Losing the history with the new Firefox Ver 10
I'm angry that FF seems to update versions without any warning, that is to say I have no word to say as to when I have to spend extra to deal with a new 'look' / version. It is inconsiderate to the users as we do not always have free time at a time that suits to the FF.
How can Q: I:
(a) ensure that the FF does not give me a new version unless I ask you?
(b) when he gives me a new version, always my complete history with her? (I regularly use 'history' as a memory audit trail.
With this worm 10 I lost so much time as:
(a) he lost my historic trail and Windows I left open specially
(b) and 'help' suggested I have restart the laptop to see if it could re - finding the story - he could not
(c) new versions we said this, look how pester on it, sometimes I'm just to busy at this time!
Wow! -See all troubleshooting information that can be supplied with this question - impressive.
Fast, comprehensive and very helpful - thank you. The 'advanced update' bit already fact (would have taken me a while to find - and if I knew that these were!), let Xmarks until later... Thanks again

With this new firefox updated. The (enter private browsing) is gone and replaced with (new private window). It is sort of back enter private browsing?
You can drag links to the private browsing window (hover the icon on the task bar for this update of the Firefox window).
If you drop the link on an empty space on the tab bar, then the link should open in a new tab. -
I get a pop up asking me to upgrade to the new Firefox, but then I get a notice that the upgrade will not work with Symantec, my Norton account that protects my machine of various things on the Internet. I just won't do that. He must either find a way to do the upgrade works with Symantec, or buy some other, equal protection for me.
Firefox is not disable the entire program Synmantec, just the Symnantec of extensions for Firefox. And these extensions can be easily updated to the new version of Firefox by running a Symantec / Norton Live Update, the new version of Firefox is installed.

Obsolete computer will not support the new Firefox.
I have a Mac OS X Version 10.4.11. I just downloaded the latest Firefox and when asked "Do you really want to delete the existing file" (IE an older version of Firefox), I clicked on Yes. But when I tried to open the new Firefox, I got a message saying that my computer it won't support. Is there a way I can get my computer to open the new version, or even download the old version?
Firefox 4 and later requires at least OS X 10.5 and a Mac with an Intel processor.
You can find the latest version of Firefox 3.6.x in all languages and for all systems operating here:

I have improved the previous version of firefox to the new firefox v.4 and now all the shortcut icons I used with the previous version display a pop-up dialog box that says that windows does not find this website, check the spelling - address - etc. But immediately after this window opens the Web site loads. I tried to load the original site, delete the old shortcut and drag the new shortcut to my desktop, but Firefox always gives me the same message.

I recently updated my PC and my old hard drive in system is placed as a slave in my new PC. Seen key3 and signons.sqlite key3.db files of the old firefox, how to import passwords saved in the new firefox 41.0?
Thank you.
How old was the older Firefox? Firefox 33 and then use this pair of files:
- logins. JSON -. saved passwords.
- signons3.txt - this file stores your database key for your passwords.
If you want to move the old in your current profile (to replace new empty files for the most part), this is the fastest way to open your folder of the currently active profile. Either:
- button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
- (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
- type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.
Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:
- "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
- (menu bar) File > Exit
Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename logins.json to something like logins.old and key3db to something like key3.old.
Now copy the old two files in this folder.
Launch Firefox back up again. These connections are available?

Latest version, they took auto-refresh timer on a tab, I still miss it. I used it on a weather page, so I always know the latest weather at a glance. Now, I have to remember to refresh the page when I watch it.
Yes, the new tab page should still work.

I don't have the new Firefox button
I've updated our pc XP to Firefox and I don't have the new Firefox button - I still have the old file - menu Edit etc at the top. The tabs etc. have all changed - it's just the button which has not appeared.
My husband has another XP user on the same pc, and it doesn't have the button again, oddly enough (since, presumably, we are both running the same software!).The Firefox button is only a default feature for Windows Vista and 7. To make the button Firefox on Windows XP, go to:
View > toolbars and UNCHECK the menu bar. Then the Firefox button should appear. Please read this article for more details:

I've updated to Firefox 4.01 today and the Center knob on my Lenovo T400 does more. I downloaded the updated Ultranav utility and the Ultranav driver for my T400 by http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-72858.html , then uninstalled the 'Thinkpad Ultranav Driver' to add/remove programs, rebooted and then installed the update utility and driver (another reboot) and now it works perfectly.
So happy to get it working again.
