

    I couldn't see the screen Connection Client (CCM) because unlike 6.6, the settings for the CCM are listed in the lookout.ini file in 6.7, and my settings were the following:

    [ClientConnectionMonitor]
    PositionSize = 32767 32767 164 34
    HostColumn = 0
    IPAddrColumn = 0
    UserColumn = 0
    GroupColumn = 0
    SecLevelColumn = 0
    LastTimeColumn = 0

    Don't know how they came up with these values, but once I changed the values below, my MAC is now visible.

    [ClientConnectionMonitor]
    PositionSize = 10 10 900 900
    HostColumn = 200
    IPAddrColumn = 150
    UserColumn = 100
    GroupColumn = 100
    SecLevelColumn = 100
    LastTimeColumn = 200

  • Lookout 6.6 - login error: there is no security file

    I am trying to run the Lookout 6.6 evaluation. It loads fine, I get a message saying that it is running the evaluation version. I press OK to clear this box and opens a window to logon. It is completed with the default settings, Administator, local doman, no password. I click on login and it gives me the error that is in the subject line, there is no security file.

    I read here that the lookout.sec file does not exist in the System32 folder. In this case, I found it and it's there.

    I try different usernames, I took the .sec file and copied in various places: windows folder and the program root folder - obviously, there was no effect. I tried modifying the lookout.ini file to remove the log on information to see if it cleared (even deleted the file to see if it works), but does not. I also tried to reinstall the program, but there is no uninstall button - windows program removal tool may not even remove, change or repair the program. I ran the installation a couple of times as well.

    Anyone know what I can do?

    Here's what I'm running:

    (I bought this computer today)

    X 64-bit of Windows 7 Home Premium

    4 GB of ram

    hard drive 500 GB

    It is very minimal, because the entire computer is intended to do is run this program and replace the Lookout 5.0 computer was running (mobo got fried).

    -Let me know if you have any suggestions.

    Understand how to uninstall. After having done that and reinstall it seemed to work. Do not know why.

  • 2011 OPC Server V5.5 in Lookout 6.6

    Hello

    I use Lookout 6.6 with the OPC 2011 V5.5 server.

    The OR - the server is accessible via Lookout and the integrated OPC Quick Client. But if I use another Client such as the OPC data-spy or PROFILAB,

    the server is not accessible, the name of the server appears in the list, but is not accessible. Other OPC servers installed on my PC are accessible by each customer. Do I need to have a special license for the OPC Server OR provided with the software of Lookout 6.6? I am using Windows 7 32-bit edition.

    Thank you for all the advice

    Greetings

    Claude

    Mike's right. We don't allow connection to the OPC Server OR the other OPC clients.

  • Lookout 6.5 cannot create new Windows 7 user accounts

    Hello

    I use Lookout 6.5 (Build 49153) on a 64-bit Windows 7 computer. I also installed it on my development machine that is also running Windows 7 64 bit. On both machines I can't create new accounts of users at Lookout. I get an error that says:

    Add user operation failed. Check the system drive disk space.

    There are a lot of free space on the hard disk, so this isn't the problem. I am connected to Lookout and Windows administrator is connected under the administrator account. I'm guessing that there may be a security issue with Windows 7. I tried to adjust UAC in Windows disabled, but it did not help.

    I can't add a password for the default Administrator account to Lookout. I get the following error:

    Could not change the properties of that user.

    I really need to solve this problem as soon as POSSIBLE because operators are required to use the Administrator without password account to make the system work, so that they have way more rights that they need and can enter edit mode and really cause some damage. Thanks for any help you can give me.

    Thank you

    Rob Miller

    Try to run the lookout in XP compatibility mode. Right-click on lookout.exe and open its property, it is on the Compatibility tab.

    Hello

    1 did you change on your computer?

    2 did you receive an error message?

    Fallout 3 is not compatible with windows 7. See the below link for the same thing:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/search.aspx?type=software&s=fallout&OS=32-bit

    Method 1:

    You can even check this link: make sure to run older programs in this version of Windows: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

    Method 2:

    However, start your computer in a clean boot state, and see if that fixes the problem.

    See How to solve a problem by performing a boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    Note: After troubleshooting, make sure that you configure the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.
