Thanks, but what is doing TreeSize to regain my lost space.

How to use it.

Hello

Here's how to understand Treesize Screenshots:

http://www.Jam-software.com/treesize_free/screenshots.shtml

And it's the standard methods to clean your hard drive.

Check how much space system restore uses:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-much-disk-space-does-System-Restore-require

You can clean your hard drive using these two methods.

"Delete files using Disk Cleanup"

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup#delete-files-using-disk-cleanup=Windows-7

Using the free CCleaner program:

http://www.Piriform.com/CCleaner

In NO case use the registry cleaning Option in CCleaner

Download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:

And Norton Backup, if you are using Norton, can do strange things with filling of hard drive space.

See you soon.

  • Running out of disk space on drive D

    Hello!

Recently, I get a message warning me that I m not enough space on drive D. I'm clean as suggested, but it does not have any effect.
The MS forum moderator suggests it is not an operating system problem, but a problem for Toshiba.

It seems that the files are saved on disk D that shouldn't be the case...?

Sorry for this question but what is alert MSG?
And what was the argument why it should be matter of Toshiba?

Is this info from the operating system itself or given by Toshiba as Tempro tool?

Free space on drive C - Windows XP Security takes a large amount of space.

    Beachaven,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Community!

How much space you show the updates of security take?

It is recommended to leave all the updates security installed and continue to keep your computer up-to-date with Windows Update. Remove these updates will make your computer vulnerable to malicious software. If you need to erase the disk space, I recommend to uninstall old programs that are no longer in use. You can also check the disk cleanup tool to see if you can free up of any space there.

    ·         Click Start

    ·         Click on all programs

    ·         Click on Accessories

    ·         Click on System Tools

    ·         Click Disk Cleanup

    ·         Check the boxes of files to remove

    ·         Click OK

    ·         Click on delete files

Hope that helps, I look forward to hearing from you.

Original title: How do iknow, I can uninstall when I said im my running out of space

not enough space on drive d

    Hello

You may have a serious problem that you can't solve yourself.

Click Start > computer > see if D: is the recovery drive and in this case it must be sized anywhere between 5-15GBs about.

If it fits this description, you should contact the manufacturer of your computer, as they placed this hard disk recovery disk.

The recovery disk is placed there only for you to reinstall the operating system if you have a bad system crash recovery disk to reinstall the operating system in the event of total failure of the hard drive.

The recovery disk is cannot be used for these purposes.

The manufacturer will help you fix it.

If this is not the recovery disk please post back.

    See you soon.

    Hello

You did changes to the computer before the show?

    Method 1:
I suggest to perform a disk defragmentation and check:
    You can check these links

    Method 2:
You may need to check your hard disk for errors

    Method 3:
Alternatively, you can run a Microsoft security scanner to make sure that the computer is free of infection by the virus:

Writing an effective question of communities of Apple Support

Time Machine is a backup software. If you mean that you're already using TM and you want to store other items on your backup disk, you can, but it is not a good idea and you will need to partition the drive. http://pondini.org/TM/3.html

  • Stor.e TV - last 23% space HARD drive cannot be used

    Hello

I bought a multimedia hard drive 1.5 TB Stor.e TV.

I recorded 1.4 TB VOB files and some files are ilegibles (the last copied files).

After deleting some files, leaving the 23% of free space and compress the disk, reads all the files that remain, even files that before, could not be read.

The problem is that there are 23% of disk space that can be used.

A friend who has the same drive has the same problem.

    Greetings

    Hello

I could imagine that not all the files have been copied properly to the TV Stor.e because of the missing space and this could be the reason why you were not able to play the latest bearable files.

  • Including disk space in drive C

Hi, I have 148GB hard drive which has a car - 141 C and a D drive - 7.71 GB partitioned by HP. towards the end I was running low disk space. I did a disk cleanup and defragmentation on a regular basis. I checked the size of each folder on drive C, and then the total space and it does not match.

That's what I got after checking the space on individual files:

Go 122,18 includes Doc & settings, program files, and any other folder in the C drive (no hidden files - the option is disabled in my computer > tools)

18,82 GB is therefore reported missing.

I put t see all other files and folders in the C drive, temporary files, cookies are deleted and the Recycle Bin is empty.

D I really appreciate your help!

Over the years, patch from Windows Update installers can take a lot of hard drive space. System Restore also feeds a small piece of space. Try to clean the system restore files by clicking on the 'More Options' tab in disk cleanup. Go down and clean the system restore.

CCleaner may clean old hotfix files. You can download it for free and discover its settings, and HERE I've used for years on many machines.
