  • How can I sync iTunes without losing the music

I'm sorry to post a question too incredibly basic, but I want to check that I erase all the music that I recently and laboriously copied from disk to iTunes.

I have not synced with my iPod Classic for almost a year - in fact, I don't think I ever it synchronized with this computer. But I had a bad experience in the past where, instead of copying music from my computer to iPod, iTunes copied the (much less) of songs from the iPod to the computer and erased everything. Not a happy event.

What would be my settings to make sure that when I sync the music will copy only - in a way the computer to iPod?

If it is contained on the device that is not in your library see recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device. Back up your library with Time Machine, or tools such as Carbon Copy Cloner or Synkron which can maintain two copies of a folder synchronized with each other. If you start by restoring the device that anything on this subject will be wiped, otherwise if there are purchases made on your account and that are not in your library, they must be copied into it. If there are other accounts that your computer is not authorized then purchases you will be prompted. Otherwise, you can select which can be synched to the device and it will be updated. Your library will not be affected bar any transfer purchases. If something goes wrong, that you have a backup in place to restore.

  • How to transfer my music from Ipod to i-tunes on my PC without losing songs from iPods?

How to transfer my music from i-pod3 to PC without losing my music from iPod?

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not that a transfer backup device and media has been planned with you keep a master copy of your media on a computer that is in itself independently supported against loss.  To use a device with a different configuration, you pass the old library from a computer or a backup directly in the new configuration, not the device to the library. Synchronization of media isn't a way, computer to the device, update the contents of the device to the content on the computer, update or restore the content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases that can be transferred to a computer.

Redownload or transfer your iTunes Store purchases an iPhone, iPad or iPod to computer - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201267 - 'this feature only works for content purchased from the iTunes Store. From iOS9 is more apps that now need to be re-downloaded directly from the store.

To transfer other items from an i-device to a computer, you will need to use third-party commercial software.  See this document in turingtest2: recover your iTunes library from your iPod or device iOS - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991 even this method can fully recover what you originally had in the library. For example, in order to save space during synchronization if you had converted music files at a lower rate, or photos at a lower resolution, it is these lower quality files that will pick you up.

If you subscribe to the Apple music, titles that are not part of the content that you have purchased or downloaded may not be transferred and must be downloaded directly from iCloud.

original title: Windows 7 upgrade from VISTA?

    Hi Jrawie,

If you want to upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7, you won't lose iTunes music library. However, there is a chance of losing the music of iTunes library if you choose custom installation.

You can see the Microsoft article for more information on the upgrade:

  • MORE COMPUTER SPACE

My computer has a GP 16.5 capacity. I am running out of computer space after downloading tunes in my I Pod to my computer.  If I delete the songs I lose them on my IPod.  I then copied on my external HARD drive and when I remove it from my main computer they are also deleted from my IPod and the HARD drive.  How can I do to recover a computer space without losing my music.

    Hi Pauline,

16.5 GB is too low for operating system, application, and itunes it! Consider upgrading the hard drive. You can recover disk space by deleting temporary files by running Disk Cleanup. (My computer-> right click C drive-> properties-> disk cleanup). You can also try to delete $NtUninstallKB... files under C:\windows - these files are hidden, so you must enable the system to show the files hidden - I you suggest to copy these files in the external hard drive and then delete.

    I hope this helps.

Go to settings/USB Mode and make sure that it is on the PSG to connect to Windows Media Player. You also need Windows Media Player version 10 or 11. If you use a computer with Windows Media Player 9, it will not work.

    Hello.

You can try to transfer files with Linux Live CD. Do it just to create a live Linux USB and start the computer by using it by going into the BIOS and change the order of boot on CD/USB. Once it loads, you can try and mount the drive (or if Linux can read, it mounts in itself) and see if you can transfer the files from the outside.

Other than that, you can also take a look at this Microsoft's KB article and try the methods described here as well:

    I hope this helps.

    See you soon! :)

  • Windows Media Player 12 library not to rebuild

Windows Media Player 12 library issues

The library settings of WMP on my Win7 x 86 Ult PC appear to have corrupted after clicking on a BSOD just as I recorded a new network folder in music library settings. It was very well until now, but after the restart, will organize > manage libraries > music does not return a screen. Other libraries, such as the image will be open a screen and can be kept, but it seems that the media in these cases does not actually view.

Restore the system to a point before the BSOD did not fix the issue.

Running MS FixIt for Windows Media Player has not fixed the problem.

Running sfc/scannow does not detect any problems.

Deletion of the library and the settings deleting the folder AppData/Microsoft/Media Player did not help.

The only possible solution I am aware of what I have not tried is to uninstall/reinstall WMP via Add or remove features - I'm reluctant to do for the simple reason that this step seems also to uninstall Windows Media Center, I receive countless hours over the past four years, get the installer of my _extremely_ preferences - and there are also of the OEM changes (its a VAIO Sony's older) as art of support and background disc changer that I would struggle to restore.

Have to reinstall Media Center from scratch would be a disaster even greater that losing the music library, which is a fairly large disaster already.

Someone knows some way to correct this problem _without_ lose all my settings in Media Center?

    PROBLEM SOLVED

I noticed another possible solution in another thread and it worked - in Explorer to delete the folder music 'Libraries' section, click on the section heading 'Libraries' and select 'Restore default libraries' in the menu.

I then could open WMP and add my network via the feature folder successfully organize.

So when you look at the libraries ions - thought it was a redundent bit fave music files in the music Libraryb and document library. If you understood notm - I removed from the document library. Now, I can't listen to anything. Why they disappear when they are in my documents page, and now can nothing do so only in a different music library-call they are still there.

So, apparently, I hacve the same files in all directions like a copy of a place. So why I'm losing my music when they led; products in the document library?

I can download a file-no use in a year and five copies of help but if I remove it in a library called documents knowing they are always in my ligberary music - if I delete them - they are gone.

So am now all confused. Ho9w do not reproduce themselves while able to use what I have files wantmin - libraries and beholden to a lot of confusion. Microsoft may provide software that actually works the way we want it to work? So much for making things easier.

  • I have a lot of music on my xp system and want to be able to play on my computer laptop windows 7 and on my windows7 phone without losing sound or image, how can I do?

I want to be able to take music from my xp and play on my windows 7 and also be able to download all the music and stuff for my windows 7 to my xp without losing something.

You can create a music library using your windows media player on the XP machine and copy the entire contents of a USB key or external hard drive and copy the contents of the disc back on your Windows 7 machine.

For Windows phone 7, you can connect your phone to your laptop and synchronize the contents of your laptop on the phone using Windows Media Player.
  • Can I transfer music from iPod Nano again iTunes account without losing any content?

I had to have a new hard drive installed on my laptop and lost all the data that was on my old hard drive. I have reloaded iTunes but now it obviously does not show me as having any music out there. I have all my music on my iPod Nano. Can I sync the iPod to download on iTunes for re - record my music?

Since the iTunes library on the new disc is new to the iPod, sync deletes the existing content of the iPod and replace it with the content of the new library (which currently is 'nothing').  By design, iTunes syncing is generally in one direction, from the iTunes library on the computer for iPod (with the exception of songs purchased on iTunes Store).  However, there are methods and third party utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something as 'ipod transfer music', you should get a few useful links, including a CNET article on the subject.

Once your music files on your new drive, add them to your new iTunes library.  After the confirmation of all your songs are, sync of the iPod as you wish.
